Ronald G. Gonzaga BTLED - IA 3rd year After seeing the video, I've come to understand how crucial the curriculum is, as well as its components and elements. I also discovered that the curriculum's components are objectives, material (or subject matter), techniques (or learning experiences), and evaluation.
Good eve ma'am, after watching and listening I've learned something about the two perspective of curriculum, first the traditional perspective and progressive view, when talks about traditional perspective it is the simply study or course of the study, while the progressive point it's about the total transformation or total experience of the individual or more learning by doing. ROBENACIO, DANICA D. BTLED-IA, 3 After watching the presentation Ivey realized how curriculum is important in learning process. By its contents from the start up to end. Also I've learned about the curriculum components and it's elements, also curriculum has its components such objectives, techniques and evaluation.
Balading, Mar Anthony C. Btled-IA 3rd Year Oct. 5&7, 2031 Based on the video discussion, I learned and conclude that the teacher should have well planned because they are the one who mold the students become a better version of their self. The traditional is the simple course of study, the simply the knowledge thet students should be learn. In other words the traditional is just focus on syllabus while the progressive is the total knowledge and should lead to the total transformation of individual so it need total learning experience whereas more on learning by doing, is just not ordinary experience but the total learning of students that will lead to students to learn and understand what learning all about. Its like muscle memory where even you close your eyes or you got amnesia you can still say which is which. I also learned the different components and elements of Curriculum from the video presentation, which is very important when building curriculum. The first in the Curriculum Aims, Goals, and Objectives section is as prospective educators, we must always know what our purpose is and what has to be done for our students, and it must be consistent with or guided by the institution's vision, mission, and goals. Every time we enter the learning station, this first component will drive us toward our eventual goal. The Curriculum Content or Subject Matter is the second component; when you've defined a goal, the next step is to work on the content. The teacher should choose a topic that is both relevant and feasible for the students to understand. To help students prepare for the future, teachers must be futuristic. The Curriculum Experiences are the third category. This component focuses on teaching methods, instructional strategies, resources, and activities that must be considered for learning to be engaging and productive, as well as for learners to understand and attain the learning outcomes, goals, and objectives. Finally, curriculum assessment is a component that focuses on the method and instrument used to evaluate the curriculum's results and identify the product's quality, effectiveness, and worth. It is now time to focus on the method and instruments that will be used to evaluate the program's results in order to determine whether the curriculum is successful, effective, of high quality, and capable of meeting the aims and objectives of/for the learners.
Good eve ma'am, after watching and listening I've learned something about the two perspective of curriculum, first the traditional perspective and progressive view, when talks about traditional perspective it is the simply study or course of the study, while the progressive point it's about the total transformation or total experience of the individual or more learning by doing. Ortego, Leomar M. BTLEd-IA 3rd Year After watching the video, I've learned a lot about the elements and components of a curriculum and it was also mentioned or discussed about the two perspective of curriculum which is the traditional perspective and the progressive points of view of curriculum. It was stated on the video that when we say traditional perspective it's just only a syllabus, a course of the study. There are some theories of the traditional points of view of curriculum and every theorist defined about there own understanding just like Arthur Bestor an essentialist, he claimed that a curriculum should be intellectual learning. It give emphasis on the knowledge and it focuses on the literature, grammar and writing. Not just like in progressive points of view of curriculum it's very different because curriculum are the total learning experiences of individual according to John Dewey theory in which its more on learning by doing. It should also lead to the total transformation of the learners. Lastly, the learning experience of every learners should be meaningful that leads to a reflective thinking and if the learners can reflect here comes the construction of the knowledge.
DE GABRIEL, JOCELYN MARINO BTLED-AFA 3 After watching the video I have learned that the elements of curriculum would guarantee the success of a curriculum. Any curriculum consists of several components: objectives, attitudes, time, students and teachers, needs analysis, classroom activities, materials, study skills, language skills, vocabulary, grammar and assessment. The integration of all curriculum components in different subjects is important to the learner as it help them as individual learners in the society to be developed into fully prepared citizens in meeting the aims and goals of education.
GABARDA, RITA D. BTLED-HE 3 I've learned about this topic is that the curriculum has two perspective point of view, one is the Traditional Perspective and the Progressive Point of View. The traditional Points of View in Curriculum it just a syllabus and simply course of study that fucoses on intellectual training and more on permanent studies would emphasis to the trainers. While the Progressive Point of View these are the total learning experiences of the individual and it should be meaningful. Just like the theory of John Dewey's is more on "learning by doing" A curriculum has a differ meaning and should need the total of transformations of the individuals or learner's. Then the teachers is one of the facilitator to guide the learner's if they are in the right track. Curriculum aims goals and objectives just like a plan, the teachers should be prepared upon entering the learning stations, to make sure that the learning become a meaningful.
