My dog is usually wild and crazy, but he was surprisingly calm when I was filming this video. He turns 3 this month, and I think he's finally growing out of the puppy phase, ha ha!

This is so cute!! I was born in the early 2000’s but I’ve always been attached to the 80’s series! I watched a lot of older cartoons as a kid and even now as a teenager and I always wanted cool stuff like this
Sweet! We recommend checking your local charity thrift shops, church rummage and estate sales to hunt for vintage toys like these. Thanks for watching my video!
Ok, Strawberry shortcake was my absolute favorite toy when I was a kid!! I didn’t have all the dolls though. I had ssc, hucklebery pie, raspberry tart, purple pieman and sour grapes. I had a ton of those little pvc figured. I had a lot of strawberry shortcake nightgowns and I also had a pair of blueberry muffin pajamas. My favorite character is blueberry muffin, although I never had her when I was a kid. I had a strawberry shortcake bike with a banana seat and training wheels. I still have it. It was my first bike I learned to ride. Now, today, I have an explosive vintage strawberry shortcake collection. I have at least one doll of every character and their pets. The berry happy home, a carriage, the blow kiss dolls, games, books, you name it, I probably have it. I will have to make a video of my collection now!! I think I may have already posted one. I’m not sure. I have to check. I’ll send you a link if I did. What one was your favorite smell? Mine was purple pieman. He smelled so good, I wanted to eat him. 😂
Wow!!! I'm so impressed that you have such a huge Strawberry Shortcake collection Melissa! The bike sounds so cute, and the berry happy home is totally awesome! I never had that one, but I had gotten my Smaller Homes dollhouse around the same time, so that's probably why I didn't ask for it for Christmas. You should definitely make a video, I'd love to see your stuff! My favorite smell was the apple one, but seriously they all smelled SO good! Thanks for stopping by and sharing your memories! I always enjoy reading your sweet comments. Hope you have a "berry" fun weekend :)

Aww, thanks Brian! Welcome to the party!! Sorry to hear you missed out on the Strawberry Shortcake craze back in the day! It's never too late! BTW- I've seen a new retro version at Target, so you can make that dream a reality!!
There were six Strawberry Shortcake Prime Time specials, one a year from 1980 thru to 1985. They set the tone for toylines in the 80s as multimedia franchises with cartoons, comics, books etc
Oh my goodness!! I don't think I could stand to remove the heads off my dolls, yikes! I'm sure that would work though, if you're brave enough to try it. Thanks for the tip!
Cute Strawberry Shortcake lunch box. I almost got one but I opted for E.T. instead. You wouldnt believe i was just watching this video of a young woman opening a barbie dream house she bought for $6,000. Same one i had as a kid. I used to throw barbie off the top banister. Then ken would rescue her and carry her back up in his arms. Ill never forget how on Christmas it took like 4 adults to put it together. I had this 80s barbie pool too. It had a shower on the back of it that pumped water. That was my favorite toy. Anyway i was looking online hoping to find the one and only cabbage patch kid i had. Too bad, you cant find it since they were all unique. I did see a cabbage patch seat and crib though. That brought back memories.
Oh my goodness!! It's crazy how much some of our old toys have increased it value. $6,000 DANG!! We definitely wish we had kept some of our other toys, especially Keith's original Star Wars action figures. Have you seen the prices on those lately?!
@@Our80sLife no, I haven't. My friend here is the star wars fan too. I saw some barbie dream houses on ebay for a couple hundred I think. She must have got it brand new. To think that a young woman who has no memory attached to it, would spend 6 grand on it. Goes to show that to some people, 6 grand isn't much. Anyway, I only wanted a few little things to remind me of what my mother got me. Strawberry shortcake. E.T. was big hit for me. A cabbage patch preemie with a beige tuft and everything included. I'll never forget that christmas because I found the stash beforehand. I was pretty darn excited. Ill never forget year prior they were hundreds of dollars. This woman bought herself one. And let me "borrow it" for a week. Saying i had to give it back, lol. But she was nice though. At least I have just one toy from my childhood. It's an E T watch. It's finger lit up and played the theme. Well it's on my dresser. Still has the added holes punched to fit my 7 yr old wrist. (Which you cant buy on ebay) Another memory is of this little 80s doll house by Matell. It was called the Littles. Well I'm mad at Ebay because everything gets bid and sold when I'm not looking. Plus, some people are charging as much for shipping. No thanks. I may just get one little doll in a box. Just to hang on a memory. I spend too much time in the past anyway. I could use a house of my own! In 2024! Anyway, congrats on the my little pony for three bucks. Toys really do make for a great childhood memory. Though as an 80s child, not always. Because we actually played outdoors or did other things. Made our own toys. Climbed trees and things.
Sure!! Thanks so much for watching. I've got a fun thrift haul coming out this week that I think you'll enjoy. I found a bunch of neat little Happy Meal toys from the 80s. Stay tuned :)
I wanted that lunchbox, for first grade, but my Mom had already ordered me a different one. I made up my mind, not to like whatever it was, that she brought home, because it wasn't THAT one! LOL. My Grandma bought me a Strawberry Shortcake school bag, though. It still has my maiden name, and, "Grade 1," written inside it.
Im 45 year old woman still love my favorite doll, its smell, cartoon, tenis shoe, pjs, sleeping bag....😭😭😭😭What about its original Corn Flakes, Yes, the puffy pink balls?
The original dolls were marked on the back of their heads ‘American Greetings Corps 1979’ and were made by Kenner. First edition dolls had flat hands, and the later ones were curved. These features can help you date the early dolls. Thanks for watching! 🍓

