Hey!! I’m interested in learning g the bass guitar but the thing is....I’ve never really played an instrument before. Any tips on how/where to start??

@Ben Mahoney Go on yt and find the beginner’s tutorial videos, and teach yourself easy covers (smoke on the water, another one bites the dust, etc) to begin with. Don’t bother with theory for the moment, only start that when you feel ready. Also play fingers first, and make sure your technique is good, because you can only get better if your technique is good. Just wondering, do you have a bass yet?

1.learn the basic techniques (both fretting and plucking)
2.learn the basic concepts of music theory
3. slowly develop your musical ear (guys like scott's bass lessons and Luke from how to become a bassist have good tips)
4. learn to read music (either tabs or notation but learning both is better)
5. practise playing along with 'play-along' tabs (starting with simple songs like toto-africa)
also remember to practise with a metronome. Good luck :)
