    The theoretical concept isn’t the part that is hard, it’s coming up with such a good fucking song that is hard. The melodies are beautiful, the rhythm is tight and right in the pocket, the lyrics are written in a way that illustrates a scene perfectly, and when done live you get treated to the best singing faces of all time.

    • @lettucekisses
      @lettucekisses 2 года назад +6

      Some minds just different you know. You can teach a person to write a song but it would never be as good as someone who is so in-touch with the music they’re playing. It’s like the force from Star Wars, give yourself to the music, hold nothing back. Some people just don’t have that. Best example is probably hendrix in terms of someone that is so incredibly in-touch with the music. If you played hendrix to someone that had never heard or seen hendrix then asked them to draw the embodiment of that music, they would draw hendrix.

    Mayer is such a legendary musician that loves music and wants to spread the love of music. He's the most down to earth famous person I've ever seen. He truly cares about mucic more than money and fame. That makes him the best musician of the century in my book. I'm not even into his style of music but i still learn because what he is saying and teaching makes music of all genres make more sense.

    I was trying to find out why double stops are called double stops. What exactly does the stop part mean? First, it can also be a triple stop or even quadruple. It comes from the violin. As I understand it, it’s simply playing any note that’s not an open string. Double stops can have an open string though, despite what the term “stop” implies. It’s usually called fingering, but I think they mean the same thing. If anyone knows more, please feel free to comment.

    • @PowMusic
      @PowMusic  2 года назад

      Really not sure of the origin, but I do know like you said, it's a term from stringed instruments like the cello. You can maybe think of the stop like "stopping on a point on the string, and a double stop is stopping on a point on two strings simultaneously. Other words to describe playing two notes together, but not three are just naming the interval "a sixth, a third", could be a "diad" which is two notes of a triad, but not all three...

    • @Dan.Solo.Chicago
      @Dan.Solo.Chicago 2 года назад

      @@PowMusic I think your right about the stopping point thing, considering how all notes are a matter of the length of the string. Fingering a note is certainly a stopping a point.

    Yeah but why is he naming the song " slow dancing etc etc" he has not earned that honor to be verbalizing a song by name,( like everyone instantly recognizes him and the song.( he's not one of the Beatles.) He's not Paul McCartney saying'" Okay this is the key to blackbird."
    His music is not going to go on generation after generation ( ware he has to name his song like it's so iconic)
    This guy unfortunately will fade out.The songs are not going to be remembered unless there is a name in front of it. Meaning someone will say his name and then speak slow dancing ,etc etc.. whereas with a Beatles you don't have to say the Beatles and then speak a song people will identify the song just by saying Sergeant pepper or just by saying Blackbird do you know Blackbird do you know Sergeant pepper do you know Helter skelter do you know ....so on.You don't have to say" do you know The Beatles ,and the song Sargent pepper....Get it ... There's a big difference! this guy's a legend in his own mind.
    Also what would this guy do without without guitar pedals ,without guitar pedals he wouldn't be famous right now.
    Same with Pink Floyd. Although there is sound effects in the music David Gilmore didn't have to have sound effects to become a famous guitar player. Also you don't have to speak his name to say "do you know do you know another brick in the Wall."
    I promise you in 30 years from now if you say do you know Slow dancing in Etc... without saying this guy's name first no one will be able to identify it only if your still a fan. Probably in 30 years no one will even remember the name with the song.
    How come generation after generation people know the Beatles Pink Floyd etc.
    This guy is milking the same guitar melody like it's a classic, like he's Mozart.

      What kind of crack are you smoking? He's literally been around for more than 20 years. He's considered one of the greatest blues guitar players of all time. He's played with the greats. Everyone in the mainstream and musician world knows who he is, and he has a list of radio hits that are still being played today...after 20 years.
      He had a signature guitar with Fender and now has one with PRS which he is playing in the video. Guitar players all around the world are playing his guitar and his songs. And this guitar is literally PRS's most popular guitar. Having his name attached to the guitar gave it legitimacy because of his skill as a musician.
      But, your opinion is way off base, so I don't know if you are just trolling or are really old and haven't listened to music passed 1975.
      You don't have to remember the names of his songs to understand the impact he's already had on the music world.
      No one is The Beatles or Pink Floyd. That's an impossible standard. You can insert anyone's name into your rant and have it be true. But, most of those names don't have their name etched into a guitar, or have people learning to play like him.
      I'm not even a fan of his music,
