I didn't show it, but in a St Louis Art Supply blind bag, I received a 3M paint tape scraper, and dang if I haven't been using that thing to really squeegee down my tape so it doesn't lift off mid painting!
I often use my square acrylic quilting rulers to tape watercolor paper to as I mostly use the rectangular rulers for cutting fabric. And I've used my fabric cutting tools to cut large sheets of watercolor paper to smaller sizes - just have to replace the rotary blades more often.
Unique, cheap or free. My art table has 2 glass slabs on them. So my table is one giant mixing pallette. It cleans right up, is water proof and works great. The glass is thick beveled glass from an old school used side table. The glass just lifts out. I put that white rubber drawer liner under it. Love it.
Becca, as a an artist and content creator with ADD, migraines, chronic pain and depression/anxiety this resonated so much with me. I love all the suggestions at the end because I had never seen of these migraine items and I definitely need a new brace (I have a herniated disc in my neck that is causing unbearable nerve pain in my left hand and wrist too 🥲) so I will be checking some of these out. The Herman Miller chair is on my must have list for my studio because I also stream and working on my desk for long periods of time with the chronic pain (back issues etc) I desperately need better back support. Anyway I am glad I’m not alone out here and there are other creators and RUclipsrs out here with the myriad of health issues I have with great suggestions for things to improve quality of life when creating content as well as art. 💕
Becca, this was so helpful. Despite being in a different country this video still helps in so many ways!! Thank you so so so much for this!!! Bless you!!!
Thank you! I've been looking for a way to hang my brushes to dry. I have a couple 3 level rolling carts from PriceSmart that I fill up with the paints and tools I'm using on my current project. They can roll out of the way under my table and I can also swap between projects easily. Btw I used to get pretty bad restless leg syndrome and discovered that 1 glass per day of coconut water (the clear water, not the milk or cream) prevents it. Also for me a B complex vitamin will chase it away.
BOTOX injections are used for the treatment migraines that are refractory to medications. Now, I do not have migraines but worked with many nurses who do and found relief with the Botox. Smooth skin was not such a difficult side effect... I'd start by contacting whomever you see for the migraines (neurologist?). Thank you for your sharing.
