ONE BIG THING! I forgot to mention this in the video for Assist Kinsect Users. Using the *Foebeetle (rarity 2 - Defense)* is SUPER comfy. Grab White when you start a hunt and recall immediately. *You'll get orange and white before the monster roars which then cancels out the roar because earplugs activates!* Then while the monster roars, you get red from the head since roaring is the easiest time to get red and jump in dmg without wasting time! Throughout the hunt, you can continue this pattern of getting white and orange so you never get roar stunned.
@@SkySenseiVB so I been playing around with just doing hunts with only my kinsects... I'm kinda floored at the damage they do... I cut tails and break all parts then trap it at the end. Its scary how much damage they can do. XD

I hate slow insects. My play is waaayyy to fast for my insect to catch up on me. My playstyle is fast and based off reaction. Sometimes using the double color insect, in the middle of a fight i farm the red, jump up in the air perform my combo, and my fucken insect never reaches me so i didnt get the aerial attack with the red color in!! Yeah idk slow insects arent for me.
The Tetraseal allows for some incredibly aggressive hunts. I've got two styles with it, healing support and the "hammer" glaive. The healer might be a support set but it probably makes for more DPS than any other IG. The Tetraseal lets you mark the monster constantly. There's almost always green clouds going up keeping everyone in the action and healed up thanks to it being an area effect, letting your whole team play aggressively, including your Kinsect. Unlike the other powders, the clouds work even if the monster is gone and it doesn't need any buildup to work. A bonus is you can mark targets you want broken to encourage your team to attack it. You can also help your team out even if you don't have the triple up yet. The "hammer" glaive is a real stunner. The blunt assist Kinsect does big damage, has near instant buffs, and with the Tetraseal can hit the head consistently causing a lot of stuns. It's a more simple build but is a lot of fun and doesn't require much thought. As an IG main, I've always wanted to KO monsters.
I'm a bit of a mixed bag with IG, I'll be up in the air most of the time, but I'll also drop onto the ground when the monster is immobilized or when there's an opening. Assist really appeals to me not just because of the fast extract gathering and the active damage, but because while I'm in the air, my kinsect's stamina will be regenerating, and while I'm on the ground, my own stamina is regenerating. There's a bit of a balance to it, and I like that! In MHGU, I mostly used my kinsects to just get the triple up, then never send them out until it wears off. That habit has since transferred over to Rise. The assist kinsects really suits my playstyle well and keeps them active despite them just staying on my arm the majority of the fight, making my damage much better than it would've been otherwise.
Je suis monté! Been playing IG since its release. Loving the options we have this generation. Very informative video, thanks for the timestamps. Subbed!
I've watched to many of these, HOWEVER.... Why does no content creator mention that for their favorite Assist Kinsect that the guaranteed Extract (attack=red, speed=white, defense=orange) only lasts for HALF the duration? Now of course this doesn't matter if you get the Triple Buff, since that lasts a set amount of time as soon as you get all 3 and that is the same for all kinsects, but because of the half duration on the dual extracts, you NEED to stop and collect your triple buff, no longer allowing you to say, just use Red and White and grab just the one as they're about to run out as some did in previous MH games. Of course, Triple Buff should be grabbed regardless as it gives such good earplugs now and is needed for many of the special abilities of the kinsect. It's just that this half duration is something to note. Attack=Red is the popular one as it always opens up the combo, but Red notoriously lasts the shortest. Though I've not checked if it is still the same in Rise, in previous MH games, Red already had the shortest duration, followed by White, then Orange. Most will take Attack=Red since that will allow you to even get red from small monsters that don't offer it, but for large monsters, it may be really easy to always get red with it's head or claws facing you and something like Speed=White or Defense=Orange may be better to take to make your extract gathering easier. Extra note: Leaping Slash is great in its accuracy, however the Advancing Roundslash works as a counter in that once you leap, you cannot take damage. This is