How is there NOT a Judge Dredd open world game on Play Station? Mega City One is the perfect setting for an open world game with so many possible side stories and quests.
Just talking to the guy who drew some of the dredd artwork. Awesome he just moved to my small village spoke to him about sheep not realising who he was. Loved the dredd comics growing up 👍
@@shenysys Tharg holds no sway over me! The unadulterated thrill-power generated from the average Prog, on the other hand, is a different matter entirely!!!! 😁
I still look back with fondness at growing up with 2000AD. My collection was thrown out by my dad after I left home. “You’re too old for Beano comics” he said😫
In a time when new content is sorely needed rebellion are still doing nothing with dredd. No movies no tv series no video game. Just sell the rights to a company that will do something with it
An FPS based on the urban film would be perfect. Easier environment to make and start at the bottom and work your way up. They could knock that out on a weekend 😂
I used to watch the superfriends so I ddidn't know dredd appeared on it but the entire series is coming to blu ray in a few weeks so I will get that and see if the dredd episode is included
@@trhansen3244 I am 99% sure you're not talking about the same thing as me haha. Boyhood of a superfiend is a one shot Dredd universe graphic novel detailing the human life and makings of Judge Death. :)
Interesting selection! When I assembled my own set of Essential stories to introduce new Judge Dredd readers ( ruclips.net/video/rLfI9-Z4wn4/видео.html ) I have to admit that I picked completely different titles. It just goes to show how deep a character Dredd is and how much there is to talk about that you can have two wildly alternate perspective and still feel as though you've come away with a complete character. Keep up the great work, looking forward to seeing more in the comic and on RUclips! Splundigg vur Thrigg!
My introduction came in the form of the movie starring Karl Urban, then followed up with case files vol. 11 then vol.1 before landing into Essential Judge Dredd: Apocalypse War
The first epic I read was Block Mania/The Apocalypse War. So many of the modern serials (e.g. The Small House, Day of Chaos) are derived from it. So why didn't it make the cut?
to be perfectly honest with you guys even though I love judge dredd ... nothing no story or arc has left any impression on me than the dark judges story/arc. (that and of course the lawgiver all judges hold) Loved judge death and I hope a top quality movie or 2 based on the dark judges arc would be made.
:26 Even you guys get it wrong in this video. Judge Dredd does not give a shit about justice. He's about the law. The law is all to Judge Dredd. To a fault. Justice and the law are two different things. That's what other characters are there to bounce off of Dredd in different ways. Dredd's strict adherence to law. Law as a form of religion almost. This is what you did, this is the punishment. There's no justice in that. Still. He was conceived by English Socialists who were trying to create a social commentary on the militarization of the United States police, and police brutality in general... Yet, they made such a charismatic and charming anti hero that the social commentary is often downplayed in favor of the pulpy futurism. To be in the world of Judge Dredd and bask in the splendor and horror of it.

The question is...who would produce the game?
@@jaredgarcia8638 Rock Star would be the ideal choice.
@@boydegg not bad.
@@jaredgarcia8638I mean avalanche studios made an absolute banger adaptation of the Mad Max franchise so I think there a decent fit for the Judge

Apocalypse War
I read Judgment Day when I was around 13. I was so hooked.
love the unique style. iv never read a dredd book but love the dredd world and hearing about it

2000AD, still the galaxy's greatest comic without a doubt!!!
Did Tharg pay you to write this ? :)

The greatest comic book ever is without a doubt Superboy and the Legion of Superheroes. Come on, man!
Mechanismo / The Judge Child / Block Mania+Apocalypse War / Judgement Day / Dead Man.

I already feel SE5 in my veins. Could some news be coming?
2000AD Great stuff.
Judge Dredd/batman - i like when Judge Death meets up with scarecrow and he uses his fear gas on Judge Death ! :)
Are you teasing us a Judge Dredd game?
a remake of the old Judge Dredd game could help gauge interest in new Judge Dredd games. They just have to not listen to the Twatter whiners.

Boyhood of a superfiend was always my favourite Dredd property. The art, the story .. its just PEAK darkness.

I tried reading the comics but they were way too violent.
Chopper ForOz!!
My first dredd epic i read was The judge child quest. I would definitely recommend that as well.
I'm surprised it didn't make the list. It really is epic and also introduces us to the Angel gang.
You could not have sold the Pit to me any better! My favorite show is the Wire :)

anything with a batman "crossover theme" is a no in my book ,far better stories than them.
So is the day the law died what the Stallone movie was based on with Rico added on?
Yes
Dare I dream the Judge Dredd game remaster?..

They've made a few. The publishing rights to the comic were actually bought by a videogame developer.
Check out the game "Judge Dredd: Dredd vs Death".
