Same here for someone from a Dravidian state. Until Ilayaraja used Lata Mangeshkar voice in Valayosai song, most have never known Lata before. To this date, still don’t know much of her songs, but have enjoyed a few like Jiya jili and Lukku chuppi. Her voice is sweet and no wonder adored by many north indians.

I have watched dozens of signing competitions right from Saregama in 1995 to Indian Idol 2021. If Indian Idol 12 was a horse race, I would say Arunitha won the race from start to finish. Others were far behind her. She is exceptional. The sense of her loss has hit me and many others, very hard. May God grant great success to this kid and keep her blessed always.

AR Rehman is a legendary musician. its not easy to impress him or re sing one of his hits in right tunes, but She did really well. we can see how tensed she must have been. but she pulled it off. bravo
I am so glad Hindi cinema has used southern singers else would have never known SP Balasubramaniyam, Yesudas, Chitraji and many more. All of them are my favorites.
Same here for someone from a Dravidian state. Until Ilayaraja used Lata Mangeshkar voice in Valayosai song, most have never known Lata before. To this date, still don’t know much of her songs, but have enjoyed a few like Jiya jili and Lukku chuppi. Her voice is sweet and no wonder adored by many north indians.
@@LongHornTexas as a North Indian I completely agree. Lata's voice was indeed very sweet, plus most of the songs in bollywood during old days were in urdu, so urdu plus lata's voice was indeed heaven for us.

I have watched dozens of signing competitions right from Saregama in 1995 to Indian Idol 2021.
If Indian Idol 12 was a horse race, I would say Arunitha won the race from start to finish. Others were far behind her. She is exceptional. The sense of her loss has hit me and many others, very hard. May God grant great success to this kid and keep her blessed always.
Same to me, watching from shreya's saregama in late 90s till this idol, so many, in different languages. I am getting same vibes when i was watching shreya in her early days. This girl has all qualities to become a legend.. 👏👍
