I installed mine yesterday, just a tip if you are trying to pass the wire through the right section since the area is too tight I used vaseline along with a fishing fire, it was very smooth. Overall I agree it is an easy upgrade and worth every penny very very useful.
Frankly I was concerned that the lights would be too bright based on the videos I watched. The brightness is just about right. Not as bright as it looks on the videos but more than enough. Oh, and plug it into the existing hatch light last.
@rpasco9352 I've sadly seen so many "short cuts" in my rav4 so far. Good quality, just lots of minimal things that would have been easy fixes by toyota.
Why didn't Toyota just put lights in the liftgate as a factory install? My Saturn Vue (2007, low-end SUV) had liftgate lights, that we're on/off with the other interior lights.
Hi, I followed your video but I think my fuse blew out too. For whatever reason my powerty lights won’t turn on at all. How were you able to get them to work?
I would think it's just the fuse. Replaced it and in correct? I recall mine didn't work either until I turned the fuse around. Otherwise it would be the harness but it's pretty plug-n-play.
@@themr.kiddnetwork5715 I don’t know anything about electricity or fuses… my powerty lights came with some clear tubes with metallic ends. Would it have to do with any of these that can replace the fuse?
OMG. The whole time, I didn’t realize that the clear cylinders with the metallic ends were the fuse! I know you mentioned it in your video, but was confused because I didn’t see the a spare plastic covering that I thought would be the fuse. But, I had it installed correctly. I opened the plastic covering and found the fuse. the fuse did indeed blow out. I used the spares that came with product and replaced it. Boom! Now it works!!
That was definitely not recommended to leave the existing wiring powered. A totally unnecessary hazard. Simply remove the existing fuse, temporarily. ---------- Of course the right-side wire can be zip-tied ! Use any hole that is NOT for trim panel attachment. ---------- Sheesh ! Just think this task through just a little bet ahead of time.
I don't recall seeing any variants in color, but if you're good at wiring, u could buy red LEDs and use the housing; replacing the LEDs. Lots of work but hey! Custom.
Этот свет также можно заменить на самом деле. Я не уверен, что для этого подойдет лучший светодиод, но думаю, что что-то универсальное должно подойти. Мой еще очень тусклый.
Connected mine directly to the battery(fused ofcourse) for manual on/off. Better privacy, and only turn them on when I need them.
Great Idea!
The car’s battery or a small standalone battery? Can you share details?

You need to replace all your interior lights with LEDs, makes a huge difference. I also replaced the window switches with lighted ones.
Yes! On my list. I also want to install lit door switches. I have a hitch and spare tire mount coming as well.
On the 2023, they are LED in the front, just a fyi
@@MichaelLazarov also on the 2023 is lights for the door switches.
10:50 is a sexy car, bro.
I wish they made this for the 2018.

Zip-tie all loose sections of cable, otherwise they will rattle around inside the hard plastic trim. Do you think Toyota leaves them loose like that ?

Thank you
You should stand in front of the camera more
Good job
Does the light on the rear quarter panel come on when the new ones are installed? Doesn't look like it came on in the video.
It does not. Just the two new lights. I think if u have it flipped on, it will tho. Never paid much attention to it.
Been 8 months . How are they working?
Still working like a charm!

@pf5846 haha it happens! Glad it came with a back up right! Lol

Anyone know if these come in red

Not an easy install....to pass thru the wiring thru the rubber gromet
If you lubricate the wire it goes really smooth.
Yea after seeing this video, I think I will go with the battery version.
You did in the opposite way ,😅
?
А в салоне почему такой тусклый свет,когда поменяешь там? 😃
