I would add 2 comments : 1. Sweaters hitting "this bone" (the hip bone). I am one of the gamins who have proportionally long legs but very short torso. For us, when the sweater reaches the hip bone it's totally OK. 2. Oversize jackets, sweaters, coats... As long as they fit in the shoulders, you can pull it off. They are most likely to look bad if the shoulders are droopy or too wide.
Hallo Aly, i am from Germany and i love your videos about the kibbe types so much. It helps me a lot, i think i am a dramatic classic. Thank you for giving us this informations ❤
I'm from Colombia and we don't have seasons, but in Bogotá, the city where I live, it's like we are in an eternal autumn. The weather is cold and dry, it rains very often, so layering clothing is key 'cause you never know when is going to rain. I already dress as you suggested for both the weather and my FG body type. That's how I love to dress 🖤
this solidifies for me that I am an FG for sure. I just got a slightly oversized blazer and it is sooo cute with short tight dresses or items. Time to get a cropped jacket for my other set of outfits that dont work with my leather jacket or blazer. I had cardigans but they just dont work and I realize now its because they are not boxy and too rounded as well as long
I feel so understood! Even some of your sidebar suggestions are so right on. You said it’s better to not be so serious…I just wore conceptual “clock and hourglass” earrings on a date because I didn’t feel right in the outfit without a playful element. The fitted base with the stiffer outer layer. All of this is so correct! Also needing contrast…and feeling off in too feminine shapes.
Thanks so much, that's fantastic! It looks like peplum is coming back, and I needed this reminder that it's not the best shape for my body. Excellent content! :) I love that you're giving us seasonally appropriate tips with lots of modern images for inspiration.
As another FG i am so glad to officially know that peplums look bad. I’ve always hated them and now I know why - they looked bad and made me feel bad lol
Thanks for your videos and information! I’m flamboyant gamine. So nice to hear all of this content 🤍 I live in Austin TX, where autumn is not that cold. I love boxy cardigans, cropped sweaters, mixing patterns and colors!! I find we mixing patterns can work pretty well for us! It adds so playfulness and emphasizes the staccato-ness of the bone structure haha.
I'm in the Chicago west suburbs and as soon as fall hits - all humidity disappears. September is pleasant, wavering from cool to warm to cool and ballet flats are wearable. But October weather can be quite chilly and rainy which require boots or shoes with socks of some sort. It's not unusual to reach for a light to medium winter type jacket from October and beyond.
I really would like to see you do some video about Kitchener essence system and mix of that with kibbe system or seasonal colouring system it would be great ✨
Hi Aly, great suggestions as always. I'm not quite sure if Im a soft or flamboyant gamine, but I do look better in the flamboyant style you describe (even though Im not a stick straight as some flamboyants. Being a petite lady, with very few curves perhaps I lean more toward flamboyant. I live in a high dessert in the states. We are surrounded by mountains and have distinct seasons. Autumn is my most favorite and so looking forward to cooling off. We have very hot summers here too, so autumn is a very welcome time. The colors change beautifully in the mountains golds, reds, deep and dark with a new and different light. The weather starts to get cooler later in September and finally drops right down by end of November. Winter is quite cold with plenty of snow. We have many months to wear coats and scarves and sweaters. So finding different looks on the autumn/winter wardrobe is always a challenge. Thank you for always posting inspiring information.
I am from canada and now im in budapest hungary here it dosnt even snow, so I barely wear a winter coat here. In canada long puffer duck down coasts in canada, here just a windbreaker waterproof helly Hansen jacket works here.
Connecticut is the Forest Gump state in winter because you never know what you’re going to get 😂. You could get tons of snow or nothing. Classic wool coats and a longer streamlined puffer for me. ❤all your videos!!!
Hi Aly, I’m from Paris, France. Autumn here can go from warm and sunny to winter like 🤷🏻♀️ I am a pure Natural and I appreciate your work so I’ve just registered to support you through Patreon. Thanks for all 👏
Great summary and ideas, as always. ^__^ I would differ on the 2000s uneven lapel cardigan that drape easily, they work perfectly on me as a Romantic. In a causual outfit, like pale blue jeans and heatered grey fitted T-shirt, I add my see-through 2000s style cardigan and everything seems to fall into place. But yeah, it probably only works on Romantics.
@@BunnidoveI do wear them I don't believe this is law I believe this is a system and I'm trying to understand it I'm trying to understand where this contradiction coming from. I'm really interested in that and I'm sure Ally is too.
I love and appreciate immensely all of the educational content. However, I am a FG with a dramatic face, and my body type is "thin apple with a large bust" Basically anything boxy doesn't work for me (it would make me look bulky) but anything different doesn't fit my true FG soul ... the struggle is real! Am I the only one? I wish I wasn't this complicated piece of human to dress XD
Living in the Netherlands, winter is endless rain, no sun, and around 5 degrees Celsius. clothing-wise everyone wears waterproof jackets with hoodies all year almost 🌧️
Dear ALI, your videos are marvellous, I am not good for make up and with you I learnt a lot of things and I wish to thank you from the deep of my heart. Could you please make a video for the make of Brigitte Bardot of the earliest 60s ?' Many thanks in advance.
