Thank you @thedrivershub. This has truly been a special build for us. We had the parts for this 340i build lying with us for over 4 months. We wanted to do this build, the right way, so we we decided not to install the downpipe until we got the ECU Unlocked. Took us 19 days to send the ECU to Finland & get it back. And the results are there for everyone to see. We're happy you guys enjoyed reviewing the 340i. There is a lot more to come on these B58 engines as we start turning up the magic.
You can dream all you want about Lamborghinis or Ferraris, but an M340i is what one can realistically get their hands on in India and STILL beat anything on the road.
Hey guys, sorry a little off topic from this video. But I’m going to buy an abarth avventura, and this one seems to be maintained really well. The only gripe being that it has almost run 1 lakh kms. Any idea on the reliability on these abarths? It has the same engine as the abarth Punto the 1.4 t jet.
Hello, as long as the engine is mechanically sound, the running of the car doesn't matter. Make sure that all mechanical components are intact and if there's something not working, make sure that you know how to fix it. Do through research on what goes bad, what doesn't, it'll be worth it! As far as the engine reliability, no real issues for the 1.4 T-Jet, main problems with Fiats is rust. So make sure all body panels and mainly the chassis is checked thoroughly.
1 lakh kms ran cars are due for clutch, suspension and steering rack replacements. Check whether these are done. If not, discount the buying price accordingly.
You guys lay your hands on such good and potent cars, yet your videos lack the kinda hands on feel of performance that an enthusiast would want to have watching your videos. Work it out guys, you have the ability to be the best there is in your genre of content.

Lol don't you know? Warranty, insurance and everything gets void when you remap a car. If you want to claim insurance your car needs to be in pure stock condition.
Whatever you saying is ok. But in my personal opinion 382Bhp 500Nm in a sedan is very powerful already and spending 5.5lakh is no brainer unless you want to take it to race tracks. Stock m340i is more than enough for our indian roads.

Because you mention the transmission so much, it should probably be in your interest to attach all of that credit to ZF. The ZF eight speed is really the best TC gearbox on the market. How does the M-Xdrive perform on it? It’s not proper M but should have MDM right? Can the tune manage to tweak AWD? I’d imagine this’d be an amazing track weapon if they can make it work. How is the stock cooling? Does it take the tune well? Have there been issues with heat soak? Was wondering if they can switch back and forth between ECU maps to not void the warranties on these things. (will be interesting if no other mods are done on it, trick bmw hehe). How does this car do on the overrun? I heard the pops and bangs, they were impressive but ive heard better from a90 supras. Are there any plans for charge pipes or is it really not worth it considering some of the other upgrades they have in the pipeline? Noticed BM3 in the list of upgrades? Dont understand why? Didn’t you have someone do the unlocking and flashing in Finland? What is the use of BM3 here? Also in case of BM3 my third question is rendered meaningless haha appreciate the video!
Arty, the ZF8 gearboxes are really good. So good that an iteration of them was even used in the Audi RS6/RS7/RSQ8 & Lamborghini URUS. Unfortunately, there is no way to tweak the X-Drive at this moment. Stock cooling isn't great. Engine does heat soak bad! That's why we are already running a CSF Heat Exchanger. We will soon be installing a CSF Billet Manifold as well to improve IATs. Ideally we would have loved to run a WMI kit, but that won't be a daily mod. We can run multiple maps, but there is no way to fool the dealership anymore. They can find out if a car has been tuned with the press of a button on their laptop now. The Supras do sound better. The 340i is a 5 seater sedan at the end of the day. And it's just running an aftermarket downpipe, stock catback, mild PnBs tune as this is still a daily driver & the owner doesn't want to draw unwanted attention. We could add a good catback to make it sound good, but at this point, we don't think there is a need for it. Charge pipes make no power difference on these engines, unless you plan to run WMI or CPI it makes no sense to waste money on those. ECU Unlock only works with BM3/MHD/MGFlasher for the time being. Other tools don't want to work with Femto due to conflict of interest. Sad, because we have Ecutek/CMD/Bflash to tune but the newer BMW ECUs don't work with them. One added advantage of having BM3 is the owner can change tunes on his own. 95 or 100 RON etc. The unlock process in Finland only allows you to use 1 of the few supported tools to flash to the ECU i.e BM3/MHD/MGFlasher or Femto's own tool. We have to tell them in advance which tool we'd be tuning with and the patch is flashed to the ECU based on the tool we choose. Hope that answers all your doubts! Cheers.

