I had a dream a few nights ago where during a Dorje concert the Captain came on stage holding a banjo and started playing "Knockin' on Heaven's Door". Everyone in the crowd went absolutely nuts.
I really appreciate a “how can I make this thing work for me” video, instead of a “this isn’t the absolutely perfect thing I have in my mind that no one has made yet” kind of video
Working Man Games Drums are okay, pretty good basic sounds. I wish Chappers would not show off so much. But good pedal effects especially for the price.
To be fair I play live with a Marshall Jvm205h, and 4x12 Marshall cab with Morley wah and boss tuner, noise suppressor, boss delay and a boss chorus. All great gear but pedals like the mooer are absolutely fantastic for getting those "Wembley" stage type tones at home and at low volume so you can practice with all the glory of valve type sounds at bedroom volume. I use these type of things to practice with at home all the time. They are brilliant for a seasoned musicians practice tool and to newbies alike looking to practice their Wembley type tones before they splash the cash on the real deal equipment. I think I'm going to buy one!!
I dream about the day when technology get so advanced. That you could put a kemper floor, inside a box like this. In this price range 😂. We get there folk's
Well... I guess many people are going to welcome you guys demonstrating affordable gear - I am sure a lot of beginners will enjoy watching this video. Well done!
Im sure this pedal sound MUCH better via headphones giving a great Hi-fi sound as my Digitech RP70 is. These things are meant for practice and for finding out what pedals one likes to work with and even which amp sims one prefers. Great tools to prepare you for the real stuff later on
+Cirill Unbelieve I have the RP360. Well made, great tone... Would be nice for the boys to do a review on it. www.andertons.co.uk/Products/Products.asp?keyword=rp360&type=search&attributeXML0=||||#1447770276909page-1
+deadstarlights The Rp1000 is a cool rig but older tech/pre merger with Harmon (Harmon Kardon, JBL, Crown, Infinity) company. Now after the merger the quality level has gone way up and the cost of the RP360 is reasonable for a beginner. And that is what these multi effects are really geared to, a beginner to find their tone and learn with. Makes great xmas gifts for a youngster! If someone has more money to burn, just get a real pedal board loaded with pedals to taste, or get a Line 6 Helix if you wish to geek out on the computer, or a more affordable Fender Mustang Floor. I personally can not justify spending that much on a product made in China.
I'm a slightly more experienced guitar player and I bloody love these little multi-FX pedals. Sure, their amp sims are generally rubbish, but they're good for fringe effects like phaser, chorus, flanger, tremolo, etc. that I would use in maybe one or two songs per set. Saves a load of money on pedals I'd barely use plus precious pedalboard real estate.
This is a good thing... not many can afford those superbly expensive pedals and amps.... good motivation for beginners to keep on playing. The bad thing is it doesn't have USB port for direct recording.
Wow....immediately i watched the video i ordered for the Mooer and it have been delivered to me in NIGERIA, its a great testimony, this effect pedal have really pushed me in front Line....am so proud to have the Mooer Ge100....its cheaper and Qualitative....i Rocks!...i now enjoy playing my guitar for so many musicians.
ah just when I thought I didn't reallywant anything else for playing guitar, then this comes along and takes everything I want and puts it in a very convenient cheap device. We do a jam session during lunch hour at work a couple times a month, and this device would totally help out for doing loops and added in drum beats.
If anyone out there is yet to buy their first guitar pedal i would say that this (or any similar product) would be a great start. better than buying one pedal that does one thing this will give anyone the chance to really experiment and get to know their instrument better by testing out what it can do... wish i had one when i started

The build in drum machine is really good for practice, you know instead of a metronome.Sounds pretty decent too. This, with a Yamaha Pacifica and a good practice amp are the perfect set-up for a beginner. P.S.The Capt. gets a really good ZZ Top-ish tone out of this thing.

Great video as usual from The Captain and Chappers. 2015??? I knew this had been around for a few years but 2015??? Wow! Here toward the end of 2024 I just got one on Ali Express for $50 US, NIB (I guess that would be NOS). Saw on Temu for about the same price. I'm trying to retire so new toys have to be on the cheap. I'm thrilled with it, but now I have 25-30 odd pedals scattered about, collected over the last +-35 yrs., that have just been all but replaced by a $50 MOOOOOOOOER..... What the hell is my Rock & Roll world coming to??? Oh well, like the cockroach I am, I will survive... Rock on y'all. 😎🤘✌👍 (New challenge: Chappers Signature blackout goggles on and "What pedal is this?"😁Can the Meister run the table again???)
