Please don't straighten too too often, very tight coils get damaged very easily with heat... our hair is so delicate.... your hair looks bomb tho, shiny, healthy
Nice. Your hair looks lovely kinky or straight and you always look radiant. I have the exact same hair texture so this channel has been so helpful. The hair stylist also did a great job.
It wasn’t too bad prior to the trim, she took off what was needed. Your hair looks great. Trimming during every wash to remove single strand knots, dry finger detangling, & detangling w/ a proper detangling brush under shower water, and add grease to my styling after washes have been my saving grace for combating damage. Also, every four months I blow dry my hair & trim my own ends. I’ve always done my own hair, so it comes easy for me. Plus, I have a 180 mirror that helps.
I trim my ends if necessary but I know I have to go to the stylist to give me a proper shape. I am not skilled to shape my hair but I've seen people do it!
Its nice straight but looks best and healthiest in its natural state. I mean you look GORGEOUS and unique with your kinky hair. Straight looks generic and thin, but when natural it looks so thick and healthy. Either look looks amazing on you :)
Whoever gave this video that one thumbs down is a whole hater lol forreal! I get my hair straightened about once a year and I really enjoyed watched this! Love your vids Tay! So fun to watch ☺️
Hey Taylor. I love your hair . It's beautiful no matter what you do. Love the bounce ❤️ to it. Your hair is going to grow faster now because the dead strands are out of the way. If you get your trims regularly, you won't have to trim do much. Love you much.
You look great with it straight and natural. It's fun having choices. Fun to mix it up sometimes. And the straight hair takes so much less time to maintain, for me anyway.
It's very interesting to be part of what i can relate to, watch' the strenghten and trim process and being able to do any style curly or straight it's what makes me love and appreciate my hair. also.
Not trimming leads to breakage and uneven, at least for hair for me. I keep my hair trimmed. Hair in it's natural state hides a lot of damage. But, cant hide bad ends and uneven hair when it's straight. And I don't straighten or even use any heat. Still trim.
I know exactly what you mean. I went for a trim after a year natural & she cut about half my hair off talking bout so I can start over. I was mortified because I had so much growth and haven’t gotten a trim since.
OMG! My hairstylist never does this and he ain't black/Afro-Caribbean/African American. He's Maori from New Zealand and has curly hair. So he knows about shrinkage! He only cuts a quarter inch or less every 6 weeks. She should have only cut an inch for the year and then let you come back in every 6 weeks to get the quarter inch off till it grows out. I hate scissor happy stylists. This is why I go to Aveda. They are too scared to my scissor happy on my afro. Lol!
I remember those trim days with relaxer. I am so embracing my natural hair journey. Less trimming. I'm a stylist and never thought I'd be natural. But you look Beautiful.👢🔥💖
You and I have similar shrinkage because when I used to get my hair straightened people would be like wow 😯 you have that much length???? I used to not like getting a hair cut but NOW I be like...let’s do this!!! 2 times a year I get it shaped into the style I like. I like a certain shape because I have medium density. I haven’t had a straighten in YEARS so this makes me want to do it!
The stylist did you good. She didn't cut a lot. Try that to another stylist. She wouldn't trim, she will do an actual cut. Your hair came out cut and you are so beautiful as well 🥰🥰
That Southern twang. I love the way you all (British over here) say y'all! My friend from North Carolina says it too and she's white. Lol! Jamaicans say unna/oono and in Barbados we say Wunna.
Fartuna Haji Trimming goes a long way with ppl who wear their natural hair out. It really shapes & enhances the look of your hairstyle. You will love your hair more if you keep it shaped & trimmed. When Taylor goes back to her fro she will be able to tell a difference & it will look & feel better. Well....That’s my experience.
Fartuna Haji You’ll be so happy you did!!! I trimmed my hair 1 month ago, about 2-3” and it’s already grown back. This happens every time I get it trimmed. It’s a 🎁 from my hair right back to me, for ridding it of those raggedy ends🌹
