I love this jingle! 1:27 That cool cat with the hi-top fade in the bumpers is Fido Dido created by Sue Rose (Pepper Anne, Codename Kids next Door.) He disappeared in the States, but is an icon in South America. He's one of the reasons I became an animator. 2:03:30 LOL the Gadget episode is from Canada. Miss Canada is safe in Ottawa. Such a goofy country. I miss you Ontario!

Inspector Gadget was the same show from the early 1980’s. Watched a couple reruns on CBS Saturday Mornings in November 1991 at 7:30am and aired right before GamePro and before Muppet Babies, Mother Goose and Grimm, back to back Garfield & Friends, & Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Back to the Future and Where's Waldo?. It came on when CBS was not showing Riders in the Sky. Episodes from the CBS Saturday Morning version were reruns of the original syndicated show. I was ay my grandparent's house in Walterboro, South Carolina at the time period, and therefore during 1991-1992. The Charleston, South Carolina CBS network station was WCSC, channel 5 (cable channel 9). Though I didn’t see it every week. But at the same time, it was still being aired on Nickelodeon, alongside Danger Mouse.
The Inspector Gadget reruns on CBS were the same versions that aired in 1st-run syndication, not the ones that aired on Nickelodeon, which was being aired during the same time at that point.
Heh. Mother Goose gets cancel-cultured long before it was a thing-- apparently she's got a reputation in the witch community as a magical race-ist. The incomparable June Foray plays two of the wicked witches, using both her Witch Hazel and Natasha Fatale voices. Also love the subtle nod to her role as Rocky the flying squirrel at 44:27.
Oh wow. I happily know everything shown here. CBS was my favorite station to watch cartoons on. Sure, there were good cartoons on other channels, but they consisstenly had the best. Mother Goose and Grimm which switched to the simpler, less-foklsy title of Grimmy for its 2nd season, the Where's Waldo? books; the cartoon was one of my favorites. (Too bad it didn't last long enough. I was a bigger fan of the book in the early to late 90's, 2000's, 2010's and even today) I also watched a lot of Back to the Future, which was surprisingly fun for a big screen adaptation. The one thing I'm blanking on is Inspector Gadget. I've always thought that was strictly on syndicated and cable - do know it being on Saturdays. I do know Inspector Gadget being a syndicated rerun show. I have recollection of it being a Saturday Morning cartoon on CBS during its reruns! As someone who watched Saturday Morning TV in 1991-92, this was a godsend. I have a fuzzy memory, but I know that CBS lineup. Turtles, Muppet Babies, Garfield, Back To The Future, Inspector Gadget before it found its way to Nickelodeon, the forgotten Grimmy and Where's Waldo? cartoon, Riders In The Sky, and Fido Dido in the bumper. Also and finally, I know Inspector Gadget ever being a Saturday morning cartoon when CBS aired it. I think I only ever watched it both in reruns on CBS & Nickelodeon at the same time. Where I lived, the local CBS affiliate (WCSC) would sometimes show Inspector Gadget, preempted for Soul Train instead during its itme slot.
Fun fact, a girl I was with for 7 years, created Fido Dido, Sprite or 7 up sent her a Shirt and some swag, she won the contest where you create the character for the company. Neat eh, and I lived across the street from the guy who wrote the song to the Raccoons cartoon, I'm Quebec, and at Halloween he would make giant paper mache spiders and insects all over his lawn.

I was alive in 1985, and I certainly don't recall Fido Dido being on commercials or TV in 1985. I was always liked Gadget by this time. In South Carolina, my CBS affiliate which was and is WCSC, Channel 5, Cable 9, sometimes show it on Saturday afternoons at 12:00pm, whenever when they weren't showing Soul Train and was notorious for pre-empting most of the Saturday morning schedule.
If Inspector Gadget reruns moved to CBS followed the unveiling of its CBS Kid TV Saturday Morning block, then how come local syndicated stations-both independent and network-affiliated- and Nickelodeon still played it at the same time?