That last tone sounded alright for a cheap multiFX. I got a Zoom G5 when I was in highschool and it had some great sounds in it. Distortions and such weren't particularly pleasant, but it had some alright choruses, delays and stuff. Really helped me figure out what kind of effect pedals suited my playing.
+Lazarus Solomon it was the nasty plastic box of tones that would make bieng fisted by the whole new Zealand rugby team seem like a more pleasant listening expierience . but it was awesome when I was 14
+Jonas Townsend hey dude I know the zoom wasn't that bad but it's a memory from my childhood and my college years wich have made it a bit of a stain and a running joke . the build quality on the mooooooer looks a lot better and as a kid compared to the zooms of 15 years ago this thing rocks, but yes the newer ones aren't that bad.
+Jonas Townsend POD2 user here. I feel that its better than a Zoom based on hearing, though the Zoom has more features (unless you go up to a FloorPOD or POD HD). Me and a buddy of mine did do a cover with me recording on my POD, him on his Zoom. There is a noticeable difference between the two, but I do feel that they work well together for what we needed at the time. Though the lack of features on the "minimum" POD is a bit of a turn off. I have (had) some covers on my channel, but they just stagnated due to my POD footswitch dying on me. Not having that footswitch is quite a minus for functionality. I don't really have a preferene to one brand or the other, I just use equipment that is good for what I need it to do.
+William Stanway I had a Zoom 9050 back around 1995. I thought I'd run into the deal of the century getting in used for $300. It actually was a very nice MFX for the time. My AxeFX II would slay it today without breaking a sweat, though.
Great: ... a beginners setup with a Pacifica and a Crush accompanied by a great Multi-FX with learning tools ... great Xmas hints! This Mooer GE-100 seem to be the most capable in its range of FX ... great sounds, good drums and a 3 min looper! Super demo guys ... thanks!
Thanks a lot Lee and Chappers, I just bought one. I'm in the states, so I bought it here. You guys are great. Lee, loved the Bluesy stuff man. Take care guys. John
From my experience, it is decent for beginners. But the sound quality isn't nearly as good as my cheapest pedalboard ($300 with 6 mini effect pedals a power supply and mini board). The GE100 lacks clarity and is a bit muddy. But then again this is under $100.
I'm withh you Rob, I simply LOVE cool little, cheap, fun, noise makers.....I think it'd be fun to do a KILLER TRACK using just that thing...but have pictures of boutique stuff sitting there, and watch people make comments on how great XXXX sounded and how the reverb trails of XXX made the track.....hehe That'd be evil. :-)
Great video & production quality. 7 years later, you're still helping people like me make a decision. It's RM240 here in Malaysia which translates to 42 pounds or 52 USD. Think it's a no-brainer for a new electric guitar player like me. Thanks very much.
I've got a couple zoom multi effects pedals as my go to pedals (one cost $70 and the other cost $170) These little cheap things can produce great sounds if you tweak enough and the built in tuners and loopers are great tools. A couple of these minimizes my setup and makes everything simple. Just need a guitar and amp with a multi effects in the middle and the world is your playground
Some great features on that, I especially like that it has an expression pedal. I can see it being good for portable practice when you'd need to use headphones. As part of a beginners amp setup, though. I 'd recommend something like a blackstar TVP ID:15 over this unit *and* an orange crush. P.S. I really dig Mooer's mini-pedals. also...judging from the shine, that dog's behind has been through a lot.
I picked one up hardly used for £30 played guitar for years got lots of pedals etc, got this mainly for Looper, I’m not bothered about amp or cab sims built in but handy just for another unit with plenty of built in FX, some decent sounding OD’s, Distortions, modulation FX you can’t fault it, some nice enough delays and reverbs, all added extras for me to use with all other gear I have, for £30 you can’t buy a decent individual pedal so I got a steal for the amount of features in this, nice and small and light to fit in pocket of guitar case and if it gets stolen then not lost much, ideal for practice or rehearsal and can’t be bothered taking loads of gear every time, nice for general ease and playing occasional pub gig and having few nice effects when just me playing. Can’t grumble at all, sounds good with bit of editing, and worth more than £30 I paid. Beginner guitarist really have got it made with so many features that so good at such low prices nowadays.
