it looks like it was left trigger to switch characters but I have no idea how to play it with a controller. But you can switch characters and pick yourself up and then go get a heal. That seems like it might have just been an overlooked issue with the tutorial, not great, but it happens, the game changes so much from every playthrough I'm sure it was hard for the devs to think of everything.

6:29 you could have changed which character you control and used Lae'zel to bring yourself back to life. Also remember that environmental damage is a thing and fire hurt.

Should’ve known! *Fire bad* 😂 I figured it out the next time I died (which of course was basically immediately haha!)

A few points. You have an action, a bonus action, movement, and a reaction each turn. You can use the DASH action to use your action to double your movement as your action. Pick up backpacks and pouches, don't just loot them. You can organize your stuff in them. You can acess your whole team's inventory on anyones turn, even use other people's bags and potions as a bonus action. Quit moving your characters away after each move, things get to attack you that way, and you lose ground. They are more forgiving of it in the tutorial, but later in the game that will get you killed, unless it is worth the risk of taking damage for a better position. If you want to disengage, you need to do it before you move away, but it counts as your action that turn. Unless you have an ability to use it as a bonus action like a rogue. Also the chance they will move away from you and you get a free attack on them is another reason to stay close. However, ranged attacks are at disadvantage when you are next to an enemy, which means basiclly two D20s are rolled and the value of the lowest is used.
You also don't have to heal every time you get hit, you will use up your healing resources quickly. You can also make Shadowheart tell the devil to drop his sword with the command spell, and pick it up with Lazel, you get a huge two handed flaming sword that way. Certain abilities like lacerate or Lae'zel's ability to heal herself can be used once per short rest, or once per long rest. So you want to use those when most needed. Don't look at just the damage, look at the effects of it. Your spell slots are blue when you have them available for use, you get them back on a long rest as a druid.

Also, running through fire burns you 😛Use your ranged cantrips to do damage or kill the little brains while still at a distance before they get to you. Then hit them when they get close.

To add to those tips: you can do things in any order you like. So you can for example move a little, do a bonus action, move a little more and then do your main action. Specifically attacking someone with your staff and THEN casting Schillelagh is tactically the wrong order of doing things.
Disengage is only used for escaping enemy melee range, not separating from your companions.
Later on, the intellect devourers only have a strong melee attack, which you know from controlling Us earlier. So your best bet against them is keeping you distance; shoot/cast and retreat. Also character in DnD on low levels are really squishy, so you need all the advantages you can get, sneaking for surprise attack, buff spells before engaging in combat etc.

You have no idea how many times I was shouting "JUST DO A MAIN HAND ATTACK!" at the screen during your fight. :D Also... the game is optimized for KB and mouse. Playing with a controller makes a lot of things more complicated than they need to be.

Hahahahah I’m still learning! Always have to check how much damage a move does because I always forget🥹🥹😂 Thank you for watching!

Love seeing new people and learn both dnd and this style of game, one major tip i can offer is to read every action you have, and the controller UI can be a bit confusing the mouse and keyboard style can be played more like a point and click adventure you can essentially play the game with just your mouse with the acception of using ALT key to see small objects good luck in faerun!

You can collect mostly any objects, containers etc. like those bags at the beach, besides looting what is inside. They can be used as sub-compartiments in your inventory.

This is probably a week or so too late, but one important thing you're overlooking is the Dash action. When it's more important to run than to do something else (like swing a sword at an enemy that waaay outclasses you), you can use your Action to Dash, which means you can take your full Movement all over again. It's essentially the sprinting you were looking for before since it doubles your travel distance on that turn.

Thank you! I’m aware of dash now haha. Hopefully I’ll remember to utilise it more✨
