The Yamato 大和, "Great Harmony" is the pinnacle of battleship design and is without a doubt one of the most beautiful warships ever constructed. She was the largest and most powerful battleship in the world and the best known Japanese navel ship. She is sadly remembered for her sinking in April 1945. Built in complete secrecy and born to terrify her enemies she cost over $8 Billion U.S dollars and today remains an enduring symbol of Japanese navel might.
