While they certainly were basically just a marketing arm for Nintendo, that Gamecube/GBA/DS/Wii era of Nintendo Power had some cool stuff to it. There was a running feature leading up to the release of Twilight Princess where they interviewed various key members of the game's dev team, and it's just not often that Nintendo lets us look behind the curtain like that these days.
