She's not just dancing, she is the percussion! 👍🎶
What a lady!!!
Yuuup
What a joy
I'm a hard rock guy, but I love this stuff too. This is good old fashioned talent, not the pure garbage on the radio today. That lady in green is really enjoying herself, nice and relaxed.
And that is so good to see.
This here takes more skill to play then to be in a marching band god bless the fiddlers
I like almost all sorts of music. From this country music, old time music, to even a bit of jazz. Jazz the least as it 'wanders' off the melody too much for me. I even like country, gospel, rock, rap.
The band seems to light up a little when she started dancing.
Another miserable boomer who can't praise something without complaining about life "today".
Who does not feel good listening and watching?
Happy music.
Thumbs up from Scotland
Sounds so good when they start off, have to admit there’s something about a dancer engaging on percussion that completes it.
My great uncle born in 1898 would play his fiddle, but the the hobnail boots would start up on the wood. Just made you lean into it.
This music makes me very happy. Beautiful American culture! Greetings from Argentina.
Sehr Gut Kameraten ! Essen und Whiskey !
This culture was bought over by the Irish. This kind of music is still played there today!
@Uncle Gilbert The origins of traditional Irish music is well documented and is widely known to have originated over 2000 years ago. That was before any English came to America.
@@michaelbreslin2403 English traditional music was also around at that time!! Before any white people went to america
this particular tune was composed by a Cajun american - Balfa
No matter how much you hear it or see it, you cannot tire it even if you hear it a million times
Really, REALLY?
@@anthonytaylor9232 Sure, couple of times and then a break.
You should go to a bluegrass festival. It's very Zen.
@@harrymills2770 A Guy once told me, "if you have a Banjo, the Best way to make money is, Threaten to Play it !

The best buck dancing I have ever seen. She was so "on beat" that it was like adding a fifth instrument to the band.
the best comment a buckdancer could have! thanks!
I'm a Newbie, absolutely Love this !! Thank you all !!!!
Absolutely! Real musicality in your work. Different tones from Miss Moonshine enhances the group. Well done!
@@MissMoonshineDance It's true. I thought the very same thing!
If you close your eyes it is very true. 5th instrument..
It reminds me of when I was a kid mom and dad would move the furniture out of the way and the whole family would dance to whatever. Damn life was so simple no cell phone no computer and we still had a blast.
Sure we all believe you lol
@@tomakafrankconlon3207 hahahaha!
@Frank Colon Are you serious? I think we need to see more of this. It is the musical history of America. I'd like to see music and dance from all over the US.
It almost seems the dancer is floating at times. Great music too!
I grew up like that in Canada too
This music and dancing makes me smile really big. Guess it's my ancestors inside stirring me up.
My ancestors are Irish. When I hear music like this I don't just smile, I'm up and as we say from the bay in Newfoundland, I step it out. Self taught from watching my father step it out. Sorry, a smile doesn't cut it. A minimum of tapping your feet while sitting and making an attempt while standing, lol. Good luck
not heard better better anywhere !......that little gal flatfootin has it down don't she!...East Tennessee here, KEEP FIDDLING GIRL'S!! ....awesome!
Western North Carolina...love it...!!!
"Little Gal" is from Georgia, via NY

