  • Hi guys!
    In this pattern I'll show you how to make this top. The start takes some calculations, but once you have done that, it is no longer difficult and it goes nice and fast. We start with a square yoke with a V in the front which you can make less deep if you want. The stitch I use is the knit stitch also known as the waistcoat stitch and the pattern is in US terms.
    I used 2.5 skeins of Ice Yarns Baby AntiBacterial in the color hunter green www.iceyarns.c... (of course you can use other number 2 yarn), 5 mm crochet hook and 4 stitchmarkers.

      @@2LOOPZcrochet The way you explain and show the calculations for tops, cardigans etc are very very helpful. It made me wonder if perhaps, if it's no trouble. Could you teach us the best methods for crocheting skirts, dresses with certain stitches. Some stitches like the Ripple, Star, Trinity, Pineapple etc are lovely but it makes me wonder how to do decreases and increases for shaping the waist, hips, armholes, neckline etc. If this is a bother, please just ignore! No hassles. 😁♥️

      Oh no, no bother at all. A very easy trick to shape the waist is to crochet that part with a hook one size smaller. You can make this top into a dress also😉 just make it longer. I have a couple of projects that I need to finish but I see if I can design a skirt and dress that is easy to make. You can also look at the Stella Dress ruclips.net/video/Rnc2yA3W8nU/видео.html which is very easy to make as well.

      @@2LOOPZcrochet Thank you! Oh. That's a great idea of using a smaller hook for the shaping. Ahhh! You're right about making this too into a dress. 😍 I'll be sure to check the pattern out.
      Thank you so much for your response! ❤️ 🙏🏾🤗

    Great tutorial, have you try it with a different stitch than sc, thanks

      Hi Isabel, thanks! I tried to make it all in knit stitch and I tried to make the yoke with extended sc, but it wasn't as pretty as I wanted. You can always try to use a different stitch if you want, I would love to see your result!

    Can you use any weight yarn if you are taking measurements and using the calculations? Just curious!

    • @2LOOPZcrochet
      @2LOOPZcrochet  Год назад +1

      Yes I think you can! If you use a thicker yarn probably the end result will look a bit different, but I think it still look great. A thinner yarn will definitely look nice. Love to see your result!

      @@2LOOPZcrochet thanks! I'm actually working on it now with a worsted weight. I can't seem to get the hang of the waistcoat stitch so I'm just using sc but because we are stitching in the round once we get to the v it still has a variation. So it looks nice so far :) I'm going onto the sleeve holes right now. I just have an issue with the top of the v so I need to make an applique I think. Kind of bummed about it but what can I do. It's my first one :) Thank you! It's such a pretty top

      Thank you Lori glad you like it! Don't be so hard on yourself, for a first time you're doing great💪. You can try making a round of sc along the neckline, maybe this will make the V a bit neater.
