Comparing Sony CDP-303ES to the CDP-302ES reviewed yesterday. Both with BU-1 mech but not the same.

CDP-303ES has newer BU-1C laser but inferior loader compared to CDp-302ES.
Less tracking adjustments available (only Focus and Tracking Error instead of a set of full 5 pots.) and tracking not as good as in CDP-302ES.
It must be due to implementation, because Philips based machines have no adjustment available to the serviceman at all, and still can track very well.
More quality Nichicon capacitors, including plenty of green Muse ones but I think I still like the older one better.
Belts needed to be replaced and were in much worse shape than on 302 but limit switches of which there is one less were clean, so the quality of them must have bee better.
Sadly the headphones problem was not the socket but a power op-amp, NJM-4560S.
Still a top class machine. Once I fit a digital outputs, it will be a fine transport.

The tracking is slower because the focus and tracking adjustments are a little bit off. It's supposed to track as fast as the 302ES, check this other video ruclips.net/video/0JrL4U3oMoY/видео.html
