Wish Subaru perfected these engines from the factory in all of the 30 years they had.
All they’d need to do is make them closed deck, add more clearance between the top of the piston and the first ring, and increase the ring gap by a few mm and it would be perfect

Stock block type ra been making 482 at the wheels for a year now being very abusive to my car, no issues yet. *knock on wood* gonna keep sending her until the bearings give out. The EJs just needed better pistons the old 18 and below blocks had ringland failure pretty early, no longer an issue with the 19+
Their FA engines are shit also. I did see a 2015 fa20 wrx with 245k miles though. Id love to ask him how
@@chinchy111 my 2015 Wrx had 212k miles before I traded it in for a 2020 mustang gt. It was full bolt on and a pro tune. On the stock block I was making 385hp. Traded it in when it started blowing blue smoke.