After making this video, I got a chance to meet her... dream come true!! Here's a link to that video, in case you missed it: ruclips.net/video/pJbl_YbhREI/видео.html

@@Our80sLife How did you know?
great video my aunt had some strawberry shortcake stuff growing up
Nice! Thanks for stopping by our channel Sarah!
You know some of these figures are worth a lot of money, particularly the ones in the boxes.
Yo. I love this. Thank you. Mid video and I’m checking your playlist and getting ready to smash that subscribe button. Then like. I wanted strawberry shortcake so bad. But. I was a boy. So... it looks like I really missed out... 😞 thanks for the video. ☺️ have a nice day
Aww, thanks Brian! Welcome to the party!! Sorry to hear you missed out on the Strawberry Shortcake craze back in the day! It's never too late! BTW- I've seen a new retro version at Target, so you can make that dream a reality!!
I loved strawberry short cake, her bonnet smelt of strawberry , I had colouring books pens puzzle etc. I think there was a cartoon?
There were six Strawberry Shortcake Prime Time specials, one a year from 1980 thru to 1985. They set the tone for toylines in the 80s as multimedia franchises with cartoons, comics, books etc
found out how to rescent the dolls! u pop off there heads put a essential oil of ur choice in there pop the head back on then shake it up
Oh my goodness!! I don't think I could stand to remove the heads off my dolls, yikes! I'm sure that would work though, if you're brave enough to try it. Thanks for the tip!
@@Our80sLife u could try and just put scents in their hair aswell
I know this is 1 month late! But I love your collection videos I watched them a lot of times! Can you please do more there very fun to watch
Sure!! Thanks so much for watching. I've got a fun thrift haul coming out this week that I think you'll enjoy. I found a bunch of neat little Happy Meal toys from the 80s. Stay tuned :)
Apple Dumpling not blossom Haha ❤
Ooops! I knew that, lol! Thanks for watching my video :)
I feel old!!! 🤣
Me too!!!
First graders are fickle, lol!
@@Our80sLife, no, I knew what I wanted. Wanted it for years, after that, in fact.
I love this!
Thank you 🥰
Great collection! But how cute is your puppy?! 🐶
Ha ha, thanks Taylor! He always finds a way to take over our videos, the little camera hog! 😂
i got a remake of strawberry shortcake at the store!
I remember myself in the 80s
🥰
Was that your favorite character in the series?
Omg your my fav !
How clever of your folks to save such a beautiful collection. Anybody know what prizes Kenner gave for the berry points. Was it anything g exclusive?
Thanks Crystal! I remember there was a charm bracelet and charms with the different characters you could collect using Berry Points.
I always wanted the twins Lem and Ada.
Aren’t they so cute?! 🥰
I got that doll from a new friend 👥
Nice friend!
About the strawberry shortcake baby it was on the 1982 so it is very old to 😊
Im 45 year old woman still love my favorite doll, its smell, cartoon, tenis shoe, pjs, sleeping bag....😭😭😭😭What about its original Corn Flakes, Yes, the puffy pink balls?
Love all that nostalgia!
@@Our80sLife 😭😭😭😭😭😭 I want those corn flakes back.
