4:00 this definitely one of the most emotional fights I’ve ever seen in an anime or a Video game. 27:27 I honestly, LOVE the both of them fighting together. They really do make the ULTIMATE tag team!!!
Yasha's an interesting character. The struggle he's having here is one they've built up with some of the flashbacks, but it basically comes down to: the civilization before Deus took over was corrupt. Strada was going to let the Gohma keep rampaging forever, as long as the Demigods could occasionally push them back. Deus's ambition is, in theory, to 'save' the world - but only at the expense of everyone he sees as beneath him, which is essentially everyone. But the way he presents it to Yasha is basically, if we let things keep going on like this, eventually you'll lose everyone you care about anyway thanks to the Gohma rampaging, especially Vlitra - and NOBODY is strong enough to kill Vlitra at this point, even the monster Asura. Deus is promising him a world where Mithra gets to be safe from being used to kill monsters, but he needs her just this once to kill the BIGGEST monster. Having to figure out how to live with giving up his sister's life to save his niece and knowing that Deus in general is using bad means to get to a good end is why Yasha spends so much time behind that mask - and this whole fight, he's rationalizing it. The Brahmastra MUST be stronger than Asura, Deus MUST be right about how to defeat Vlitra, because if Deus's plan isn't necessary, he's given up too much to get there. There's a reason his equivalent to Asura's mantra of Wrath is Melancholy. He's a guy driven by doing what seems to be the 'right' thing no matter the cost, but he's not actually a monster. Which is why he has to get that mask beaten out of him so he can go back to being a human being again... metaphorically speaking, since the Demigods are weird magical cyborgs.
Episode 15 has one of my favorite qtes ever. Dodging asura's attacks until he interrupts yasha's monolog is always fun. It was the hardest episode for me to get s rank on all difficulties. I would recommend when you have time to look through the extras section because here is a lot of lore that you can learn by looking through it
@@DefinitelyNotDefinitiveGames both Deus and General Ironwood are similar, first motivated with good attention to protect their people. But they're both blinded so much by their own pride to accept the idea that their respectives ideas are not the best solution. They want save to save the world and satisfiate their ego at the same time. In the end their selfish desire to be the hero of their story have taken over their original goal.
Yasha asked how Asura got so powerful but as the guy in charge of melancholy he doesn't understand that anger is a very potent motivator. Rage, anger and hatred give a big boost but Wrath form Asura shows how self-destructive it is when you are consumed by it, Literally in his case. Good thing brother-in-law Yasha was able to tap into passion finally to get his own boost to smack Asura out of the state.
This is such a cool game. Asura and Yasha couldn't attack the fortress that Olga is in because it's the same one Mithra is in. I see in the sidebar that there's a currently Members Only video of the "lost episodes" and that vs Ryu is in the thumbnail, so I've said this before but you gotta check out the Boss Rage episode about it because it's hi-larious. Funny you should bring up the girl, because think about the past few episodes. To where you are in the story right now, that massacre took place a mere few hours ago. Deus looks so much like Ganondorf it's great. Speaking of, any interest in playing a Zelda game?
