  • Will we always despise Starvo? Or will we, someday, look back on him with a begrudging reverence that we were lucky to witness?
    Special thanks to ‪@FlukeAndBox‬ for graciously letting me use his interview with James White to dunk on Starvo.

    I absolutely love how you manage to weave a story together so cleanly between those two topics. Excellent storytelling from start to finish. :)

    omg the caligula quote!!! the artist lingua ignota has an incredible album based around that single quote!!

      Haha! I was very hesitant to include the quote, but the more people I talked to about Starvo, the more I heard a community who still fear his existence, despite him being long gone.

    As much as I hated him at the time, some of my best fab memories was of Bravo-Prism matches with me playing Prism, 2 hour long games that no one had the heart to call time on because it was a local armory. I like to think many NBA players will have similar memories of Harden and already do. Another great video!

      Thanks for the kind words! And I totally agree. It seems almost inevitable to look back and laugh on it, even though some players (at the time) legit thought Starvo spelled the death of balance in FAB. Many NBA fans thought similarly of Harden. "Well, if Harden gets to do this, I don't want to watch basketball anymore." Then, of course, some rules change, Harden aged out of his constant foul-hunting (kinda), and equilibrium was restored.

      Thanks my friend! I appreciate the kind words. I spent quite a while on my couch just thinking about Starvo. Who he is and why people didn't like him. When James Harden busted into my brain like the kool-aid man 😂

    This was really good. It did miss the slap on the wrist he took when LSS finally acted though. They took poor Viserai out back and put him down, winked at Prism and gave Starvo a slight tap on the back of the hand while he did his victory lap… I’m still just a bit salty.

    • @gorganiantome
      @gorganiantome  Год назад +2

      Ah you're right! I should have included that. Maybe I can do a short one on Blitz Viserai and tell that story and then include the ban story in CC as a spinoff from how crazy that was in Blitz haha.

      No, to James Harden ;) I just used Caligula's quote to set up the concept of hate and fear of a (meta) tyrant 😂
