  • Zen Studios allowed me early access to the Pacific Rim Pinball table in Pinball FX and this is my thoughts on the table.

    The Flippers alternating lights are a reference to the pilots who must work in tandem to drive the mech. It might not be an exciting mechanic but I love that they incorporated the rules of the movie logic into the table.

    Im really enjoyong this tabke today. I'm enjoyong the simplicity. Its different, and quite refreshing. Its nice to have a simple flow-ful table.

    Pretty cool lighting though.

    I understand the disappointment here but at the same time... I'll have to wait until I play it, I really enjoy flow focused tables like this even though the rules are on the simplistic side. Sometimes having really big gimmicks doesn't necessarily mean a table works - Verne's Mysterious Island for instance, looks great but I can't stand playing it because of how cluttered the layout is. The multiball idea with 2x scoring is also really clever and I'm surprised that hadn't been done before, it fits this simple table like a glove. Left ramp definitely seems tighter than it should be.

      It's certainly not a bad table, I was just kind of hoping for something more exciting.

    yo im loving these mini review edited of what shots etc highlights to do kinda videos! your long form videos are great but its great to kinda just have a 5-8 min run down of a table thats edited to where your not finding out the same time we are but giving us the highlight/cliff notes and synopsis as well as personal thoughts
    great stuff , you could literally go back and do these type of videos for all the zen tables. Another guy used to do like them but he was sometimes to satirical and giving advice and review in typically less than a min. This is like the perfect length, i also liked your table pack review you just did but i saw heck with it and cover a synopsis/advice on each mode ( you mentioned you wouldn't cover every mode but if ya did it would only add like a min or two to the run time)
    anyway love the stuff ya do , hope you dont think im being to critical , we desperately need someone in the community making videos like this. Another channel started doing history of pinball videos but he only releases like three a year, really great stuff but you could go after that missing element in the scene
    again awesome work and keep it up

      lol.. the reason I didn't cover every mode was because sometimes they are just kind of simple... also I sometimes there are modes I may miss or don't get to.
      My original videos were just in a "Let's Play" format. They were longer, but I literally didn't put that much effort into them. I've kind of stopped doing that (though I still return to the format from time to time). These recent Pinball FX videos I've done are done in much the same way I've been doing my Evercade videos. I play the games, capture the footage, write a script, record narration, then edit the whole thing. Takes longer, the videos are shorter, but ultimately I'm more satisfied with them. Save the Let's Plays for Livestreams I think.
      I have considered going back and relooking at all the tables/table packs in Pinball FX. The issue is that I'm currently trying to catch up on Evercade videos, so those have been a focus of mine for a while. But once I do catchup, I may come back to the idea of revisiting the tables in Pinball FX and Pinball M

    That computer voice is straight up GLaDOS from the Portal table.

      It's very annoying and unpleasant to listen to... it kills the table

    • @JeffersonRedeyes
      @JeffersonRedeyes 26 дней назад

      @@tobjord It's very literally an iconic performance and the director of the movie hired the exact same voice actress to do the same exact voice for Gypsy Danger's computer.
      I don't find it unpleasant because I like Glados and it's actually a part of the movie so I think it works perfectly.
