The first time I ever had Pop Rocks I was in England and had no idea they existed. I sat there with my mouth shut thinking to myself all wide eyed: "HOLY SHIT. MY TONGUE IS EXPLODING."

I think how they pop rocks makers handled the public's anxiety, from what is said in this video, was done really well.
My most memorable memory of pop rocks is when I took 5 large bags of pop rocks and put all the pop rocks in my mouth.I swear i could feel tiny explosions in my stomach when i swallowed them.

Pop rocks definitely can't kill you,I've eating them since the 80s till now,I'm in good health :)) I did try to sneak eat these in class once teacher was sure someone was chewing and posing gum ,when he asked me to open my mouth ,pop rock popped all over his face and in one eye ,I got in trouble for eating candy in class and I lived to tell the story .I one bought 4 pack for one quarter a flea market as a teen and turned around sold it to girl at school for 10.00 for one pack ,serious profit:) She was rich kid not allowed to eat candy ,because her mouth said it would rot her teeth.But 10 dollars for one pack was to much of a good deal to pass up ,lol:)

Your stomach will explode. Reasons is cause soda (especially diet soda), doesn't mix well since it will blow of foam. With pop rocks, i have no idea what will happen.

That explains why when I was a kid, I was experimenting with pop rocks it exploded and caused a stain on the roof when I put it in hot water.

1980 I heard about a guy eating a whole package of pop rocks att once and he died on the spot when they exploded in his throat!
I had a traumatic experience when I was a youngster. I had a pack of pop rocks that had the 'mother of all' pop-rocks. I put them in my mouth and proceeded to have a joyous pop-a-thon. I decided to chew the pop rocks and chomped down on the 'mother of all' pop rocks. the 'mother' exploded in my mouth with such force that my mouth was forced open. I have not been able to eat pop rocks since. Pop Rocks be evil.
You didn't say CO2 were one of the ingredients.

couldn't I bundle in a pound or two of pop rocks into a copper ball and put 6 diodes in it that would heat the surfaces like the faces of a cube so that they'd all start melting at a uniform rate? that way you've got a small explosion with warm/hot glucose attacking you.