something big if you get the timing down as the Insect Glaive does not (never has) any defensive like capabilities before and could only roll out of the way or try to jump over the attack. If used right, the Advancing Roundslash can also vault you into the air for a quick aerial combo. Final extra note: Aerial MV's have been super buffed in this game too. Before Aerial was generally a joke and only used with Elemental (since elemental damage doesn't care about the attack's MV's). In World, the Strong Jumping Advancing Slash 6 hit combo had 6/4/7/4/3/32 for the MV's. As you can see, all the damage was pushed onto just the last hit, with everything else doing nothing without Elemental or Status added to it. However in Rise, the values are at 16/16/15/15/14/20. Not only spreading out the damage, but an overall increase in +71% more MV values than ever before. Still dealing strong Elemental and Status applications too. To add, new to Rise, while in all MH games, you could do 3 of the previous combo's in the air, in Rise, each successive combo in the air has it's MV's further boosted by +10%, making the second combo hit for 18/18/17/17/16/22 and the third combo in the air becomes 20/20/18/18/17/24. That's honestly pretty insane. FURTHERMORE, the more air combo's you do, the stronger the Diving Wyvern silkbind is boosted. If used after the first combo, a +20% boost, after the second, a +30% boost and after the final third combo, a +40% boost! The Diving Wyvern already has an insane 80 MV. This can turn it into a 96/104/112 MV move!!! With the right armor skills and buffs, this can easily hit for over 1k damage now, when without being buffed at all by aerial combo's it only deals 350-500 damage. AERIAL INSECT GLAIVE IS FINALLY NO LONGER A MEME! Je Suis Monte! My IG using friends = ^ . ^ = (added the final extra note before finishing the video, so yay, looks like you at least know about the aerial boosts, but now you have numbers)
I quite agree with the Dual Color (Attack) kinsects, this is through my experience, it's either me being noob shit or it is really the game. With the kinsect with Dual Color (Attack), unless Kulu-Ya-Ku pull up the rock, you could never get Orange buff else where, at all.
Tornado is being used over Tetraseal by speedrunners due to mobility. The end lag with Tetraseal is what lets it down even if you recall Kinsect. I tried Tetraseal out and while I like it I ended up going back to Tornado. Same for Advancing Slash actually I prefer Leaping.
@@kbrxion5620 It locks you in and makes you less mobile. There's a reason why speedrunners aren't using it. Same reason why they're still using leaping slash because the other too make the moveset too clumsy.
Just want to say with the speed kinsect section, in Rise your kinsect doesn’t need to be sent out to recall it. Even with other types of kinsect recalling to animation cancel is really good.
Just as a side note: you can do the recall cancel with any type of kinsect after any attack even if it is resting on your arm, you don't need to send it out first. And it isn't exactly a new mechanic but rather a returning one, for some reason they just decided it was a good idea to remove it in World.
Something really important comparing the Tetra slash is that you can cancel the Tornado Slash animation with Kinsect Recall (even if you already have it over your arm) and you go back to neutral instantly, allowing you to combo again. I still didn't test the DPS difference since when you have the Tetraseal Slash you deal more damage since your insect is attacking more times, whereas with the Tornado Slash you hit harder and cancelling the animation you start again your combo usually with the X route
This is my first Monster Hunter and maybe I don't know the deepest strategies yet, but the Dual Color (Attack) really seems the be The One. I remember all those hunts before I got the rarity 4, struggling to get the red buff. Never again!
Its definitely the most convenient and probably the most used one. Its just too comfy to not use haha. You don't need to focus kinsect attacks and get dual colours. Too good!! ^_^ Charged chain attack would be my second kinsect, but beyond that, I don't use the others haha
Oooo you forgot to mention that Tetrosil Slash also acts like a counter/guardpoint in that, if you're hit during the combo instead of taking a hit, you will instead be launched into the air to continue from there, it also pairs with the hidden combo counter for Diving Wyvern. For everytime you land your vaulting dance to re-launch yourself your hidden charge/combo counter goes up 1 (for a max of 3 OR a max of 4 if paired with Tetrosil) and it will MASSIVELY increase the damage output of Diving Wyvern.