Hi guys, that was a brilliant review and fun to 👍👍I'm gonna get one for my 10 year old nephew for his Christmas present.. It's a perfect starter kit for him.. Thanks lads 👍✌️👌
What Cap & Chap did not touch on is you can record a loop, play over it and record, and then add as many additional licks as you like. The bummer is you lose it when you power down the Mooer. And the screen is huge. Best I have seen on any multi fx.
@@timnoble4137 Hi Tim. I don't lose my settings on user patches I've made after I power down. The down side is the pedal is not useable as a wah pedal. Luckily I have one and plug my guitar into my wah and then into the Mooer. Still experimenting with it, only have mine about 5-6 days. Getting some sick (good) distortion and overdrive sounds 🎸😁
Bought the Mooer years ago…now i have a band practice on Thursday, need to get my dusty shit together….. great video……the dude on the guitar is a fuckin genius of fretage….absolutely excellent
I've just purchased one of these so here's my thoughts: Pro: Quality of the effects is better than I expected with very usable Delay,Reverb,Chorus etc Plenty of user spaces to store patches Easy to create new patches Rhythm options not too shabby - good for play along at least. Really good value for what it does (try buying a separate Delay/Chorus for the same price) If you want say clean plus a distortion option you can set the mode to the distort section and switch on and off in a "live" situation - otherwise you would need two adjacent patches to toggle between. [Edit - there is a sound gap during on/off switching so maybe separate patches are better?] Con: Expression pedal next to useless as it changes mode at full extent AND there's a glitch in the signal as it does so! [Edit: You can stop this by pressing hard down at the EXP part of pedal set up - solves the problem] When saving patches they are numbered per the built in patch selected when editing i.e P01 becomes U01. You probably won't use built in patches if you don't want heavy distortion. Haven't seen any way of bypassing the unit other than creating a patch with no effects whatsoever. Recommendation: Good quality for the money - happy with the purchase. Usable live if you edit the patches accordingly otherwise a great rehearsal tool.
I have the same pedal before. I think the P stands for Presets, as in standard factory presets, and U stands for "User", like User presets. There's two sections of effects, Default presets and user presets that can be customised, which is convenient. And also, the Expression Pedal isn't useless, it's actually pretty okay. You just need to calibrate how hard you have to step down on the expression pedal for it to activate. I just figured it out within 5 minutes of playing around with the pedal, i'm sure those should be on the manual as well as I skipped some pages.
I recently bought a Mooer Shimverb and a Blues Crab and I must say that this company makes some great pedals for a great price. Of course you can get that holy premium tone for that premium price, but when you start out with guitar (like I do) and just start expanding your tone with your first pedals... Mooer is a great brand to start out. You can try out many different great sounding pedals without breaking the bank. Down the line you can always start to invest in a more premium solution. Especially when your identity crisis is over about what tone and type of music you wish to play. I am still in that transitional period. :p
When Rob plays I hear Joe Satriani. When Lee plays I hear BB King. Cool enough pedal for getting the most bang for..$$. It really packs in a lotof stuff in such an affordable package.
Great if you bought your first guitar setup last Christmas and you're looking for something to add this Christmas? I've been playing the same £150 Westfield knockoff of a Strat and a 10 watt Vox Pathfinder practice amp for the last 8 years (since I was 7). I think I'm well past that stage, and I still don't have a single pedal or multi effects box.
Sometimes running a guitar straight into the amp can sound great. Look at Tommy Thayer and Paul Allender. It's always good to explore new tones though :)
awesome thinking in buying it..questions,,if lets say you make a mistake on a overdub..can you just cancel that overdube while your 1st look plays? and can i chance the location of presets..if i want my favorite ones on the 1 to 6 no..thks
I've been playing for 9 years and never bought a pedal. Given the amount of time I had off this year due to covid, I finally picked on up. This thing is so so useful. Especially the looper. I can have a jam session on my own!
