What an awesome and tastefully done '68 Chevelle. I really like that it was kept a Malibu with only mild restomod touches and not made into another SS clone. (I did that with the '70 Malibu I had way back in the day). I think that factory color is actually called Grotto Blue (code D) and it just looks awesome on this car. The wheels are nice but I might have gone with either the factory '68 style rally wheels or a 16" factory style billet rally with the correct derby caps, but those wheels on it do look cool.

LOVE the rapture cloth inserts in the bucket seats. Chevrolet should have offered that. Looks awesome! I’m not sure how many have done this, but I did this with my ‘68 in black.

Bench seats were standard on Chevelle's including SS models . Bucket seats and center console were an option even on Malibu's . You could also get the roller tack on a Malibu if it came with a V8.

Some of the 68 Chevelle Malibus came with the L79 327 producing 325 hp. I had one. ;(

My 68 still has 327 in it.

      I think the L79 327 was actually a 350HP motor.

Clean. Only thing I don't like are the wheels.

What wheel is a better choice?

@@btuff Those look like some sort of a retro mod Magnum 500 type wheel ... I think some form of the original rallye type wheel would look better. Personal taste of course.
Maybe wheels more like these basic steel.... ruclips.net/video/VMpdqS0WwPM/видео.html
