When you aim for perfection, you'll discover it's a moving target.
fuck that's a good one.
Except if you used m14 your aim will be badass
Thanks so much for this comment! I knew it, but for some reason it hit me harder now... And I'm going to use it for perfectionism and my inner pressure that I should think about others (not my passions only), "how to save the world"/people pleasing, instead of just focusing on what I want - but it's like with perfectionism, it will be never enough, if I do morel there will be always more... Because perfectionism and people pleasing is just in our heads, and if we listen to them, there will be always more to achieve or help... but if we listen to our hearts it will always be enough 🤗
Inevitably, one day you'll laugh at what you once viewed as a perfect goal
When you adopt perfectionism all you do is literally shift the goal post
"When you look at yourself in the mirror you don't see what everyone else sees" - Good point

@@Avntdr9 Yeah, what he meant was: being a creative person is not always getting that or this thing perfect but trying new things, failing sometimes, mistakes, accidents, getting out of your comfort zone. "You hear a lot of people call themselves perfectionists, and usually it's said as some sort of humble brag, but for me perfectionism was an anchor. The thought of making mistakes was paralyzing." Great insight. Keep it up bro
the title alone caught me, i am a perfectionist and lots of my stress is caused by this.
I've been in the same situation... I love to produce music and to play piano but I've never published anything related to it. Every time I finished a song I would have noticed a small detail that stopped me from publishing it. I was also afraid of others judging me for what I was doing. Luckily for some reason, I actually managed to get out of this "mental block" and I'm starting a new project here on RUclips. Guys if you feel like you have a cool hobby or passion, try to improve but within some limits otherwise, you will be stuck in this circle and it's very hard to get out of it. The quarantine helped me to think about all the stuff I could do while being at home and for some reason, my creativity increased like never before. Follow your dreams and do what you like, stop caring about what others think, YOU ARE UNIQUE.

"Perfectionism is an anchor" is probably the best thing I've heard this year. Something that's worth saying it to yourself over and over again in every phases of your life. So many people are held back because of that.

Man, I really needed this. Thank you for helping convince others to drop the shackles they've put on their own hands.
"Imperfect is perfect."
It make the others learn the mistakes ,it makes you strive for higher achievement
Perfectionism is what holding me back to learn and create new things. Everytime things did not go to what i envision, even though those are minor mistakes or something, i tend not to continue. I have this problem for a very long time now but i just discovered it. For some reason i am happy that i finally knew what is really wrong to me because atleast i know where to start.
The school system is training you to be a perfectionist, That's the problem of today.

The school system is outdated! The biggest block of creativity is the fear of failure and they root it in us so hard. Companies want creative people and yet they dont force school systems to change :/
Well, now its our homework to change ourselves, just like with enlightenment, everybody has to do it on its own.

This is so true.. I'm dealing with anxiety. 1 of them is social anxiety. Everytime there's someone new, strangers, anyone I don't really knew I just want to avoid them..
I don't want to be seen or have any contact with them because sometimes I'm awkward or too cold so I think it's bettet not to have any contact or conversation..
This makes my social life bad.., I couldn't meet old friends, cannot be productive or simple things like going to the shop or car repair.. anything involve with people it's just not so good for me..
This video sure help.., I need to learn to stop being perfectionist and accept myself so that I can do what I wanna do.. and let people see how me as it is.. maybe with more exposure, I will be be able to improve myself..
Try running. It crushes social anxiety and changes the brain in a profound way.

Being a perfectionist does suck, it really pisses co-workers off around you too. I can be tedious and super critical and it just takes the “fun” out of any project for me and everyone involved. Thank you for the video.
Small imperfections from your work is what makes it perfect and unique. Always remember that.
Yesssssss. Let's effing gooooo. Shiiiiit those old clips of you have me bloody goosebumps. Brought back memories of when I used to watch your channel everytime. Hahaha it's weird to explain but fuck yes. You inspire me dawg 💪🏽
just do your best and more importantly, from the heart.
I just came across your video today and it hit home. There are parts of my life that I am trying to be perfect in that I need to just let go or reduce the stress I'm placing on myself. Great video! Loved the message and the editing!
Even though I'm only 15 years old, I'm also a perfectionist. My mental health hasn't been great for the past few months and I would even call it depressed. I also have autism and show signs of compulsive behaviour which make me feel disconnected from the world and often alone. Yeah, I do overthink and I shouldn't but it seems impossible. I've got 0 motivation, 0 'real' friends nor hobbies. The only reason I'm sharing this right here is because I don't now how to talk about it irl.
If possible, bring it up with you parents and seek professional help. Even if you're opposed to medication (which in my opinion isn't the best way to deal with issues) you can still learn many behavioral techniques that could help you get to a point of motivation again! I've dealt with Bipolar I and really bad anxiety since I was 15. That was a decade ago, and I still go talk to a therapist from time to time. There's no shame in it, and no shame in talking about how you feel.
And as someone who didn't have many friends growing up, all I can say is don't change, for anyone. Be you and true to yourself. It may not happen now, but I promise, people who find honest value in you will come. I hope this message maybe gave you some comfort in knowing you aren't the only one dealing with feelings like these. Millions of other people deal with it too. You aren't alone.
Always sharing with your parents about your problems, what you feel, discuss with them how to solve it. Communication in family would help to reduce your depression, trust me just by talking will make it better.
Hey Ryan, you’ll probably not see this but as someone who struggled with burnout for the better part of this year, the timing of this being recommended to me is no short of a miracle. Thank you for what you do and for making this video. Never stop and I hope you’re well. Take care, all the best.

Exactly! Make Yourself A Priority by not chasing perfection. I make a ton of videos pushing this concept!

Have a good day.
"art are allowing you to make a mistake." i am not a perfectionist one but in everytime i finish my artwork i kinda feels quite depressed and start to think i could do better than that. now i think from all of my artwork it should be my own journey
Haven't seen a video with such quality in a long time, watching your work i can be sure it's truly a video from a perfectionist. Great job !
“I stopped viewing my work as an artist and just began viewing it as a judge”
Oh my god, yes. I relate to this on such a deep level. I haven’t created a video in 8 months because I feared so much that my videos weren’t perfect, I slowly lost the passion for it because I was so critical of myself and what I “couldn’t do” and focused so much on the idea that “everybody else is doing is better than me”. Comparing myself to others felt like a curse that I couldn’t get rid of. But I was forgetting that I was bringing a couple minutes of peace to Atleast one persons life with the videos I was making. And I was forgetting how I would feel after making a video even though it would be super amateur. We need to continue to create because we enjoy it and not because we want it to be perfect. Of course learning to master your work is great but that shouldn’t be the only focus. We need to focus on just expressing our imagination. Sometimes we need to be oblivious and think our work is the greatest so that we can continue improving by constantly creating.
Its okay man ....same I also feel the same whether to start a channel like you guys but hesitate about what people think ....I am more passionate about combining art and cinematography together ....by the way I just found your channel and I watched few of your videos man ...your channel is so underated man ...you should have millions of views ...but don't worry you will get it ....keep on uploading your best videos ....👍🏼👍🏼