That was awesome! You had me tapping my feet and clapping my hands. Love from England. 🏴
An Ancient Mariner Yeaaah, Love from Denmark too!!!!
the same here..regards from Germany
Love you Miss Moonshine, although if you lived here in Ireland we'd have to call you Miss Poitin. 🇮🇪
I’m tapping my feet as well, but I’m sitting on my bed. Love the lady Ms Moonshine ❤
This does my heart good with all that is going on in the US. GOD please bless and protect this country...that is full of great Americans like these in the video!
You`re on Drugs. This makes me want to run around bare foot chasing chickens & roll around in a pig pen full of shit !!!
@@thegman00 Who are you kidding? You do that anyway. As if you needed musical accompaniment for an excuse...
This is worth fighting for
Bunch of goddamned idiots to be politicizing music and musicians. Pretty much you are about as UNAmerican as it gets if you consider yourself to be something more than others. Go look up the word community.
We are, all of us, Americans, and that ONLY if we do not judge our fellow citizens. I am in Kentucky right now and I see some of the most sophisticated equipment in the world every day that allows you guys to get your devices delivered to you quickly. Y'all have no clue what it took to get this nation to this point if you are traipsing around pissing and moaning and looking for someone to blame for some imagined problem. Like Rodney King said... "Why can't we all get along?"
@@cosmicraysshotsintothelight sorry Gar, but YOU just judged others by calling me, us, we, “IDIOTS”. You lose.
God didn’t see fit to give me any talent toward singing, dancing or playing music on any instrument. But he did bless me with this little bitty phone so I could listen and watch others who are blessed.
Allen Waldrop- that is one of the coolest comments I've ever read. You are blessed, indeed!
My great granny used to do that dance. What sweet memories for me. You folks are great.
What a wonderful memory. Thanks for sharing. How did she dress when she did the Buck Dance?
Mee Maw dressed in a moo moo
Mt airey down the road from my late pa god bless country music apalachian style
Watching little Ms Moonshine buckdancing gives me so much joy and is so wonderful to behold. What a beautiful gal.
I live in Ontario Canada , and grew up camping in the eighties , my father played in all the old time fiddle contests , in hensall , petrolia , shellBourne and others , I was lucky to grow up and experience this exact thing , to bad you don't see this much anymore
do you have some footage of those fests?
Sorry , no cellphones back then , and only a few pictures and memories ! Thankyou for carrying on this tradition !
The track gets lively when the foot tapping takes off. Brilliant piece. Great musicians and dancer too.
THanks, Quentin. What kinds guitar do you play?
Brilliant traditional style music with all the purity and a great dancer awesome viewing from Northern Ireland greatly appreciated ☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️
That lady was tops on buckdancing.
Classic americana baby! So nice and easy on the ears
Brilliant, loved it, the woman doing the tap, fantastic!
This is called Buck Dancing, I believe. Very similar to tap dancing, with older European roots.
God bless us Hugenottes!
It's all wonderful! Love the Dancing and the music. From Scotland
Encore!
A major portion of the roots of this 'American' music came from Scotland! As did my family in 1750.
Norther Ireland, Ulster Scots!

Hello to you. My best wishes to a real Cajun person. Love and peace from Yorkshire England.

I love it, greetings from Australia.
Add me to that. Fine playing and dancing!
Wow, that music you just wanna move to it 🥰🥰🥰
I just love these old fiddle tunes. The strumer must get ribbon for her steady going. Now I know you guys.
why haven't you subscribed then?
One look at Miss Moonshine's calf muscles and I knew she could dance like this all day. Wonderful to watch, thanks for posting this video.
Great jamming. The dancer adds such a fine touch to the performance.
Nice sapateado the dancing lady has a lots of energy greetings from the super ancient megalithic city of TIAHUANAKU BOLIVIA 🇧🇴. 😊
tiahuanaku - cool
This just made my night. Take me away to a place where I magically dance like this and the music is always going!
so sweet a thought
Love it! Fascinating that the music and dancing appears to be a fusion of Irish, Scots & Northern English and it's morphed into this wonderful music and dancing.
The dancing you referenced is called the "Barnyard Shuffle" I'm from Kentucky that's what the old folks called it. Its actually hard to do requires great cardio.
Yea I live in Northern England of Scottish Irish descent and have travelled both Ireland and Scotland (lot of music pubs) and I can see where American folk music originates .
Yes Sir, my ancestors came from the same areas as yours. Born in Kentucky, a lot of the mountain people there play that kind of music.
The Scots Irish brought it over here in the mid-1700's. People from that era brought their music, and because of isolation, has changed a little, but not a lot.
@@michellekosek1721 Yes I'm aware of that as my ancestors came from that part of the world.
Wow! These folks are in the zone and killing it. So good...so in sync. Beautiful.
Your movements are so fluid, so beautiful and you make it look so effortless, but we, all of your fans, know that to watch you dance, is to watch pure talent and grace!
Guess that's what they mean when saying 'fit as a fiddle'go the buck dancer glad I clicked on it 😂😂
This takes me back.... I grew up in Western North Carolina and this flat-footing a lot of people did but the buck dance I remember is where they would swing the leg so much that the knees would come almost up to your chest . I had a cousin that used to travel all around the country with contests for buck dancing .
I miss BBQ, Livermush, and going with Nana to watch bluegrass and clog.
Love when people come over & join in! Thats what this music is about...
Hats off to you that was really good thank God there are people like you who keep the tradition alive
What a fine and interesting group of folks.
The clogging and music is wonderful. Thank you for sharing your talents.
Ms. Moonshine is always a joy! Love her. The group is awesome too!
This is terrific. We need more from all over the US.
ooweeeeeeee!!!!!!!! That gal sure is light on her feet!!!!
Her calves look like bowling pins... Work em out..
About 120 lb.

