Excellent review! Very good points much appreciated and very nice camera work too!
Very encouraging. I appreciate it.
I have been a bit disappointed with my Bergeon 4040P. What has actually worked better for me so far is the vintage Meyers #58 movement holder. Hard to find and when you do, they are rather expensive. They are worth it though. They don't just grab the movement from the side, they have an angled lip that also grabs the top edge of the movement. On hand removal levers, I like the Horotec ones. Hadn't heard of Timelab until recently.
It's good that there are alternatives for most of these tools. But I really want to see is an actual, real, working, affordable alternative to the Bergeon mainspring winders. Those things are ridiculously expensive for what they are.
I agree. The AliExpress versions are not very good at least not the ones I have.
Any suggestions for an affordable watch screwdriver set?
If you can somehow justify it buy a nice set. The screw drivers are the most used tool in watch repair. Cheap once usually really suck.
@@HeikosGarage Thank you
Thanks again for the advice. My Bergeon screw drivers arrived. They are awesome!
@@thehappywristchannel ah, I didn't read the thread first 😂
Good job on the screwdrivers 😊 👍
I've had the Timelab screwdrivers for a couple of years now, no complaints at all, as a side note I bought a Bergeon 0.5 for hairspring work....and it chipped first time out!... Great review, great tools imo...
Still enjoying the Timelab screwdrivers?
@@whambymedia very much so, they are incredibly good value and extremely servicable. Lots of watchmakers swear by Bergeon as the "creme al a creme" of screwdrivers, but for me they are like Rolex, overpriced and overhyped for something not that special.
@@phillipmaciver3226 I purchased the set of 9 and I'm glad I did! Thanks for turning me onto Timelab!