@@karenhorton148 I totally get why people like me don't trim their hair. My hair grows very slowly and is extra super fine so breaks easily. But I'd rather have a short cute afro than knotty, thin, weak, tangled and split ends. I challenged myself to grow my hair out and it is so stressfull! I used to get my ends cut every 6 weeks and now I'm stretching to 16 weeks the tangles are a nightmare. All I do now is wash condition and flat twist my hair with a small bit of oil on the ends. I just keep it wrapped in a scarf and stretched. I also stupidly decided to start this challenge at the beginning of winter when my hair likes to shed and get dry the most. I swear as soon as it gets cold, my follicles go into hibernation and shed my strands like leaves. Lol! I never noticed this when I lived in the tropics!
Your hair is beautiful, but you don't have to trim your hair Everytime you go to the salon. Once apon a time, I had a Jerry curl.😂 It was like a shag. (Short in front and long in back) but everytime I go to the salon, the man would cut my hair. It was not a trim. I wanted my hair to grow longer. So, I stop going and switch back over and now my hair is long.😁
How were you able to maintain it? I’m hesitant to get this done because it costs so much here and my hair usually frizzes back up by the end of the day.
Ava A Use a light hair serum &/or light holding spray to combat against frizz; I love Paul Mitchell’s. Also, try a hair school or use the style seat app to look for affordable hairstylist in your area. If you go to a hair school, requests a seasoned hair stylist Student that specializes in Afro textured hair.
Maybe three inches! You are supposed to get your hair trimmed minimum 3 times a year...minimum every 16 weeks. A trim is supposed to be a quarter of an inch but the longer you leave it the more they have to cut off as the hair starts to split and tangle and knot further up each strand. That's how you end up with uneven, thin, see through ends which no one wants! Unless you are one of these people with really strong hair. I have a friend like that she's mixed white and Latin. No matter what she does her hair would grow down to her butt. But she lives in the tropics so all that hair keeps her to hot so every few months she has been getting a buzz cut and it never breaks off so she has like 4 inches of hair every 4 months!
Depends on the strength of your hair. My hair is super extra fine and assaulted by my environment, polluted winter city with extra hard water. My ends are trash for half the year regardless of trimming. My friend's hair (who is mixed white and Latina) fights the scissors and the clippers when it is time for her buzz cut. Lol! She was say it was so strong, the cut hair was stabbing her in the neck. Lol! My hair couldn't stab butter. Lol! It's so soft and weak.
Marley Hill lol hehe my hair is like ur frens hair!! I hve thick curly 3b hair and it’s very strong ! Maybe try deep conditioning once a week might help strengthen ur hair
@@melissaashley1896 lol! Yeah I deep condition my hair once a week. I found out how extra super duper fine my hair was from the trichologist. They banned me from braiding in cornrows or box braids with or without extension. It causes too much friction on my fine strands and they showed me under a microscope all the cuticle fractured. Needless to say I was horrified. So braided wigs I come. Lol! And it's super duper coily and dry 4c. lol! It's like fine baby hair all over my head! Lol!
You are beautiful Taylor, inside and out! ❤
Aww thank you sweet ❤️
I need a trim but it’s so hard to trust people with my hair 😭
Beautiful hair, and she didn't trim too much. Some people end up with a major haircut. Love your makeup, as well.
Your skin is flawless
Thank you ☺️
After seeing your IG pic with straight hair I've been waiting for this!
Haha it’s here!!
Definitely worth the wait❤️
Shrinkage is real sis but your hair is beautiful both ways
Please don't straighten too too often, very tight coils get damaged very easily with heat... our hair is so delicate.... your hair looks bomb tho, shiny, healthy

What a testament to how very well you care for your hair.
Btw would you recommended the waxing kit you shared with us?❤️🌹
Absolutely!
You're so beautiful, and I love your accent! You from 💙💙Memphis💙, like me???

I was so entertained haha
Haha yay!
FYI - Black hair can be trimmed wet.
It’s so painful for me to watch such beautiful hair being straightened even if it’s just temporarily I don’t know why lol

I avoided humidity at all costs and wrapped my hair at night!
Finally going to salon to get mine trimmed too it’s been 3 years I know she’s going to cut a lot off 😔
I know it’s sad 😞 but it’s the best thing for your hair!
