A whole YEAR I’ve been wanting to understand how to do isolated chrome designs 😩 thank you SO MUCH
Yesss me too. I’ve been seeing them everywhere and FINALLY I know
Same sis sameeeeee, such a life saver. Ironically I have everything needed, but the technique 🤣
i still can’t figure out the technique. i’m trying to do little sparkle star type things. think i need to step away for the evening
@@catherinemay27did you get it to work out for you by chance..i have yet to try this
I didnt find my answer to that question in this video 😢 it needs more than a seal of a top coat, bc it can chip, but she didnt mention that
fantastic tutorial - so straight and to the point, without a 10 minute pre-amble of all the thoughts in your head and what you did that day, before the instructions begin like SO many other videos. You covered so many key points, it was so HELPFUL!!
Gabby, Thank You! Clear and concise explanations without the the excess babble. Also, I LOVE that you aren't being over the top enthusiastic about it. You seem genuine and it is truly a breath of fresh air.
Only cure your no wipe tc for half the specified time. I used to have problems with the powder sticking. Reducing the cure time really helps.
I watched another video on using powders a few days ago and the person was doing gold over a yellowish base color. It did make the gold look a little brighter than gold over black. Makes me wonder if silver would be brighter over gray. Definitely going to try some of your designs. They're simple and elegant!
I love that you were so clear and concise! Just what I needed without all the unnecessary fluff🙏❤️ Thank you!
I just wanna say thank u so much. My husband got me some of the most prettiest purple /red/orange tented crome, it came in orange tent n a green tent, I luv it but couldn't find out how to use it, till I came across yr video. N u showed me how, as soon as my hands hill from a chemical burn n I can my nails again. I will b able to do my nails again. So again thank u from the bottom of my heart. I can't thank u enough. God bless u. N thank u.
been trying different methods on how to do chrome designs and they never worked until i found your video, thank you so much i love you
Alright so I tried using base coat it was sticky for real it doesn’t work so I used top coat and I realized other brands do not work well!!! I finally found a brand with the top coat that works like sugar! Thank you darling for the tip may God bless you !!!
Using a matte top coat was the best tip since I’ve been doing nails!! Thank you
I know this video is a few months old but I actually want to add that just using matte top coat does not work at all for me and a lot of over techs. The only think that has worked for me is doing a layer of matte top coat and then buffing it before doing the chrome design. If not, the chrome still sticks everywhere. Maybe it depends on the brand. Buffing the layer will help a lot tho!
I was struggling with that thank you
thank you!! matte NEVER works for me
omg i thought i was the only one with that problem, thanks!!!
I’m having that same issue. I even went over the matte with acetone and it helped a little but I will try buffing it next time
Great tip on the matte! I don't use a no wipe topcoat, I just remove the dispersion layer with alcohol and then buff in my powders. I assumed nail art like that would have to be done by removing the powder where you don't want it with a qtip in alcohol or something obnoxious.
I have MANY ideas now lol
yes there are definitely different ways to achieve this but for me matte is the easiest method!
This is the comment I was looking for as I don’t have a no wipe, so thank god I don’t have to buy something else ❤
Thanks for this! I don’t have a a no-wipe top coat so I’ve been trying to find this answer!
I appreciate an actually informative video! No gatekeeping. We greatly appreciate it!!!!
THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR! THANK YOU! I loved the Do's and Don'ts too!
I've noticed that using a top coat underneath doesn't last long for me or other techs I've worked with at salons when doin a full-coverage chrome nail. It starts chipping the next day so I started using a base instead to apply the chrome powder on top and then seal it with top coat. For me, it stays on with no chipping on the edges.
So totally helpful. I didn’t even know about any of this. I just ordered everything and I can’t wait to try it.
The Best tutorial on Chrome Powder I;ve seen!! THANKS
Thank you for this video!! I watched other videos and they had me thinking I had to use a whole other product (chrome base) just to apply the chrome design. Now I know why my chrome French tips were A MESS🤣🤣
This was such a super helpful video! Thank you! I don’t feel as overwhelmed anymore to work with chrome.
This was the holy grail of tutorials ✨
This video saved my behind! I want to do some funky chrome designs, and all of these tips are so perfect. Can't wait to try this out! Thanks!
It works with eye shadows too. Your designs are beautiful
OmG thank you i was STRUGGLING with doing dessin on colour because it obviously would stick toe cutting and also with the bits of glitter getting literally everywhere. You’re a saviour lol ❤
I didn't have an idea what chrome nails was and u just made everything so easy.. Thank you
WOW. You told us all exactly how to do this in every which way. Thank you.
This was super helpful! I just subscribed.❤ i recently did my nails with a chrome design and it came out 😢 it rubbed off. Wasn’t using the correct top correct nor did I cure it properly. Ty for this video 🙏🙏
This is the best instructional video on RUclips.
