    Thanks guys, I
have been hemming and hawing on whether to pull the trigger on an InReach and
you've sold me. I have really been looking for the old original model as I didn’t
want to pay at least $200+ (used on ebay)
for the SE or more for a new one when I think Garmin is probably going to
update and increase the capabilities in the near future of the next versions of
the InReach. The current Garmin versions really just appear to be a repackaging
of the Delormes. I was lucky enough to find an original model on ebay for a
good price. This will certainly give my wife some piece of mind when I go in my
CO hunt this season as it looks like I will be solo this time. Thanks again I
keep up the good work, love your Podcast.

Most basic plan from Delorme is $12 a month for 10 texts and 10 cents a ping for an annual plan. A freedom level recreation plan is $35 /month and you can chooose 4 months of the year and the price is close to the same.

Maybe a cue card with actual prices would have been good for this one ;)

The sat phone plans are not that expensive. You can pay month to month on them now. You can pick a decent plan from anywhere between about 50 and $100 for a month. And there is no minimum required amount of months. I got a brand new Iridium 9575 Extreme on eBay for $750. It also has the SOS emergency button.

I've used DeLorme gps units for years, the PN 20 was flawless, the PN 40 and 60 freeze up and you have to pull the batteries and reboot it frequently. Did you experience that with the new inreach? I plan to get one for an Alaskan hunt this fall, thanks

I prefer a personal locator beacon. I have no need to communicate back home, so assume im ok unless I press the button.
Its a one time fee and lasts for quite a while on the battery . One con is that the batteries are not user replaceable, so that can be expensive

Question...does the Garmin inReach explorer paired or sync with an iPhone work with already downloaded onXmaps that are on the phone? My phone gps sucks bad, but like onXmaps for hunting in tight access spots between public/private.
Any help or info is appreciated.
    Thanks

Do you guys know if the new Garmin Inreach is much different than the previous Delorme Inreach model?

Have you guys heard anything about "gotenna" (I believe thats the name?).. I believe it plugs into your phone and makes your phone into a rhino of sorts. Paired with the onxmaps app, this is a deadly combo I've been wanting to test out!

Hey Hey, i have a question. How much is this. What about that, How do i get one of these. You see i only know how to go on youtube and no place else on the internet, let alone the actual products site to get answers to my questions. Besides that, i lost nine fingers in a Havalon knife accident and only have my thumb to type so it take me a long time so please answer my questions so i dont have to take 15 seconds to look it up for myself.

Just kinda making a tongue in cheek remark. I constantly see guys asking questions on these podcasts and all a guy has to do is look it up on the companies site. Want to know how much or how it works? How about type in Delorme Inreach and get all the answers you want.
