Man i kinda regret choosing a Cybersecurity bootcamp over a Software engineering bootcamp 2 years ago. I can’t believe that its been that long already since I started that bootcamp. I mean, it landed me a soc analyst job 1 month after the bootcamp and i been in this position for almost 2 years now. Its a stable, good paying, and “recession resistant” career. I regret it because i feel like this is not what I want. I want a less customer facing role and more WFH friendly job. I want to experience living like a normal human being working during the day, have a social life after work, and sleep at night. But I got none of those. Im learning coding now. Hopefully i can transition to SWE after the recession is over and the economy bounces back.

That sounds like a solid plan. Different companies also have wide range of roles for cyber so it can vary dramatically.

CS will become so useful as studying old sumerian language.

Very informative! I know ChatGPT will be very helpful for beginners of software development if they need any help in understanding a complex topic
    Also 2nd!

Thank you for watching. ChatGPT is one of the best teacher right now. Highly recommend :)

Chatgpt isn't bad, but given the current state, it makes.more sense for someone who understands the development process because it doesn't offer enough prompting to get end results.
I had to refine questions 12 times to get to a final dockerfile for a simple browser text game I'm building, and I had to ask for specific things you only know if you've already played with the system and understand it, as well as how you expect to design the system layout.
Then again, maybe I'm just terrible at prompts haha

What are thoughts on cybersecurity roles or network engineer roles?

Coding won't be as necessary in 15 to 20 years, although there will be a niche market for people who understand different languages, but the skills you'll learn as a developer outside of coding are amazing and transferable to any occupation.
Learn to ask the right question, uncover the right unknowns and you'll be a major player wherever you go.
Also, understanding tech on a moderate to high level (how you can utilise tech for a new process, where ai fits a business case, etc.) Will be infinitely.mor evaluable on the whole, but my guess is end implementation and final checks will always be human in nature. Ai won't (or shouldn't) be trusted because of the massively stark differences that will always exist.
New jobs will appear though, so all's good is good

I’m 30 years old and just finish my second year Computer Science. Do you think I still have a chance at this field? Even though I like the field, I can tell that I am far from being a good learner. I take things slowly, and now we just barely scratch the surface with C++. I feel so stupid compared to chatGPT which can solve my assignments in secs while it is taking me days or weeks to even complete it. Things now become hella competitive, and it feels very discouraging, not welcoming new learners anymore

Hey Daniel thank you for watching. While ChatGPT is powerful is far from perfect. I see it as a great tool for developers and knowing how to use it affect my can also be the key. I would also recommend watching my passionate video. Ask yourself why you want to be in this field :)

Me too, finishing my second year CS. And I feel so hopeless. ChatGPT is literally teaching me how to code lol, while I am still learning C++
