    Good information on the open and closed port cylinders. I had several 394s tore apart and noticed open and closed ports among those as well...good one sir...

      I put a close port on every 51 it comes through the shop. Why not get the most bang for my buck. Are you on Facebook?

    Just wondering if in the end if that is a denso spark plug. Aka the reason the saw didn't run!! IMO no reputable shop sells denso most are lucky to last an hour! On the other hand gotten some great deals and simply installed a real spark plug. Aka NGK, champion, auto lite etc!

    • @JKSawShop
      @JKSawShop  Месяц назад +1

      @@stanleymason8155 that was a Bosch plug not a Denso. Most everything that I put back into one is NGK. we were going from the open port to a close port cylinder anyway, so running or not was irrelevant.

    My old man does small engine repair as a side gig and scored a 51 in a trade. I cut a lot of wood so he said he is going to send it up, and i'm pretty excited. My middle ground between my 3510 echo and the husky 460 only has a ms271. While it's a decent homeowner saw, its too heavy for the power that it has and too much of a beyatch to work on. If you have to take a belt sander to a socket to pull a carb you designed it wrong. Pisses me off.
    Where are ya'll located? If this 51 is sound I wouldnt mind having one souped up for fun.

    I have a husky 240 and it’s closed port but only because it has plastic pieces that make it closed port. Are them nessary or can I just leave the plastic pieces out of it. Just the port opening at the bottom is tiny so was thinking of not putthin them plastics back in the cylinder

    • @JKSawShop
      @JKSawShop  2 года назад

      You could probably leave them out, but they are there to increase velocity of the charge up the transfer