I have my best and most expensive amp and cab in the living room now. I seemed to do more playing in the living room than in the guitar room, so swopped with the modelling amp. The amp is a Suhr Badger 30 with matching 1x12 cab. It sounds amazing but it is a boutique amp and was not cheap by any means, so it should sound blood good. However, it does not have reverb. So I use the Mooer GE100 for delay and reverb. Now the big advantage of having a great sounding amp is that even the cheapest, most crappy guitar you can find sound like a Custom Shop guitar thru this amp. And, YES the GE100 pedal sounds amazing thru the amp too. I have a pedal board with a few more expensive pedals on it and the GE 100 effects sound as good (some actually sound better). This is one hell of a bargain pedal. It does everything and it does it well. The pedal is plastic, but I have had it for well over 7 years and it is still going strong.
Hi I have this pedal and the looper is very sensitive timing wise, there is little room for human error when it is played along with a drum pattern it can easily go out of time, it is hard to judge when it records and stops when you click on it or release, tricky if you are doing short clips....other than that it is a decent pedal, the wah range is not very expressive also, drum machine feature is pretty good.
looks great. probably get one to just mess around with Might sound like a silly question but can i use it with a bass???? Im thinking of getting a range of bass pedal sounds, is this a good place to start or will the register mess up all the preset?
Streets ahead indeed! Nice to see some cheaper gear, paired up with cheaper gear. Pairing a pedal like this with something like a Fender and a Mesa Boogie kinda defeats the purpose
Great video nice to see you use gear that's all roughly in the same sort of price range. Personally id have gone for a micro terror and matching cab which would save you 70 odd quid on the 35w combo you picked, still nice to see all that functionality and quality for under £500 pounds.Great for bedroom artists and beginners tho keep it up mon capitan.
These types of things can still be v good at a more Pro level ( Zoom G3 for example ) if you ignore amp sims, distortions etc and just use them in the FX loop of an amp for traditional digi FX like Reverbs, delays etc
Lot of features packed into such a cheap and small pedal. It doesn't sound amazing, but not horrible, either. Great practice pedal with the looper and drum machine.
Considering my first FX was a Zoom 505, back when ~£100 cost a lot more, this is a fantastic starter item for a new guitarist with so much more functions than the likes of I had. The only thing wrong with it, for the price, for its type, is that ever so silly name. What kid is going to be keen to answer their friends with "Yeah, I've got a Mooer"?
I’ve been playing 30+ years. This little gem is enough for advanced players too. Great video guys.
Is it better than Vox Stomplab 2g?
Can you share your setting sound?
Amazing for the money. Thanks for the review from Australia

Thanks very much.
hey! just had this ordered locally and now waiting. 😂😂😂😂
Loving the Nike Jerusalems Rob!
loving the Pantera in the beginning. \m/
I love to hear Lee play. Dude got soul.
Captain: it has a built up drum machine .
Rob : IT COULD BE YOUR FRIENDS
my loner ass : that's the funniest shit I've ever heard .
Thanks lads...great demo.just bought one ...I hope to have some fun with with this✌️
Cool and thanks.
You guys should seriously give the G3/G3X multieffects a throrough review. It's a great product.
My first multi fx was a Zoom Ge-something and it was amazing as a 15 year old say. Recording on a 4 track tape recorder. Glory Days :)
Awesome review! Rob's enthusiasm for the pedal is contagious. It's a cool juxtaposition to the Captain's skepticism. Purchased.
Its nice to see that you dont have to spend a fortune to play guitar these days
Some great features on that, I especially like that it has an expression pedal. I can see it being good for portable practice when you'd need to use headphones. As part of a beginners amp setup, though. I 'd recommend something like a blackstar TVP ID:15 over this unit *and* an orange crush.
P.S. I really dig Mooer's mini-pedals.
also...judging from the shine, that dog's behind has been through a lot.
Awesome demo, thanks. Good little pedal.
I've used an older GE100 and they are remarkable. Really cool stuff on there.
Mooer ge100, nux mg100 or zoom g1xon?? I just want to buy an afordable pedal for finding new sounds but I'm not sure...
im in the same boat, do you know now? maybe the vox stomplab???
Digitech element XP?
Up
Hi guys, that was a brilliant review and fun to 👍👍I'm gonna get one for my 10 year old nephew for his Christmas present.. It's a perfect starter kit for him.. Thanks lads 👍✌️👌
I wonder if Ola can perfect this thing in the demo lol
You need to learn how to read Hieroglyphics in order to make this thing function.
Jeez you guys filmed a lot of videos this month, they're great!
Awesome video, Rob. This vid is one of my deciding factors in getting one.