So reminds me of Bluegrass Festival that's in Winfeild Kansas every year! People comes every year from all over the country, n plays together in the camp grounds. Have 4 stages in grandstand area that top groups ,bluegrass play. So much fun. N it's family originated. It's a blast, so friendly!!
She is marvellous.
When she started dancing it all became magical! I love it!❤
two thumbs up, one for the band, one for the dancer.

The dancing lady is the hardest "musician" there. AND she's very, very good!
Sorry, Should read "hardest working musician there".
Such happy feet. My voice coach (Many years ago) barked at me on the first day we met "Get into tap"! I should have listened to her.
Miss Moonshine - what a woman - ‘ nuff said !!

I go to the Black Mountains every year and listen to The Mountain Dance and Folk Festival on AM radio. Makes me feel young again. Always wished I lived there. My favorite.
This just made my day!! Well play and danced. The banjo mando is added cherry on top.
Nothing like it anywhere else in the world. Love listening to this! this is why I won't put taps on my shoes...on the sidewalk, in the mall, I'd never stop. fiddlers would be my keepers, like a drug. How can you not dance..

Hey - that'd even make a Dutch Reformed Minister dance!
Excellent and What Fun!!!
Now she is a champion buck dancer , I love this ol tune and they play it very well only thing is it makes me homesick. I'm an old and retired and am heading for the hills. I'm gonna sit on my porch play my guitar try writing a new song or two and look at the mountains for a month. Then I'ma gonna get lazy.. 😆
I sent my daughter Sarah to tap dancing and ballet but she never reached the pinnacle of perfection shown by Miss Moonshine; pure poetry, synchronised, and subtly resonating kinetic harmonics; sweet movement, delightful rhythm. If I could get a gallon of the 'real old mountain dew' down me, I would try that foot stomping myself; "I'll eat if I'm hungry and drink if I'm dry, and if Moonshine keeps me standing, I'll drink 'till I die. " xxxx
Tap is harder and frustrating. Maybe daughter could check out my free lesson playlist and try again. The beauty of folk music is that its accessible to all, not exclusive to elite performers (e.g. tap and ballet dancers)
Yeeeeeeeee haaaaaaaaaa. This is beeeeeutiful. Love it. Love you guys. Wish I was there with ya'll.

You like our “freedoms” here huh? There at risk temporaraly. Glad to have you sir
I've lived in TN my entire life and i never knew Tennessee clogging was a thing
Them there freedoms, yes those who think they walk on water believe only their ideas of freeDom are real freedoms. Like music it is different
This is awesome. I absolutely love Appalachian culture, this is Americana at its finest. Cheers Miss Moonshine 😀