Beautiful designs and useful tips Gabby cause i thought there was something wrong wit my chrome powder and the whole time i didnt put top coat on the nail it rubbed off ugh now i know thank you🥰
You’re welcome, so glad it helped you!!
@@GabbyAngelique you have no idea how much it helps 🥰
I always come back to this video for chrome nail art! Great video, tysm🙏🏻💖
Not sure if this is helpful as I just got my chrome powders but the manufacturer's direction said to only cure the topcoat layer that you use before applying the powder for 10- 20 seconds ( depending on the power of the lamp) because if cured too long it would be hard to apply the powders and too short I wouldn't get the mirror effect.
So annoying she doesn’t mention cure times, for example after Matt coat how long to cure for? And then after draw design then how long to cure for?
@@luxy1193each product has its own cure time that’s specific to the brand. You have to follow manufacturers instructions
If you didn’t want the matte effect in the end? Would you/can you just add a shiny top coat after sealing in the chrome area? Or would it be easier to just add the shiny top coat to the over all mail without sealing in the chrome?
Omg thank you for this video!! I'm applying to an academy to become an esthetician and this helped me understand how to use those chrome powder. :)
Still trying to decide if I want to give this technique a try but so appreciate your methodical tutorial: thanks so much!!
you should!! It’s honestly so much fun and you can create so many different looks with this technique
And thank you!
Yes yes yes💃💃💃💃 this is the video I have been looking for 😘😘😘 thank you soo much ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I JUST LEARNED SO MUCH THANK YOU
OMG, you're so talented! I will give it a whirl, but I'm terrifed!😆
I really needed to know how to do the chrome lines. Thank u so much 🌷
I have seen some videos that say to cure the no wipe top coat half the time it says. It works great for me. But do make sure you wipe away the dust before top coating again. I forgot one time and was not happy. Thanks for the tips though.
Great tutorial, my efforts have ended up messy . I now know what has been going wrong . Thanks so much .
wow stunning! i actually loved the 'don't' example too :)
This is so helpful, thank you! Using the matte topcoat for nail art answered my questions!
Did you catch the cure time after Matt top coat?
I personally do like that chrome 3d effect, looks cool.
This is such a great video thank you so much for posting it! I do have a question, if we want a glossy finish can we apply the matt top coat to have an easier space to work with and then apply glossy over the matt once we've wiped away the excess product?
Very good tutorial. Thanks ❤
Thank you! I stopped using chrome bc it just won't stick nicely and leave powder everywhere. I will definitely try using your tricks.
This video made me subscribe. You taught me so many useful things!!! I was wondering why my chrome powders looked my glittery...😅🤦🏼♀️
They're still pretty, just not the effect I was going for. 🤣
Loved this easy to follow directions and straight to the point! Thanks Gabby 😊
For chrome powder I read to use water base top coat, then apply powder and a top coat. Which I ordered. I haven’t tried chrome… I’m still learning to prefect gel… it can change shape fast, mud slides 😳Slopes, dimples, pokies, and more run ons 😱 perfectionist nightmares!
A water-based top coat is for when you're using chrome powder over regular nail polish. You need a no-wipe top coat when you're using it over gel polish though.
this is the best video i’ve seen on chrome nails yet. THANK YOU 🩵
Hey thank u for tips ❤but do u clean up after u dry the chrome right
Gahhhh I can’t wait to try the over matte look! Thank you boo, loved this video!
This helped a lot when I was drawing a gold crown on a client
Your videos get me excited about doing my nails! So inspiring!
awesome, very straight forward and practical, many thanks!
Omg my whole life is a lie. I don’t know where I got the idea, but I always thought chrome powder had to go on top of something with a sticky layer. I just finished swatching all of my powders (I got a variety set as a Christmas present and have been procrastinating all year lol) and now I feel like I have to do it again to see if they will look better with your technique!
So THIS is how they make cute little star designs that ive been seeing on my ig explore
So weird i have been googling for hours today how i get it to stick on some things and not others? I mean to get the embossed look? What does chrome not stick to?! Then you posted this? Just I've seen videos where they use a liner brush to put on lines of what looks like normal gel polish then they put chrome onto the lines only??
@@losbiiblicos oh ok thanks so much 👍 i get so confused! I thought chrome powder was the same as pigment 🤦♀️😂🤷♀️ so obviously that didn't end well! So i will give this way a go instead! 👍🤗💅🏻✨ Xx
@@losbiiblicos I won't lie I don't understand the first part of your reply? Maybe im reading it wrong though 😂 its been a long day and its a Monday so..... Xx
@@losbiiblicos lol bless you no I wasn't meaning to be rude sorry if i came across that way! I just couldn't work out that part of the message and wondered as sometimes our phones change words and make them not make sense 😂
Well if English isn't your first language then bravo because you are doing better than i can in French or any other language apart from English and probably English too 😜🤣🤗 Thankyou for sharing your experience with me! And for helping me 👍💅✨💕
It does stick to the regular polish tacky layer but as she pointed out, it doesn't look as good as when using the no wipe top coat. I think that's what you were asking?
