  • Sobhana's story about menopause focuses on accepting and understanding the changes in your body during midlife with openness. From her early life in India to decades in Canada, Sobhana has learned how the experience of menopause varies by culture.
Her message focuses on learning and self-education about menopause, encouraging consideration of a variety of treatment practices. She shares the importance of connecting with how your body is feeling, and noticing how it responds to changes or treatments. This focus on self-care paired with thoughtful research has allowed her to advocate for herself from an informed place. Ultimately, Sobhana hopes for a future where we can support one another through life changes such as perimenopause with compassion.
The content entails exploring diverse treatment options for perimenopause and menopause symptoms. It's important to understand that menopause affects each individual uniquely, so there is no one-size-fits-all solution. Prioritizing a healthy lifestyle, self-care, and exploring traditional methods alongside standard medication is crucial for managing menopause symptoms and promoting overall well-being.
    ➡️ Tingling & Shocks
Sensations of tingling or numbness are fairly common during the menopause transition, and may sometimes include painful feelings akin to electric shocks. Tingling and electric shock sensations are a type of peripheral neuropathy. This is the general term for symptoms that result when your peripheral nervous system (all the nerves other than those in your brain and spinal cord) is damaged or impaired in some way. When this happens, nerves send abnormal signals that result in painful or uncomfortable sensations.
Some specific conditions with similar sensations, such as trigeminal neuralgia, are more common in women and people older than 50

    ➡️ ➡️ Nutritional Therapy
Eating a balanced and healthy diet is crucial for overall health at all stages of life. Matching what you put into your body to what your body needs during menopause is a manageable and customizable option to influence any symptoms you are experiencing, whether they are hot flashes, mood swings or sleep problems.
Some researchers have also considered how diet can influence the age at which women reach menopause, and protect from longer-term impacts of perimenopause including osteoporosis and heart disease.

    ➡️ ➡️ Mind Body Wellness
Mind body wellness therapies, or mind body therapies are a group of healing techniques that create a feeling of relaxation and are known to improve overall health and well-being. They range from meditation and mindfulness-based stress reduction to yoga and meditative movement such as tai chi and qigong.
Mind body therapies are safe and effective ways to provide relief from many physical and emotional symptoms while improving coping skills in people who are experiencing chronic health conditions - including women suffering as a result of menopausal transition symptoms.
