For those that don't know about this, you can actually do Gobos for Area Light too. Just need to do some minor tweaking in the nodes for Area Light. Instead of using the Texture Coordinates Nodes to the Mapping Nodes, you need to change it the Texture Coordinates Nodes to a nodes called Geometry. And then plug the Parametric link to Mapping, and the rest is the same. And it works! *But make sure your Area Light settings in there the " Beam Spread " set to a very low number like around 1 - 5 value to see the sharp gobo shadows.
