hmm, i know we generally will wear 4-5 sprays universally regardless of the fragrance. i usually always spray my hair and shirt too. i think with aventus, try 3 at first and see how that is and work up from there. it's an odd fragrance because it seems to disappear to your nose when you wear it but other smell you strongly.
yeah i think you're right. not really sure what the number on this batch was, but we bought into a split after we shot this video, and got a markedly different batch. we'll make a vid about it, i think. :) thanks again!

Once you get beyond the pineapple, Aventus strikes me as an autumn/winter fragrance. There's a balsam Christmas tree note in there, smoke, leather, heavy musk and a harsh synthetic base note (something like iso e super from Terre d'Hermes).
I read somewhere that Napoleon used the bee and the pineapple as his personal symbols and that may be why pineapple was chosen for the scent.

When I first tried Aventus, it was a 2010 batch. It was extremely smokey, and it made women weak in their knees. The newer batches have more pineapple smell. Women like it too, but not as much as the smokier version. I miss the smokier version. Also, I went shopping with me father a few days ago. He was wearing Aventus. I told him it was projecting like crazy, but he couldn't detect it at all. It's very sneaky! Anyway... I love Aventus (both smokey and pineapple).
I think the projection and longevity with these creed even varies day to day. I don't know why maybe it depends on my skin or what...but some day it stands out and then other times it stick close to the skin.

I'm really impressed by this review man! Cause I thought i was the only one but i see that it's not true... Aventus brings me back to the old days, to a summer in morocco, whenever i smell it i think of a day I spent in a swimming pool in morocco with my parents... I don't know why but i think of it CLEARLY whenever i smell this scent! amazing

Bros, I love all of your vids, *especially* these in which you hit those scent memories/stories. Seems like Daver is usually the one with those, moreso than Jerr, but looks like Jerr too has a very strong scent memory here, and that brings such realness to your reviews. OK, I'm gonna go grab a tissue. Err... wait... not like *that*.

Hey Daver, you guys are my favorite reviewers on RUclips. (I miss Jer btw) I've watched this review a dozen times and finally bought a bottle. Today for the very first time, I wore it out of the house. My first stop was a coffee shop. Not half an hour later, one of the baristas came over to me and asked me what cologne I was wearing. All three workers (two girls and a guy) had been discussing how good I smelled and one finally came over to ask. AVENTUS!!!!!

Darkman has decants for cheap if you ever seen him on youtube, I got one and I love it. Not trying to promote him but for those in need of some cheap creed instead of retail price...he's a blessing.

I have had several 4 oz bottles and broke down and ordered the 17 oz flacon,,,, 2013 is not my fave. But I love it. Been trying all the other stuff you nuts have spoke highly about. Needs at least 3 or more sprays as will project. Im not too worried about rationing so I use plenty so it lasts well. I think I like the M imperial better but a great frag!! Will always have it,but I have tons of stuff lol
I liked Aventus when I tried a small sample, but wasn't blown away. But then I sprayed it more freely a few days later and wore it for the day and I absolutely loved it.
My girlfriend can't get enough of it either and just keeps pulling me closer so she can get a smell of me and always asks me to spray some on her pillow when I leave.

LOL! thank you, Rob! i hope your tissue use is the G-rated kind. lol. as for the cuts, it's not the first time we've done it, and we normally dont like editing video into 2 sec chops (a la the youtube style), but we had to this time for a couple of reasons. for one, we did this video back in December and made some comments about that, and two, we mentioned an Aventus split that never occurred. so we had to cut that for cohesion. we didnt take it as negative, bro! thanks for the pros/cons!
I definitely agree with Daver's comment on aventus smelling different when drifting through the air around you versus smelling it directly on your skin or area of application. I have a sample vial I purchased from perfumed court a while back and at first aventus was an automatic hate frag in my book. I am a gourmand lover all the way and this struck me in a different direction because of that smokey ashy smell. I tested it out a few more times on my skin and really began to enjoy it. I think the vial juice i have is just like you guys stated. Pineapple not being in your face and the smoke being in your face, both equally balances out. I get whiffs of pineapple and apple as well as the smokeyness wrapped around all of that through my scent cloud. My nose up to my skin, and all i smell is ash and smoke.

