How to change the oil and filter for MV Agusta Brutale & Dragster
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 15 сен 2024
- In this video, we see how to perform an oil and filter change for the MV Agusta Brutale and Dragster models (2018-2022) including Rosso, RR, and RC versions. This is also applicable to the F3 and Turismo Veloce models. The main difference with these two models will be the covers to remove in order to access the oil plug and filter cover. In addition, previous years are very similar due to the engine design.
The motorcycle in this video is a 2019 MV Agusta Dragster 800 RR.
Here is the list of MV Agusta OEM parts used in this video:
- Oil Filter, Part #8000B5425
- O-Ring, Part #800035840
- Crush Washer, Part #62N015679

⚠Correction: Oil filter screws are torx, not hex. Thanks to @goozlo, an attentive viewer, for pointing that out! Apologies for the mistake, and I appreciate your feedback. I'll ensure better accuracy in the future. Your support means a lot!
Thank you. I have a drag 800RR and this is the first maintenance video. Need more of these as the dealer charges $120 for an oil change. Keep these videos coming!
Thank you! I have more videos coming on the bobber build. Will try as well on the MV 😊
Finally, a video on maintenance for these bikes! I have the Brutale 800 SCS and been looking for tutorials all over. Subscribed!!
Glad it is helpful and thanks for the support! 🙏 I guess I will need to think of other how to videos for this bike 😁
Bro I really appreciate that you took the time to make a video on maintenance for this bike. I hope it won’t be the last!
Thank you! Always great to see people appreciate it 😊 I am definitely thinking of doing more videos on this bike, but not sure yet about what (I have a couple of ideas). If you feel like you want to see a specific how to video let me know and I will definitely consider it 😁
@@zigmoto chain adjusting, coolant top up, things to leave well enough alone. Adjusting bar end mirrors…………
Just did the oil change on my TVL. Thanks for your tutorial!
Glad it helped! 🙂
Awesome man, so cool to see you have an MV. Congrats.
👍
Omg man!! Great video !! Please make more video about mv agusta 800 rr
Thanks!! I will try for sure. Focusing on the bobber build these days whenever I have a bit of free time 🙂
DDÐððd🎉s😂
Thanks for this video, very helpful
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for this video. By the way, what exhaust do you have?
I have the Silmotor exhaust - black ceramic coated version.
Pro tip bro wrap some tin foil around your exhaust to prevent any oil spilling on to it then discard when finished.
Hey it’s blockhead again. I wanted to ask you if you are experiencing the bar end mirrors coming loose? Mine come loose after every ride and it is not a joke anymore and I was wondering if you have heard about a fix for this problem? It could also be that I’m the only one having issues? Any suggestions are welcome 🤗
Hey, I had that early on when I got the bike. The mirror wouldn’t stay in position I configured. I actually had to tighten up the screw of the mirror and needed also to add some loctite to the screw.
Loctite is a good solution!
@@BlockHead805 Glad it worked for you too! :)
The oil filter screws are torxs not hex..... I followed your video and obviously destroyed the head and then it was a pain to get them out....
Thank you for pointing that out, and I apologize for the mistake in my video. You're absolutely right! I just went to check and the oil filter screws are torx, not hex. I guess I got very lucky as I didn't notice this during this maintenance and filming.
I really appreciate your feedback because it helps me improve the quality of my content. I want to provide accurate information to my viewers, and I apologize for any confusion or inconvenience caused by my error.
Moving forward, I'll make sure to triple-check all the details. Your input is valuable to me, and I'm grateful for your comment. Thank you for taking the time to bring this to my attention, and I hope you'll continue to enjoy my future content.
Can I ask for Dragster 800rr’s Add Oil Capacity? Thanks
Sorry for my poor english
Hey! It is around 2.5 liters. However don’t take my word for it as it all depends on how much oil is removed from the bike. So check the oil dipstick to ensure you are in between the two marks of the oil level. Hope this helps 🙂
Hello 👋 I have a 2016 Dragster RR & with the filter change I used 2.5 litres
Where did you buy the O-ring, filter, washer parts?
Directly from the dealer. They sell the kit that includes these parts.
try another oil fuchs
sikolene xp pro
Thanks for the recommendation! Never heard of that one before so now I’m curious 🧐😁
@@zigmoto oh really i have the new brutale rr model 22 and i chance the oil with fuchs silkolene 5w 40 xp pro
and is amazing
@@dimitrislavdas1187 I’ve been using Motul on most of my vehicles for years without any issues. I guess that’s why I don’t know that brand. Also I don’t recall seeing it in any local stores here. Anyway if it works that’s what’s important 😁
Did not warm engine before draining oil?
Good question!
I actually did not. I normally would for other bikes that have the filter outside. However this bike has the filter inside which means you can’t really escape getting oil on your gloves. If you warm up then you have a high chance of getting burn unless you own some special gloves. So I decided not to warm up the engine for that specific reason.
Also the debate of hot vs cold engine for oil change has been going on forever and so far there are pros and cons for both and not much difference at the end.
Hope that helps.
No purgaste el enfriador?
Do you mean the coolant of the bike or like the oil cooler?
Does your clutch rattle and vibrate when the clutch isnt pulled in?
Not really except the normal vibrations from the bike in general. Are you experiencing these issues on your MV?
@@zigmoto yes I am
DM me on Insta @zigmoto with a short video of it like this I can compare to mine and let you know my thoughts. Also have you touched/changed anything that relates to the clutch? Another good source of info/feedback is the MV forum where you can post about this 😊