Hello Aly great video. I am in Australia and we just went into Spring on September 1st. Autumn here usually starts hot and dry in March, gets milder during April, and ends up cold and wet in May. Layers are the key for me in changing seasons - but as you say, it's important not to drown in them. I hate looking bulky. Uniqlo thermal tops & bottoms can be worn under tops, knits, jeans and trousers, without adding bulk on the outside, so that's one solution I use.
I LOVE YOUR VIDS!!!! From the US and I hate autumn here its so cold in morning then decides to be hot in afternoon. Can't wear the same outfit in morning then afternoon.
I'm from Warsaw in Poland now we have beautiful weather, it will be golden autumn, at the end of October it can be quite frosty, please video from this series Gamine😀
Hi Aly! I’m originally from Brazil, living in Florida. Very light autumn over here🙏🏽 Still don’t know my Kibbe body type even after watching all of your videos😅 Maybe one day🥰😘 Love your content🫶🏼
What are your opinions on doc martins for gamines? Im a soft gamine and i have tons of docs and I’m wondering if their chunky look is flattering on me. They’re the chunkiest shoes around the ankles that I own and I’m wondering if they’re too chunky for my more delicate body type.
As a FN watching this, I have been wearing draped collars and cardigans with draped, uneven lapels since the 2000s. 😂🙈🙈 I know it's been out of style for so long but those are such a safe choice for me. Is it that bad really? 😬😬 Edit: Also, I am from Germany and it's pretty cold in the winter. My coat is almost exactly like the one in 05:40 . I like long, sweeping lines. But I also wear a lot of wide legged jeans in autumn and winter, with a belt and a long sleeve shirt on top that has a half-tuck, or a sweater. Knit cardigans also or short knit vest. I also wear a long puffer vest at times, thought it would look weird at first but it looks cool on my type. I feel like I am so frame-dominant that I never get lost in chunky layers.
Thank you for your videos! I have just discovered them and found them to be very educational. I have a question: are these laws still applicable to women who are of a larger size?
Hi Aly, your videos helped me a lot to find my bodytype. First I thourght, I am a dramatic. But the high biuttoned, stiff blouses just didnt fit me well. Then I looked into the flamboyant natural, and when you said, thay they need their freedom, it just connected with me. I will definitly try more of this category. I have one big questuon now; do flamboyant naturals look good in grey? Do tou have examples of celenrities? Right now I have a lot of colors mixed together, grey, white, lowlights, highlights...and I kind of like this artsy style, but I am not sure about being white...can you do a video how the bodytypes go gray? Thank you so much for all tour effort and phantastic videos!
What if I’m a true summer color palette and classic gamine? It’s cool toned and muted clothing but gamines should wear bright colors? It’s a bit overwhelming 😢
Thanks Aly!!! This is so helpful to have links to specific items of clothing Aly, but when I click on the first 5 links they just take me to the Theory website not to any one specific item of clothing. I’m guessing some of the boxy jackets on the website would be suited to FG but would love to know for sure 🙏
I had a gamine friend in high school, and she was adorable-looking. She’d get tired of her signature cut (the classic bob), and would occasionally grow her hair out, but it always dragged her down and didn’t bring out her cute sparkle. ALY, I know you said you wanted to grow your hair out to harmonize more w/ your 80s musical act/persona, but I think that like my high school friend, your shorter bob gives you that special gamine “bounce” or “lift.” You’ve also mentioned that you’d be willing to cut it again, so maybe go above the shoulder, but give it an 80s twist? 🤔 You could add layers and create shagginess & stiffness to the styling…maybe some crimping on gig days? Anyway, just my two cents, but I think that this length of hair on you looks like maybe you’ve been too busy to get a haircut, so it’s been overgrown for the last 2 1/2 to 3 months. I’m an INTJ…being frank (but constructive) is how I communicate that I care. 😊 😛
@@eleftheria_fr Well, you can always grow it out again, but do what looks & feels right for you! 👍 I’m 48 now, and though I always want to look pulled together everyday, I’m DONE w/ major experimentation on my style-takes far too much time & energy that I’d rather allocate to more productive pursuits. When I was younger, I was still searching for what suited me, but aside from maybe making tweaks to the way I layer my hair, I’ve got a good idea of the silhouettes that work for my body, as well as the looks that align w/ my essence. I’m at that stage in life where I’m ready for a signature look. For the most part, it’s set. It’s the rare day that I’m not wearing a wifebeater & tennis skirt. This base outfit pairs with ALL of my shoe styles, no matter the season-this “uniform” was a lifetime in the making, and I’m so relieved to have discovered it, as it was somewhat serendipitous. 😊 Maintaining a short cut does require more maintenance, but if you think it’s worth it to restore that “bounce” to your appearance & energy, then go for it! I’m sure you’ll also be getting compliments galore! If I could choose any type to be, it’d be gamine.
She's a flamboyant gamine----mixture of short and long bones in the body and in the face---like Audrey Hepburn, Leandra Medine, Juliette Binoche, and Camille Yolaine.
