I went through this in 2019 I was 37. I also had vision and hearing loss I was losing my mind I literally thought I was going crazy. The neurologist I went to found : Slightly prominent CSF space within the sella turcica and flattening of pituitary tissue. My symptoms got worse, way worse it’s like my brain and then my body was shutting down. My vision was because a detached retina (I went 3 years with half of my retina detached) I constantly had pressure in my head and eye pain. Now I wear double hearing aids too! I finally found an HRT doctor that would listen. I had no traceable testosterone low estradiol/progesterone and deficient in b12 and D. I’ve been on full hormones since March 2024. I wish I would have known about Lisa Mosconi, I would have totally been part of the study. It’s really sad how disregarding I was by my doctors 😢
Beginning maybe 5 years ago I started having feelings of fear for the first time in my life. Fear of driving,,I told my family it had to be a change in hormones but no information was available. I now have hope that my estodial medication will bring back my courageous self and beyond..To help with the brain fog I've been experiencing for years

This research and information is amazing to hear!!! So many women are suffering in silence and feel helpless, scared and feel like they're losing their minds. Just to know that you're not alone and there are other women who are experiencing the same exact symptoms and feelings is such a relief (I finally feel like I'm not crazy) and I'm not alone! Thank you so much for sharing your story and experiences.
So grateful for this ongoing research!! Curious if Dr Mosconi will change her opinion about personally taking estrogen (heard her on a podcast say “I hope I don’t need to take it”)
Dr mark gordon, teaches other MDs on the use of hormones, aka, progesterone, in TBI patients. Many times reversing individuals w/ total incapacitation of mental faculties. No mention of estradiol. This is a great find.
I just had to fight a nurse And a doctor to get HRT ... nearly two weeks ago .... if id not found this Amazingly Fantastic Woman and watched enough of her advice / information ... I would not have had the Argument and knowledge to , in th end, Demand what I wanted... which was a patch of estradiol and progesterone combined ... I would have been flatly refused. It will be two weeks in two days and I am feeling So much better already ... I thank you from th bottom of my heart... Thank you ❤️ xx
So sorry to hear that it was such a struggle, but we're SO glad you advocated for yourself! We deserve to have our symptoms treated! We're so glad to hear you're feeling better now. ❤

I would love to see them investigate testosterone in the female brain too. I am convinced this accounts for at least part of the difference in dementia rates between male and female ApoE4 carriers.
I absolutely agree.I am very thankful for Dr. Moscoñi 's groundbreaking research that validates women's neurocognitive symptoms including brain fog, mood swings etc. Something really is happening physically in our brains. So what are women with estrogen sensitive cancers supposed to do when doctors want to block every molecule of estrogen in your body??? I have read the on line comments of debilitating insomnia brain fog, .Women worried about losing their jobs or falling asleep at the wheel. I am breast cancer survived and have declined estrogen blockade because I already have joint pain ,insomnia and memory loss and panic Attacks from stopping my hormone replacement abruptly due to breast cancer.I am already 70 years old. And don't want to spend the last years of my life in absolute misery. Life is tough enough already. I do not buy that you can have a normal life with no estrogen in your body.

Soy bean consumption has been shown through research to reduce hot flashes. Please think outside the medical field's HRT option regarding the effects on the brain for those of us who have aged out of the HRT age option.
I had a hysterectomy 2 years ago kept ovaries. Been i a terrible place but recently started estradiol almost 2 weeks ago. I do feel somewhat better but my brain still feels bad and ive had all tests done. My obgyn didn't add progesterone, do i need it? I have terrible insomnia and anxiety often.
So many practitioners are hesitant to prescribe more than 1mg of estradiol. I had to bump up to 2. Life changing! As she says, the brain receptors are starving for estrogen. Good luck!
My wellness practitioner added progesterone AND testosterone to my estradiol regiment. Find the right practitioner. So many obgyns aren’t trained to adequately manage menopause.
Oh man. Taking all the hormones, transdermally in cyclic dosing at physiologic doses. the prob is almost nill doctors would advise or agree w bhrt for anything more than symtoms, not longevity of health for the rest of a females life. Im taking them til i die, w a little monthly period.
Hi! We fully believe the science and evidence that estrogen after breast cancer is something that can and should be offered to women, and we are here to advocate for shared decision-making and the best quality of life for all women. We understand how frustrating this is! Therefore, we are working hard on creating a pathway to best serve this community with information and personalized care that includes an in-depth review of their cancer history and specific diagnosis, more lengthy and detailed discussion of benefits, risks and alternatives of systemic hormone therapy, and coordination with her health care team. We have some resources dedicated to survivors and webinars on this topic with renowned oncologist Dr. Avrum Bluming at myalloy.com/breast-cancer-faqs
I'd like to knw who funded the tamoxifin study...uh huh. Not buying it. First how would it b measured if the tracer was just developed for her study. Everyone i knw who took AI, tamoxifin, said they def had brain fog, while taking it. Hmmm...

She will be on it like a bonnet - you can't have this level of scientific knowledge and be OK with not having estrogen in your body.

Typically Progesterone isn’t needed if you don’t have a uterus, but you may want to ask your doctor to confirm.
Post breast cancer, post Tamoxifen, post menopause. Just told to suck it up.