Can you please show us where the year is stampee on the 1979 1980 strawberry shortcake dolls?
The original dolls were marked on the back of their heads ‘American Greetings Corps 1979’ and were made by Kenner. First edition dolls had flat hands, and the later ones were curved. These features can help you date the early dolls. Thanks for watching! 🍓
Do you also played with Rainbow Brite?
No, I didn't. Somehow that one escaped me. My favorites were Strawberry Shortcake, Hello Kitty, Cabbage Patch Kids, Care Bears, and Smurfs.
I remember the large Strawberry Shortcake doll that you could squeeze her stomach and her breath would smell like strawberries.
Those were neat. I never actually had one of those. I think I was just so into Cabbage Patch Kids by then I never asked for one.
i have one
Cool collection did you use watch the strawberry shortcake cartoon? Even though I'm guy I use love watch strawberry shortcake on Saturday mornings back then. I wonder if you liked My little pony cartoon to and do you have any My Little Pony collection to?
Thanks Brian! Yes, I enjoyed the cartoon but for some reason I never got into My Little Pony. It's funny how we're drawn to certain characters and not others. I also loved the Smurfs!
@@Our80sLife yeah that is funny man i love smurfs. This funny a lot my friends use like Power Rangers but I never did I more liked Teenage Mutant Turtles and I was in Stars Wars,Spiderman,Batman,He-Man,Thundercats,Buck Rogers and even though I'm straight guy I use love watching the Carebears to I don't know what happened to it but I use have Care bear doll back then......lol
@@Our80sLife oh another thing I'm still big fan until this is Garfield and Peanuts snoopy is my favorite but I actually like any thing is from Charles Shultz and I'm a big Dr.Seuss fan i still watch a lot of cartoons I grew up with even though I'm grown and adult and I'm big Disney fan I like all older stuff and shows from the 80's and 90's....lol
@@brianmurphy7809 You’re just young at heart, nothing wrong with that! ❤️ Forgot to mention my favorite… Pee-Wee’s Playhouse! I have the complete DVD set and never tire of watching it, ha!

Do you have an opinion about shipping Huckleberry with Strawberry?
Interesting question. He’s one of the only boy characters, besides Purple Pie Man. But I always thought Blueberry Muffin was Strawberry’s BFF. Your call! Thanks for watching my videos! 😊
@@Our80sLife Thanks for answering! If ever you would pick a girl for Huckleberry, would she be Blueberry Muffin or Strawberry Shortcake? And I mean they would be sweetheart someday 🥰
@@shippernessity I think Strawberry 🍓
@@Our80sLife yaaay! I'll take that as a confirmation 🎉 thanks
That Raspberry is just a little tart
Lol!!
What is the difference between the vintage ones and the the reproduction?
I've seen the reproduction at Target, and they look quite similar, but I don't have one to compare. I was thinking of buying one just for the smell, lol!
I melted a spot on my strawberry shortcake’s forehead because I was curling her hair with a curling iron
Ooopsies!! Yes, plastic and curling irons don't mix well, ha!

Raspberry torte
Tell us what berry points you got?
I really don't remember, but I think I got a watch.
