The 2019 MV Agusta F4 Claudio is an absolute work of art that pays tribute and homage to the MV Agusta F4 750 that Claudio Castiglioni and Massimo Tamburini so dutifully crafted. Claudio’s son Giovanni has taken the MV Agusta name to new heights with the 79mm bore by 50.9mm stroke powerhouse. 212 stampeding horses turning 85 lb.ft. Of torque peaking at 9,300 rpm knocks you on your arse. Thanks Jay for giving the MV Agusta name the star treatment that it so longingly deserves.

Philip Miller I passed my test when I was 32. Did the large sports bikes for 5 years, zx9’s and a couple of R1’s including a trip to the Nurburgring! Had my fun, got away with my licence and life intact somehow then decided that was enough and quit. Now at 49 I’m starting to get the itch again 😂

Actually, a good friend of mine- Albert Bold, took one of the shaft drive 600’s and turned it into a race bike. He’s a master mechanist and did the chain conversion, made the rotors out of conshahocken manhole covers, made the calipers and showed up at Pocono Track to run a WERA race. That was back in the early 80s and we’ve been friends ever since. Jay, you probably even know him!

You're right mister Jelo - this really is the best looking gas tank. The design language of MV Agusta remains unsurpassed to this day. Inspired by Giacomo Agustini's terrific successes in motorcycle racing, I was quickly infected and have raved about Agusta's masterpiece in particular - the 750 S. Congratulations to Mister Stuart Parr for this grandiose interpretation and the masterful reduction to the essentials of this great machine! Best regards from Klaus from Germany.

@@Eric_W interesting, and i trusted the words of the mom and pop cycle shop in sterling illinois, where mark told me to get the 1300 and not the 1800 he had in stock. i did have to buy later the windshield and saddle bags and foot boards. he told me lots of guys are unhappy with the 1800 as it has steering problems and is top heavy, and besides, the exhaust pipes were too large and goofy looking on the 1800, but, i did puchase new a 1300 vtx that had the same pipes as the 1800 and rode it for around 3000 miles till one day i thought the pipes looked goofy, so i traded it for a 1300 vtx also brand new that had more sporty mufflers that were stock. one nice thing about douglasandfryemotosports.com shop is that mark did not deduct one red cent of value from my trade in.

Jay... I commend you for sacrificing your back for us the viewers. But man you look good on the MV. I wish you would do an episode on the ducati 748 916 996 998 series, to follow up on the sexy bikes of Italy.

Jay! I'd love to have an episode on the Honda CB400f Supersport you guys mentioned. I know if seen one lurking in the background on your show a few times and I absolutely love that bike.

I had a 750 Brutale back in 2004-5, and it WAS brutal. The engine was smooth, but I couldn't keep it under 100 mph. Here in the crowded SF Bay Area, the Highway Patrol would give me the hairy eyeball from the _opposite_ side of the freeway. What was really brutal was the gas mileage, 17 mpg! I sold it because I was afraid of losing my license to drive, or my life (like some other people did, sadly.) The wheels were also too soft for the 3rd world streets of San Francisco.

Ah the exhaust noise - I used to love going on the Pioneer run with other members of the MV Owners club, the best bit was passing under Gatwick airport - like going through a Swiss mountain.

    Best episode ever!
Love MV Agusta, and it was beautiful also to see you both being dreamy eyed for a few second when slipping into Honda-mind territory! Your enthusiasm are rich and including, as any true motorcycle-persons should be. But why did non of you mention the lines of the CB400 four exhaust system? 🤔

Great looking bike, I have a cb360 and I would love to ride something like this! I just recently painted the tank on mine and even that wasn't easy.
One thing I don't like about this one is the sound. Doesn't sound like anything special at all.

When I was working in a PSA shop and starting 441 Victor's while Seated on the saddle my total weight was 131 lb I used to drool about the MV Augustus. The funny thing about the 441 Victor it was tuned properly and you knew the proper drill it was an easy bike to start.

Just to be clear, these are two older gentlemen discussing pre-1974 MV Agusta motorcycles and their legend. Since 1996, MV is really just a boutique manufacturer, selling toys to rich folks. The Brutale is nothing special, except the price tag.
37 Constructor championships is across several classes and is an amazing accomplishment. Getting Hailwood and Ago to ride them is amazing, too. Another era.