On behalf of the whole TDH team, we would definitely choose the F80/F82. Engine is one thing, ofcourse it matters a lot, but the looks of the old F-Series M cars is just 🤌
In a straight line definitely yes, but in a track that’s a bit of a doubt because of the rs5’s Quattro and system but it can beat a s5 without a doubt in a track as well as in a straight line

It's all fun and games when other parts like turbo and clutch starts wearing out faster because it was designed to handle stock power figures. Pops and bangs means say bye bye to piston rings and valves which usually tend to wear out faster in BMWs. So don't be fooled by that 5 lakhs upgrades because you will be spending significantly more on maintenance. Finally you will be selling the car on OLX for like 10 lakhs.
B58 is easily Puting out 500 hp and even 1000 hp on stock bottom end and crank it can easily handle that power . This is not a 320 d inline 4 engine this is the beast the b58.
Google'd knowledge can only get you so far @single4life. These B58 engines were designed with so much headroom, that Toyota (yes, those guys who built the famed 2JZ engine) decided to buy the engine & tranny combo from BMW for their new Supra which are probably the most tuner friendly cars after the Golfs in the world. There are 1000s of owners pushing 700-750HP on stock blocks on these cars in Europe/USA with zero issues. Also, we don't turn off factory safety features on our tunes. So Pops N Bangs aren't aggressive like most other Indian tuners. And if the EGTs get too high, the PnBs will automatically stop until all safety conditions are met. We can guarantee that these engines will run 1L+ kms without any issues as long as you service them every 7500kms & do preventive maintenance even with our Stage 3 builds.
@@HarmonixxTuning BMW's engineers would have spent years altogether trying, testing and deciding on the engine parts, exact power figures and a well optimised tune for reliability along with minimal emissions. Only reason that they have left such headroom in B58 is to achieve high reliability which BMWs were lacking. So please don't try to fool people by hiding the fact that reliability of the engine will definitely be reduced and maintenance costs will increase indefinitely with any stage 2 or 3 custom tunes. Lol 1L kms on stage 3 with general maintenance? Stop embarrassing yourself.

Just to state some facts, we speak out of experience of having tuned some of India's fastest cars & maintaining them regularly for our clients. And this 340i owner has 6 other cars in his garage tuned by us & couple of them have crossed the 1L mark already (over 90k kms since we tuned them). Since we have an in-house Dyno we have tested these cars at 90k, 95k, 1L and the cars made the exact same power on the Dyno as a car that has run 20-30k kms with the same mods. Same with the compression tests, leak-down tests etc. That's why the owner of a 85L car is okay with us removing his 340i's ECU and shipping it to Finland for 19 days to get it unlocked. Trust & Rome weren't built in a day. That's how we plan all our builds. An engine has to run 1L kms with regular maintenance. Real people who've gotten their cars tuned by us will attest to that fact. And we've posted a lot of long term reliability posts on our Insta/Facebook pages as well. Either ways, we respect your whole idea of wanting to keep the cars stock, but what we don't agree with is the misrepresentation of facts. Over & out! And this will be our last reply on this matter. Don't feed the trolls is a motto we take very seriously! :)
dude all good and nice but while filming car on the highway on right most lane, you have disturbed many many vehicles which is not a good thing. In the video itself you can see some SUV and even a truck at one point had to brake because you slowing down and speeding up. Kind request not to do this on busy highway.
Lol. Nothing sketchy about the unlock. Since 2020, there is only ONE company IN THE WORLD that can Unlock the newer BMW ECUs. Tuners from all across the globe are shipping their ECUs to Finland for the unlock. Usual charges for Non EU tuners is around $1500-2000 for the unlock depending on your local customs duty tariffs & shipping costs.