The modern metal is so much better in real life, the noise gate on that thing makes it awesome
mine is comming on october 7, can`t wait to have it and jam with it :-)
Shafordable? :)
This is really cool, massive debate in my head about whether to save for a Boss ME70 secondhand or get this.
save your money for the ampli-fire, check out rob fooling around with it on his channel, it's sick.
+cyanidejunkie117 I'd rather not spend £470 when I'm only gonna be playing in my room
What Cap & Chap did not touch on is you can record a loop, play over it and record, and then add as many additional licks as you like.
The bummer is you lose it when you power down the Mooer.
And the screen is huge. Best I have seen on any multi fx.
Are your saved patches lost when you power down or unplug it, since there is no on/off switch
@@davidkastin4240 Yes, when I power down.
Cheers David
I will investigate furtherance. Thanks
Bought the Mooer years ago…now i have a band practice on Thursday, need to get my dusty shit together….. great video……the dude on the guitar is a fuckin genius of fretage….absolutely excellent
I've just purchased one of these so here's my thoughts:
Pro:
Quality of the effects is better than I expected with very usable Delay,Reverb,Chorus etc
Plenty of user spaces to store patches
Easy to create new patches
Rhythm options not too shabby - good for play along at least.
Really good value for what it does (try buying a separate Delay/Chorus for the same price)
If you want say clean plus a distortion option you can set the mode to the distort section and switch on and off
in a "live" situation - otherwise you would need two adjacent patches to toggle between.
[Edit - there is a sound gap during on/off switching so maybe separate patches are better?]
Con:
Expression pedal next to useless as it changes mode at full extent AND there's a glitch in the signal as it does so!
[Edit: You can stop this by pressing hard down at the EXP part of pedal set up - solves the problem]
When saving patches they are numbered per the built in patch selected when editing i.e P01 becomes U01.
Is there a way to set it up so you have a clean tone when the pedal is 'off', but when you push the pedal on it has a distortion sound?
Loved the shuffle.
This looks good, is it 1 in and out though or can you use the 4 cable method? +Rob Chapman
F@(k1ng great review man! Love your stuff and style, oh and I'm gonna buy one.
very fun review. thank you!
+TheRebel3000 same!!
Sometimes running a guitar straight into the amp can sound great. Look at Tommy Thayer and Paul Allender. It's always good to explore new tones though :)
Thanks for this video! Really good and have just ordered. 79.99 on Amazon...
Have to say... guys... you rock the rock’ and Roll...Awesome know how. Then deep north 🇸🇪 love u guys. Keep doing the doing you do🤘😉👍
I don't know why you guys don't love this thing! I have one and it blows away the mustang 2 effects!
Really? i might give it a try... all i have is a Fender Mustang 1 haha
awesome thinking in buying it..questions,,if lets say you make a mistake on a overdub..can you just cancel that overdube while your 1st look plays?
and can i chance the location of presets..if i want my favorite ones on the 1 to 6 no..thks
I've been playing for 9 years and never bought a pedal. Given the amount of time I had off this year due to covid, I finally picked on up.
This thing is so so useful. Especially the looper. I can have a jam session on my own!
Definitely. Once you have a looper, you enter a whole new world. Lots of opportunities to noodle around haha.
I love you people. Thanks for the plethora of videos lately.
Pretty cool little pedal. I wanna buy even though I have no use for it haha
I just got one they’re awesome and so good considering the low price
looks great. probably get one to just mess around with
Might sound like a silly question but can i use it with a bass????
Im thinking of getting a range of bass pedal sounds, is this a good place to start or will the register mess up all the preset?
Legitimately just got this for 75 cents on wish I’m either gonna laugh or have a good surprise
Which one was it?
I'm a huge fan of yours!
Secretly wishing that this was around when I bought my Line6 POD2. Things have been quite lonely since the FBV4 I had died.
wtf is up with that statue?
Probably a hidden message that this pedal sounds like a fart.
They just cant say it because they are being paid?
Just joking.
@@Xianpaul0523 Or it's the dogs bollocks?
Actually I thought it was Dave Lee Roth's arse and bollocks
I use a Zoom G3 as a tuner only.
David Nouis savage
Lot of features packed into such a cheap and small pedal. It doesn't sound amazing, but not horrible, either. Great practice pedal with the looper and drum machine.
Surprisingly good!
Very nice! Good play)
Rob's last solo was epic!
That loop jam was sweet
