I don't wanna ask you for any favors, but if you have the time, and from what I saw you had plenty, please fix this for me: It's a eulogy for Hazel.
She asked me to write one, and I'm trying, but I just... I could use a little flair. See, the thing is... we all wanna be remembered.
But Hazel's different.
Hazel knows the truth.
She didn't want a million admirers, she just wanted one. And she got it.
Maybe she wasn't loved widely, but she was loved deeply.
And isn't that more than most of us get?
When Hazel was sick, I knew I was dying, but I didn't wanna say so. She was in the ICU when I snuck in for ten minutes and I just sat with her before I got caught. Her eyes were closed, her skin pale, but her hands were still her hands, still warm, and her nails were painted this dark blue black color, and... I just held them. And I willed myself to imagine a world without us and what a worthless world that would be.
She's so beautiful.
You don't get tired of looking at her.
You never worry if she's smarter than you, 'cause you know she is. She's funny without ever being mean.
I love her. God, I love her, I'm so lucky to love her, Van Houten.
You don't get to choose if you get hurt in this world, but you do have a say in who hurts you. And I like my choices. I hope she likes hers.

Hazel and Augustus both purchased outfits to be worn at their funerals if/when they died. Augustus wore his to the date in Amsterdam. Hazel, upon learning this, said she wouldn't wear her death dress to a date.
GunRecon 11 in the book , I think she said it was a purple dress .
It is my theory that the final scene is supposed to represent hazel's death. Think about it. She's wearing her death dress, she crosses her arms across her chest the way they do with bodies, and the film ends with her saying "okay," and closing her eyes.

I showed this to my mom, who's been through a few divorces and has been dissapointed in her love life. She was bawling her eyes out and said she's crying because she'll never experience a love like this one. Then said what's worse living with a broken hear or dying with one?. That shit tore me up man, hate to see my mom cry.

Even though he was a jerk, Hazel Grace kept Peter Van Houten's "Some infinities are bigger than other infinities" with her. The most powerful quote in this whole film (at least for me) is "I love her, God, I love her, I'm so lucky to love her". That hit me right in the feels and made me think to myself that I want somebody in my life who I can say I'm so lucky to love.
mine is: "it would be a privilege to get my heart broken by you” and "you made infinity into my numbered days" (don't remember the exact quote, but something like that)
in the book hazel says i do Augustus i do but in this one she says okay and i feel the okay is a lot better

Actually, John green said that he put the "I do" because he wanted to the readers to feel this like a wedding between gus and hazel, so even before hazel's death they would still have that connection, that fate, that love.

Love is a shitty disaster that can drive someone insane or make them never leave their room, but it is also a beautiful thing that everyone should feel. It sucks like hell but it is also so wonderful and amazing. My understanding of it? The best and worst thing anyone will ever feel. But this doesn't mean anyone should be scared to love, because then what is life?

The movie and this song make you think. Sometimes we have precisely what we need to help us get through life's challenges and still not realize it until it's (almost) too late. To be able to appreciate someone -- a family member, a dear friend, a spouse, or lover -- the person of meaning in our lives -- one we can seemingly take for granted in some ways, only to know that life without them is painfully empty --- this is the essence of the bond of love, which even in death does not break. The movie and this song forever trap those feelings in those that viewed the film and heard this song. Hazel died one year after Augustus, if you look it up you'll see. When she looked up at the stars and had that white dress on. she died with Augustus's letter..(The white dress was her death dress.)

as much as I like the book ending where hazel says "I do, Augustus. I do" I feel like the "Okay" wraps up the story perfectly

What rips my heart so much about this is that, out of everything Gus had to worry about, his main worry, was making sure Hazel was taken care of, even after he was gone. He made sure he had a say in how she was protrayed in the world. And that, is the most undoubtedly the strongest love

After finishing the fault in our stars in a few hours, I thought that it would be a good idea to watch the movie straight after...it broke me, I couldn't stop crying at how beautifully tragic this film is. All I can say is that John Green is one hell of a writer.
I was hung over and asked my (girl) mate for a hanging, romcom, maybe a tear jerker - so i could feel sorry for myself, whilst rehydrating in my warm cosy bed on this Lazy Sunday. OMG this movie ruined me. I didn't think I'd need tissues for any other reason than... ahem, anyway, I got through a shit load. Must've seen this ending a gazillion times. Amazing acting and cinematics. JUST A SICK MOVIE! PS. Watched "my sisters keeper" too, it was good but - no way near as good as this movie. One of my faves of all time. Cons: It's probably a movie every guy has to watch ALONE!

I think that when she says "okay" she finally accepts life and death, we se her with the "what if I died" but in that moment she will be fine either way, she is ok with being alive and if someday it's her time to go she is ok with that too, in that moment we can see that she finally found peace with that situation.
