Thanks, I couldn't stop laughing at that "Guy" !! I bet that child's mother is looking for her tights not much imagination went into that. When I was a kid we made a Guy every year and pushed it around on a bogey collecting door to door singing " We come a cob a coalin "Do you remember the song or is it just a northern thing?. The big night came when we chucked Guy on the fire, and the neighbors all mucked in with the food, black peas, tatty hash, and parking. treacle toffee. I loved it!. In those days the fireworks were not as loud as they are now. Sorry to go on you just brought back a wonderful memory for me!. Your mother must have been very proud when you got the prize he was very good!.. Thank you 👏👏👏👏

Jules, please don't apologise for sharing great memories like those. I think that song may be a Northern thing, I don't remember it. Perhaps anyone reading this, from the south, might have a better memory. As for the rest of your memories, they brought back memories of my own with all the neighbours pitching in, with food and drink (I think a few who weren't on firework duty had a good night !). Yes great memories and glad you got a laugh out of it. It's why I thought I'd share. Thankyou again.G
