Even for people they hire, it is VERY CLEAR they dont read the entire resume, for quite a few of my bosses. If thwy had, they wouldn't be asking me "if ive wkrked on makeline before"
Hi Victor, what advice would you have for some trying to break into mechanical engineering again? I had to drop out of college during the pandemic and managed to snag myself a coding job and have managed to climb up to the role of associate product manager. I started school again last year and now in my third year, I'm trying to look for something to get back on track. I don't particularly like tech and would love to get into propulsion. What do you think I should do?
Hi Victor, I think this is all fantastic advice. I am curious why you still have your education at the top despite having over a decade of experience. Also, I get the impression that you're targeting OEMs which work closely and/or regularly with Chinese affiliates, is this a fair assumption on my part? Typically for listing jobs or education, I tend to lead with the name of the role/degree earned, placing those on top, rather than the name of the organization, this way the reader can quickly gauge what I did rather than where I've been. For example, if I'm looking at your resume for no more than a few seconds, I might come away with the impression "oh, he was educated overseas" and overlook the more relevant fact that you earned a graduate degree. Just my two cents, and you know what they say about resume opinions and assholes...
This is all great advice. I do have multiple resumes, and the one I'm showing is an older version mainly for students. To your point about including the role first, I do think in most cases that works well. However, there are instances where listing the company first can be more beneficial. For instance, your company is well-known in your industry or every job title in your resume is the same. Clearly both are important, and it depends which one you wish to highlight more.
What note taking app do you use on your Ipad? I currently have OneNote but was looking for more options. I have an Ipads and windows computer so the sync with OneNote is pretty helpful.

Great advice. It’s true you have to include important tasks and project which showcase your engineering skills.
Your last videos are gold, this is all I need, no doubts one of the best ME Channels out there
Thank you victor ❤❤❤❤

No matter what you do with your cv right now doesn't help much. The job market is extremely bad. It's frustrating.