@@notanotherfuckingnikki sorry i have re read my original message and it doesn't make as much sense as i hoped it did 😜😂🤦♀️
What I was asking or trying to ask is.... How do I stop the chrome powder sticking to everything?
If I just want it to stick to say a heart I have painted on with liner brush and top coat? Will it only stick to the heart? Or will it stick to the polish underneath too? And do I have to put matte underneath the top coat heart for it to not stick?
I’ve tried using a matte top coat for the isolated designs and it still sticks to every matte polish I own lol it actually sticks better than it does with my no wipe top coats. Idk where I’m going wrong 😅
Very helpful thank you!! I keep seeing these videos and now I finally know the secret
You are a life saver with this
Me gustaron los tips, muy buenos como siempre Gaby 💕
Just Awesome,,,do you have to have a Gel light to get the Chrome mirror effect???? Thank you
I have a chrome powder I haven't tried yet, thanks for the tips 💖
literally did every don't 😂 thanks for this video!
Te amo! Era Justo lo que buscaba 💗💗💗
When sealing in the chrome, do you use a no wipe gel top coat or regular alcohol wipe gel top coat
Do you think it would be possible to use the topcoat with a stamping plate and then chrome the stamped design? Would be so cool if it could work.
Is it possible to do it with a top coat that I have to wipe and just... wipe? And then do the chrome?😅 or it really is just no-wipe top coat?
hi thank you!! do you have to use black under the chrome powder?
Hi hun, I just came across you channel for the first time and you have a new subbie 🙂. Stay safe and healthy hun. 🎀💞 Xoxo 💞🎀
Thanks for this, it was really helpful. Blessings from across the pond, Scotland. 🙏 🏴 ❤️
I wish I could like this 2000000 times 😢😢❤❤❤❤girlllllll😩
Question: instead of gel can u use clear nail polish?
there is two more things.. the matte top coat also helps to keep the top coat lines clear, other undergrounds they flow a bit... it's also worth a try to buff the nail instead of using the matte top coat, I noticed the pigment is on their much less than on the matte top coat and that's useful if you want to topcoat the whole nail after the chrome 😊
Gabby beautiful nails 💅🏼 😍 💕 💖 💗
thank you!💕
Tysm for this❤️ you are a life saver!
Can I use the chrome powder on regular nail polish and then gel like (no light) top coat?
When you do the nail art w/chrome, can you top coat it with shiny?
So helpful I’ve been struggling with this. Thank you. 😍
This was incredibly helpful, thank you!
Very simple and precise thank you❤
You’re welcome 🩷
@@GabbyAngeliqueexcellent tutorial, thank you
Thank you this was super helpful 😁🥰
amazing tutorial just what i needed!
If you don't have a no wipe top coat can you do it with one after wiping it?
Just what I needed! Thanks
Thanks Gabby!!!❤
Thank you so much for this video!!! I can't wait to get started with this technique :)
welcome!! I hope it helps you out 💕
@@GabbyAngelique I'm sure it will! :)
Thanks for this upload I really needed it 💞
If you ask me when you did the don’t on the gel color directly, I’d describe it as a satin finish? Reminds me of the metal hardware which aren’t perfectly reflective and I believe they are called satin finish.
hmm yes it definitely does give more of a satin finish! Still pretty I just wanted the mirror look
Can you do a builder gel, gel color , top coat then chrome? Im new lol
hi gabby! So, i have a question! I've been painting my nails for a while and wondering if you can lose you taste from being around nail polish
ail remover? Should i start wearing a mask? Do u have any tips that could help me out? Thank you so much!!🌼🐸
Is the final coat a no wipe or regular top coat?
i've seen chrome effect on a 3d fine line, almost as if it were applied over spider gel but the effect was more raised. what do you think the artist used?
Thank you I really Lean alot❤❤❤
Thank you 💕
What do you recommend for longevity of the chrome? I feel my chrome manis don't last long but maybe that's the brand of products I'm using.
Great chrome vid, thank you!
You’re welcome!
Thank you for the useful video dear ❤️
Very beautiful and elegant!
thank you!
PLEASE HELP! ive been looking for the answer everywhere and i just cant find it, probably because my question is too specific so i hope you see this! is there going to be much difference if i dont use a no wipe top coat and just use a regular top coat then wipe the sticky residue off? thank you so much for the video by the way
