Hi Chris, I was wondering how a hollowbody or semi-hollow body with just the neck pickup would sound for your Jazz guitar playing. I've heard that having just one pickup installed has a different sound from a two pickup guitar that is just using the neck pickup. I was told this when I asked a question on another channel where the person got a Les Paul Jr. and asked him why not just use a Les Paul and play with just the neck pickup. I can't remember what the science behind a single pickup vs. 2 pickups and using just one of them were but there is something affecting it.

Hi Chris, I think the guitar sounds way much better now. I liked the most when you played with a red plectrum and only with your fingers. I really liked the sound, especially when fingering. Really beautiful sound!! I love it!! I also liked the chickenpicking sound of the bridge microphone.
P.S. The small flickers in the video didn't bother me at all.

Hi JP Thanks for your reassurance! I was starting to think maybe I should have stuck with the original pickup but every time I play it now, It sounds good to me with minimal tweaking and for the most part just changing picks to attain a sound I would need for different pieces. Yes, the red Dunlop Rock III pick is a favorite and also the Blue Chip 50. About the flickering, it used to be all over the video like my face etc. Now with many attempts to fix it, I was able to limit it just to flicker below the screen, which is a lot tolerable! In time I am sure I will figure out how to get rid of it entirely. I never had this issue with Windows 10. Windows 11 can be a challenge in so many aspects! Cheers my friend!

Hi Kapatid, this is my next wishlist guitar. Between this & Sire 335😀. I like 335 model now, I found out the body really fit well with me, its feel better than a jazz box but this Ibanez GB is tempting 😂 the body much smaller than a big jazz box. Great video Kapatid great content. Cheers!!

Yes Kapatid! I love my thick Jazz Boxes but this GB fits like a glove and it is extremely light! You will think you are holding a toy but I love it! Also I am now starting to realize I love a bit more treble than I use to have on the amp when playing archtops. It is weird how our ear preferences changes as the years go by. Another small guitar I had in mind was the Ibanez AM 2000 and the Epiphone ES 339 which both body width I believe is 14"" for Ibanez and 15" for Epi. The reason I got the GB was because it is a full hollowbody and it had that trebly sound although I found it a bit too trebly. Now I miss the original pickup and may at some point remove the Kent Armstrong and out back the original. LOL! Hey it always trial and error. So do I miss the piercing sound of the original pickup? Maybe I do but this isn't bad at all! Oh if you get this guitar, it come stock with 11 flatwounds but the action and tension because of the scale length and size of the guitar is really great feeling for your hands! I am running 13 flats and it feels like 10s because of how relaxed the tension is! You can get good used deals in Reverb like I did when I purchased this one used. Mabuhay Kapatid! @og

@@jazzguitarneophyte-christo7988Do you find out a big different with the Japanese GB10? I used to have GB10 long long time ago.

To be honest, if I had the money I would have settled for a Japanese GB 10; however, there are mixed reviews on the internet when compared to the much less expensive 10EM. I found a channel that compares the GB 10 to the GB 10EM but I wasn't convinced since he did not have the same strings set up on those guitars. One thing is apparent though and that is the GB 10EM sounded louder. Now, not sure how the new GB 10 Japan sound like these days and the guy who reviewed it had an older version. Personally, I like the sound of the GB10 Japan more than the GB EM but I have come to love the sound of this EM. I am looking for a store that has the GB 10 here in Maryland so I can test drive it. One thing I know is that you can never go wrong with a GB 10 Japan Kapatid! Here is the link Kapatid ruclips.net/video/Xk17LBk3wxU/видео.html @@jazzydog

Many years ago when he was working from the UK, Kent built me a floating pickup for an old Hofner Senator hollowbody I had testorred. It sounded glorious! Good luck with you continuing tone journey.

@@jazzguitarneophyte-christo7988 Thanks it was a 1957 model that I restored. I sold it to a wonderful jazz guitarist so it went to a good home. I also own an Ibanez GB anniversary model and I agree about the bright sound. Kent Armstrong and Bartolini floating pickups are nice alternatives.