I adore this fragrance. It is so refreshing, masculine, sort of old school with a modern twist. I just don't get the projection and longevity that I would like to get. I hope this is only because of my bactch. Other than that, this is fantastic juice.
I get a lot of white musk, I have smelled the pineapple batch too it is way fruitier IMO almost like Hawaiian punch to me
I think I like Aventus more now that I did in the beginning. I can't remember! My husband likes it and wears it a good bit, though, so maybe the continuity brought me over to his side a little. =)

I love Aventus’ smell, but I only have 3 hours projection. After that, skin scent. I don’t know if it’s because of olfactory fatigue.
I think Creed Aventus should be sprayed on your clothes as well as skin. This type of application works well for me.

I Got a 1oz decant of the x02 batch from John and its amazing but the long/pro aint that good, im wearing it today in blistering heat over here for once and its perfect, i would def wear it all year round, just wish it lasted longer.

Yeah, Aventus is amazing. I love a niche scent that anyone, even a noob, can appreciate. You won't have to defend you choice of scent while wearing Aventus.

I've been wearing fragrance since I was a young kid and I never hype up anything unless I think its exceptional. I must say Aventus is one of the best fragrances ever made and out of the 100 bottles of cologne I own, this gets the most compliments by far.
Since we had the Facebook conversation today about this, I decided to watch the review....before I do, though, I have to give a HUGE ROLL TIDE to my Alabama Bros!

I think aventus is quality as he'll and get wonderful projection and lengetivity. But for an important interview I don't think I would wear literally anything with fruity, freshness or sweetness. It just doesn't feel "down to business" to me unless it's straight musk and woods and maybe just maybe a tinge of vanilla or orange blossom
Tad bit drunk and ordered a 4 oz bottle of aventus for 279.99. I'll regret it tomorrow but maybe not if the ladies dig it! haha

I bought a sample, and it was underwhelming. The scent was nice, but lasted only an hour. I know it was not "nasal fatigue" since I can get a good 6+ hour projection and a 3+ hour silage from GIT (thankfully). Anyone else experience this issue with Aventus?
With modern Aventus, yes. But you have to realize with review was filmed in 2012, which means they probably got a late 2011 bottle. Aventus was very different back then.

Bought this on fragrance.net,. Have to agree with you that at least on me it doesn't last very long. I know this is not unusual for a fresh scent, but for a really expensive cologne, I expected it to last longer. That being said, it is one of my favorite scents.
I bought this from saks. I paid full price because I am not sure how fragrance net obtains their creed. Mine lasts for a good 4 hours before it starts toning down. I live in Hawaii so it is warmer here though. I sprayed 3 sprays and my friend could smell me from about 25 ft away lol. I now spray only one or two sprays max.
can you suggest me aventus like or hermes like fragrance thats got bragging rights that compell people especially women to ask me what am i wearing... I put 10 sprays of hermes, cuz i like to smell it myself too... so strenth and longevity are my top priority , i really like the powerful nature of issey miyake's concrete edition, just open its box/bottle and damn.. the room smells like you spilled it.
Its effin awesome I agree with everything u said about this frag. I felt powerful wearing it as well.
lol its just the nature of hype. some people love buying things only on recommendations, and if you have a high-profile personality make grandiose comments praising something, many people will just dive head-long. i do think it's a very good fragrance, though i wouldnt say it's my favorite creed. but it's still one i'd always want in my arsenal.
I had a few more sweeter and spicier scents, but aventus though not the typical fresh scent was a good intro to my collection.
I like this better then GIT, imo Aventus wins.

i bought Aventus a year ago (250ml flacon) and didn't like it. I traded it quickly (I kept my 10ml) I revisited it this week. man I made a HUGE ERROR IN JUDGEMENT.
This stuff seems to have gotten BETTER WITH AGE! WTF!?!?!?