BEDEO, SYRA JEAN G. BTLED-IA 3 My insight to the video discussion it's about the elements and component of curriculum and different perspectives curriculum just like the traditional perspectives and progressive view. When we say traditional point of view of curriculum it just the course of the study and syllabus. And when we say progressive point of view it's about the total learning experience of the student under the guidance of a teacher. Here are the four element/component of the curriculum the aim goal and objectives, subject matter/content, learning experiences, evaluation approach. That this element provides the learning of the student.
Pedrito P. Robiego, III BTLEd-IA 3rd Year Based on the video that I watched. I've learned the TWO PERSPECTIVE OF CURRICULUM. First is the Tradition Point of View Curriculum, that tells about only in syllabus, course of study, and content of what the students should be learning. Second is Progressive Points of View of Curriculum, it doesn't just build a curriculum but for progressive theses are the total learning experiences of an individual. I've also learned about the FOUR COMPONENTS OF CURRICULUM. First component is the Curriculum Aims, Goals, and Objectives, in this component teachet should know the exact to do in the learning station. Every teacher should have a goal once they enter in the learning station. The goal should be congruent to the vision of the umiversity/institution and to the mission and goals where you ard teaching. Secon component is the Curriculum Content or Subject Matter, after you set a goal what you should to do now is the content. Teacher should be select a content where the student will be able to undertand that someting relevant and realistic. Teacher must futuristic to help the learners to be prepared for their future. The third components is Curriculum Experiences, teaching strategies here is essential to make the learners more engaging. Teaching strategies convert the curriculum to instruction. Both the teacher and learner take actions to facilatate learning. The forth components is Curriculum Evaluating, it talks about here the curriculum itself. Conducting a research through asking the graduates of what is impact of the curriculum to them on their present life. This researh will help us to identy if this curriculum is successful or not.
Loyogoy, Steven Rico L. BTLEd-IA / 3rd Year After watching the video I learned about the Elements and Components of Curriculum and the different point of view. The first component of constructing a curriculum there should be a goals and objective. The second component is that the student should able to understand why they need to learn and what should be the benefit to each student.
Good morning ma'am Magdaraog, Crishun Jay E. Ive learned the two different points of view of curriculum It refers to the total learning experiences of individuals not only in schools but in society as well. Traditional point of view is just merely saying on the body of subjects or subject matter prepared by the teachers for the learners. According to the Robert Hutchins, curriculum is like “permanent studies” It meant more on the important subjects that learners should study like English, Math, and Science. Progressive points of view of curriculum believe that individuality, progress, and change are fundamental to one's education. Believing that people learn best from what they consider most relevant to their lives, progressivists center their curricula on the needs, experiences, interests, and abilities of students.
Good Day, Ma'am😇 After watching and listening thoroughly I have learned that the curriculum has two points of view which are the Traditional and Progressive Points of View. Traditional Points of View in Curriculum simply viewed as course of study, it focuses more on intellectual training and various discipline while on the other hand, Progressive Points of View in Curriculum viewed as total learning experienced that will lead students to develop reflective thinking by engaging them to various experiences that will make learning meaningful. Moreover, I also learned that there are a total of four components: 1. Goal and objectives 2. Subject matter and content 3. Learning Experiences 4. Curriculum Evaluation Mission, Vision, Objectives, and Goal the first thing to ask and think about is what are the things that should be done to mold and hone students to their best selves. This is why setting objectives first were very essential in making a curriculum. It must be well planned in able to develop holistic learning. That is the reason why teachers are on learning stations to guide students equipped them with appropriate and necessary skills and attitudes to prepare them for the real world outside the school. The second component is the subject matter and content in subject matter consideration should be suited to the maturity and level of the intellectual capacity of the students, it should address the needs of the society, teachers should be futuristic to prepared individuals to the possibilities that may happen in future in able them to easily adjust and find a solution to their problems in various field. Content selection is very crucial in curriculum development that is the reason why the following are into considerations; frequently and commonly used in daily lives, suited to maturity levels and ability of students, valuable in meeting the need and competencies of a future career, related with other subject areas, and important in the transfer of learning. Subject matter should also include: Self Efficiency - resourceful in able to develop cognitive, affective, and psychomotor skills and also include cultural aspects Significance - there should be removed or putting end to the idea, information, and knowledge that are no longer applicable to the current time Validity - if the content becomes obsolete it is not valid anymore it needs some upgrading Interest - learners will value the idea and knowledge if it is meaningful to them and should take into consideration. It makes them keep going. The third component is Curicullum Experiences. Teaching strategies should be engaging (active and interesting ) It is the conversion of the curriculum into information and instruction. In this component, teachers should have the deposition of being flexible because anytime things can change. The fourth and last component/element is Curicullum Evaluation this refers to the formal determination of quality, effectiveness, or value of the program, process, and product of the curriculum. Evaluation needs conduct tracers- it is about researching through asking the graduates what were the impacts of the curriculum in finding the job and to their daily lives outside schools after they have graduated. It needs to be aligned with the curriculum content. Thank you💙 Happy Teacher's day po Ma'am
