- Based on a true story, this powerful drama demonstrates how obedience to Biblical principles can overcome the problems of permissiveness and lack of leadership in today’s family. A house in the suburbs, two handsome boys and a dog - All is calm at the Donavan household. Or is it? Kathy Donavan is frustrated by Jim's "boys will be boys" attitude toward discipline. Jim can't understand Kathy's new-found religion. Young Jeff is out of control. When grandpa Ollie comes to live with them, a three generation conflict brews. With a tiger loose in the city and a python in the school. Home Safe is alive with action, suspense, humor and tragedy.

I am 47 and seen this movie at a Church Summer camp in the mid 80s.I never forget this movie it was always in the back of my mind - I never forget anything! I Google info on what the title is and here I am!
What a great movie and values I try to enforce and believe in, but I wasn't expecting that ending; it shocked My special-needs adult son and myself! I wished I had read ahead to see what happened at the end to prepare myself and him!
Fascinating story. I cried when their son died. At the end of the videos. He received Jesus Christ as a personal savior. He learned to forgive his father and that's very good. Thank you for this encouragement.

I don't understand what happened...the lil boy died suddenly...he wasn't sick or anything...so sad.
He was going to run out of the back door, but didn’t realise that it was closed (it was glass) so he fell through it and got cut so badly he died.

How did they film the scene with the tiger and the dog....??? I didn't think they had CG back then.
Trained animals, and also you can briefly see in the barn scene that the tiger is tied up with a wire or chain.

Sadly the title of this movie is a large part of the problem in the world today. The government supports single mother households by giving checks to a mother if there is no man in the home. Also we are plagued by parents allowing their children to basically rule the home. And even some parents teaching children that sin is a good thing (lgbtq people).
Outside of old Japanese monster movies, this ranks high at the top of the list for stupid. Not only does the story line have more holes than a dart board, the Biblical truth is not accurate. Really Really bad!!

There is a serious misconception in this movie, stated by the older brother Chris! Become a Christian and you go to heaven, even if you are disobedient to God's instructions! There is no where in the teachings of Jesus that says that, only later writings in the New Testament, that may be misconstrued by poor judgment to falsely assume that position. Jesus is clear in his ministry, whomever loves me keeps my Commandments! Heaven is an opportunity to be with God, not a guarantee, unless we believe in Jesus, and love him by keeping his Commandments! Heaven is perfect, and we must strive for perfection to be with him. If we obey the teachings of Jesus we will be made perfect when we die, and we will be with him forever.
Another misconception is that we will join our families in heaven, if we are Christian. If we read the words of Jesus carefully he tells us that in heaven there are no marriages, as all are like the Angel's. This instructs us while on earth to love those with God as our families, as we will be one family in heaven, without being partial to our family who we lived with in the world, because chances are they may not all be there! Amen!
We are saved through faith alone , not works. Nobody strives for perfection to be WITH HIM...that's works! The dispensation of keeping the commandments was Jewish...The Church (of both Jew & Gentile through faith alone in Christ alone) didn't exist until Acts 10. You must understand that some in the church dispensation were taken out because of their disobedience & were weak also. But NEVER does anyone's works alone save them...that's not The true Gospel. Not everyone who is truly saved, after some time, necessarily lives right (read 2Peter 1:5-11) Hope this helps

The fact is, the enemy has ALWAYS mixed TRUTH with error. Genesis 2:1-9; 2:15-17; 2:18, 21-25.
Genesis 3:1-14. The enemy inserted the word NOT and that changed what our "Sovereign God" said.
Christians with the best intentions are deceived with lies they have been exposed to by the devil.

@@alessandrazanette09 faith alone, in Christ alone, through grace alone is what saves us. The scriptures clearly tell us that we are " saved by grace, not by works, lest any man should boast." No man can be perfect enough to get to heaven on his own. That would make the death, burial, and Resurrection of Jesus Christ to no avail. That is why God sent His Son to die on the Cross for our sins, to be what we could not be, a perfect sacrifice. We obey God's commandments out of love and thankfulness to Him. If we confess our sins believe on Him, then He sees us as perfect. This is how we can have assurance of salvation, even when we mess up. He is a wonderful Savior!
David says this when his son dies, that he cannot come back, but that he will go to him, meaning he will see him in heaven. No one said anything about preferential treatment.