Where did you buy Aventus at? I went to a boutique and bought it for $395.00 for the 4oz bottle. Also the way it mixes with my skin gave a very different smell than a couple of my colleagues that tried it. On one of them it smelled more citrus and sour. Needless to say it wasn't very good on him.
I have had several different batches of Aventus. I can say that most of the time it smells great, but the batch that smells like a campfire was horrible. Its kind of scary to pull the trigger and buy a bottle because I would hate to get a batch of the campfire.
Next time you guys do a review say the words FRESH and/or CITRUS 20 or more times then it'll be really obvious. Lol! Best review I've seen on Aventus btw, and you guys really painted a picture about how this smells and what it wears like. These Creed and TM series reviews are fantastic!
After all this time this cologne still is my most complimented cologne. Its not even close really.lol... I wore this yesterday going out for my gf's birthday(she actually requested I wear this) and I received 4 compliments from people not counting my gf the 1st 2 hours I had this on. Funny thing is 2 of those were guys and the 1 girl that commented on this even said Id date a guy just to smell that cologne. Which was kind of awkward concidering my gf was right next to me.lol... But hey that just shows you this stuff is legit
Meh, I just don't see why so many people like this so much. It's good, but I'd take GIT, MI, or VIW over this any day. Those 3 are usually discounted though and Aventus isn't, so I'm not too sad that I'm not huge on Aventus. Idk, to each his own.
Also, I think they just used the cologne as an excuse to send home mickers, I mean come on...I blame mickers not aventus.

Hey Daver, Ive never smelled Creed Aventus but I bought a bottle of Armaf Club de Nuit Intense Man, it supposed to smell very very close to Aventus.... Its weird because this fragrance also remind me of my father, very manly smell, but I also think it smells like spray deodrant :(

Does anyone know why Aventus is more expensive on the Creed website than anywhere else? Like Scent Split, do they get a discount for buying it in bulk and so they are able to sell it cheaper?

honestly, I don't believe there is a dark batch and a pineapple batch. After smelling numerous batches, they are all the same.

this smells meh when i put my nose close to my skin, but smells *awesome* in the air floating around me.
Works great as a clubbing fragrance. Many compliments. Lots of chicks wanted to dance w/ me. I was using aventus with black shoes, black pants, black blazer and a white shirt with the top two buttons unbuttoned. Try out that formula for yourselves and see what happens.

This is the first Creed I sampled in the store--I put WAY too much on my wrist--I hated it, it was just too much. Later, I sampled it and thought, this is the absolute best! It now has become one of my two favorites and almost an every day thing. My other fav is Royal Oud, which is more special occasion. I get compliments on both these. Roll Tide!

On the edits/cuts, that makes total sense. It just caught me off guard, as I really appreciate your "one-take wonders" (music studio recording bro here, thus the verbiage). Nothing wrong with an occasional pause, or inside joke, or whatever that might make it into the filming, IMO. Again, it's just another one of the things that, IMO, sets your videos apart from the crowd. Keep up the awesome work. Laterzzz.
Nice Review, its shocking to see that you get poor longevity. I seriosuly urge you try the new batch ending in R01, Beastly longevity and Projection, I get 24 hours and a monstrous sillage.
I wish we could go back and do another review of this. Personally I get amazing longevity, but many people get anosmic to this and can't smell it after a couple of hours. That's probably where the "poor longevity" comes into play.

Hi guys. I totally agree with things you've said and totally disagree with end results . For some reason it reminds me off something my dad wore and I don't know why. To the smell its self . I don't get pineapple and my wife finds it strong and slightly disgusting . I agree with an awfull lot off your reviews but this nooo way

Aventus is incredible. I enjoy it soooooooo much. But, such poor projection & longevity for me. It breaks my heart. It is simply not worth re-purchasing. I must constantly re-apply it.

Why so much hype about this? I've heard a ton of reviews of this saying that it's the best fragrance ever. Doesn't seem to live up to this though. You guys don't give it monster status either. Wonder why it's created such a mass reaction.
The Aventus bottle I had was BEYOND BEAST MOOOOODE! Longevity: I sprayed on my wrist, it got chilly so i threw a fleece on. Some transferred to the sleeve cuff apparently. About 10 days later i wore the same fleece, and Aventus was projecting in the air like crazy! Compliments/Projection: People literally walking past and stopping in their tracks to ask "who smells so good?!" Happened twice. Aventus is a MONSTER

By the way... I wore Aventus to an interview. There were two interviewers, and they were both female. Thirty minutes after the interview, I was hired! It HAD to be because of the Aventus! They didn't hire me! They hired the Aventus!

its funny that it reminded you of jer's your dad driving a car. it reminded me of trainer in wrestling. and it especially reminded me of him driving us in his car. he always wears a leatherjacket. also your talk about rich people wearing this. first thing my friend said was. you smell great. i asked him what he thought it smelled like because i got a really smoky one and was almost afraid people would think i was on fire. he said you smell like money.
