Living in this area, your historical background is much appreciated. I love all the old photos you found. Your videos are always well researched and interesting to watch. Great job!
I was very lucky in 1972 to work at the Canyon Hotel with a close friend as we operated the parking lot for guests and celebrities. Really sad that later on the Hotel was torn down. That was another part of history that disappeared
Excellent in many ways. There are a few points worth mentioning: The Wexler home captioned Leonardo DiCaprio, while accurate, misses the fact that it was originally Dinah Shore's home. The use of Coachella as a name for the valley happened as a result of a misspelling of the name Conchilla which referred to the shells found on the formerly submerged desert floor. The epicenter of LGBTQ life in the valley was, until recently, Cathedral City, Palm Springs' neighbor to the East, and a higher per capita LGBTQ population is one city further east, Rancho Mirage.
Thank you for the great info! I didn’t realize that was Dinah Shores home also wow! Palms Springs is a dynamic place and I look forward to visiting again!

Thank you, I appreciate the kind words - it means a lot to me 🙂
I’m living in the Palm Springs area and yes, it’s beautiful, particularly the casinos. Groovy and neato.
Palm Springs is an amazing place!

Thanks for sharing! I would have liked to dive into more about the hotels. The history of the hotels resorts and clubs is really interesting.

You left out Casa Cody which has an interesting history.
Thank for the suggestion!
You can do the socal challenge go take tram to snow then Joshua tree desert then drive to beach all in one day
That sounds like a great adventure. Watch the sunrise (if possible) from the mountain then hike in Joshua Tree and watch the Sunset at the Beach.
Excellent in many ways.

As a gay man in Cathedral City, I had no idea about that Rancho Mirage trivia! Good to know.
