Hungarian Dance No. 5 (with Score)
Orchestral arrangements: Martin Schmeling (1864-1943)
Conductor: Robin Stapleton
Orchestra: Royal Philharmonic Orchestra
Happy birthday Brahms 🎂✨ The goat of romantic orchestration
I think of the middle section often, and I wish it was longer. One of my favorites
It's catchy and helps me know what to do when I get to the expert level
I’m currently playing this for my Middle School band and I’m alto saxophone…those sixteenth note runs scare tf out of me. AND WE ARENT EVEN UP TO TEMPO.😭
0:37 here, I'd like to note that Brahms wrote "poco ritardando", but almost all the recordings I've listened to exaggerate the ritardando, and after that, repeat with a faster tempo. I've always found this unsatisfactory. It's a "dance", there's no need to dramatize the tempo, otherwise imagine how people are going to dance with it.
Yes, that tempo slow-down is supposed to be very slightly noticeable, not dramatic.
The Legend of the Golden Pyramid brought me here!
My favourite Hungarian dance
Quincy: *hiccups*
