A lot of people have commented on my videos asking me if I will be returning to see how many sirens are left, and, if Siren G does indeed remain. I have not been back to Broadmoor since this video, hence I do not know how many sirens remain. However, I can confirm that I do plan to come back some time in the future (not any time soon, though).
Siren J is gone definitely I was able to legally go to the Military Academy in Sandhurst and went looking for it. I found where it was because of the telephone cable sticking out of the ground and a bunch of bolts and other leftovers from the tower. also I found out that siren D (longwater road) was decommissioned in late 2012 (from a minute from Finchampstead parish council dated 19th of march 2014). I’ve also set up a subreddit for the sirens and for people to share knowledge about them.
I have only ever heard one siren in real life - Siren G. If I had to pick one based on how they sound in a RUclips video, I would say the old Siren M (before it was repainted) sounded absolutely amazing and produced the best sound. ruclips.net/video/n2WU9qwDI_Y/видео.htmlsi=3Gzher9iyx7NhxtN
Were these operated using the HANDEL system? It would make sense for them to use it since they're from the 50's but I can't think of how the escape tone would have worked since the HANDEL system only had the arming sequence followed by the tone that would be sent for sirens to be "on" then a period of silence for "off" and I don't think they had the capability to facilitate operation of the shutters.
I have absolutely no idea what system they used, however a friend of mine has asked someone from the hospital for a photo of the control panel where they set off the sirens.
Never been in Broadmoor irl but i still love watching existing videos of these type of sirens and I strongly hope i will in the future too without every of them being removed after over 60 years of service...! These sirens have the most beautiful natural tone (I even prefer it over the german E57, which I love a lot) and they honestly do not deserve to get thrown away just like that! They deserve an update instead! I've unfortunately noticed that old type of sirens (ran by a rotor/fan) are getting removed and then replaced by MoLari digital type of shit sirens and they have horrible tone. Greetings from Hungary!
Ah it's nice to see someone from Hungary! It's a great shame they're all bring removed yes, I believe sirens F and G will remain on their towers for a long time. They sounded absolutely awesome, hopefully they keep going off by accident!
@@MichalM sounds like they are worried people will get into mischief with them. Sad. I would prefer they left the bird shredders up on their perches and wound them up from time to time to keep people on their toes

When they were in operation which was your favourite siren?

Wow, you can see the TRL siren now, looks like some of the forest has been cut down!
Yep, you can see it very well! The whole building site is slowly advancing towards the siren, might even end up like siren H eventually!
I think its decommisioned now.... it would be amazing to hear it sounding this close
@@MichalMand Micheal how much zoom did you use for siren G because its so high up
@@F71Andrixx 25x zoom.

@@MichalM any luck with getting the photo. I’d also like to know what happened to the sirens after they were taken down.
@@bigships Unfortunately the hospital refused the request.

M gone blue end i think siren f is gone to now in 2021
I am very tempted to take a look.
Thanks for this, I miss them! Are all of them definitely going then?
You're welcome! They are all going sadly yes. None are being given away and all are being scrapped!

@@exafrost Indeed, and yes that would be much better.
i want to buy one!!!😂😅😅
when they remove the last one you could try to buy it but the chances are 0.1
only two sirens left? wow do they still get tested or are they decommisioned? and also what type off sirens are those? hornless 3T22s? lol
Toy Bartley They are not exactly 3T22s, but they are Klaxon/Secomak CS8s.
@@jml6901 thx
Two sirens remain, none are tested. They are Klaxon CS8's.
@@MichalM so they are decomisioned?
@@SaltLakeSirens thats dissopionting...
When were they last tested? Are there any left now?
Honestly no idea, will check how many are still in situ soon.
quick question, is there any sort of online group for talking about the sirens? i always seem to be a bit out of the loop lol
Not that I know of. Al66class59 has a group chat for sirens I think, try contacting him :)
I’ve set up a subreddit about the sirens
siren M siren I removed ?
Yes.
Siren F is on private land so it’ll be hard to get it out
Indeed, probably the reason why it's still there.
The sirens are trash anyway new siren sounds much better
I know what you mean, however the new siren just doesn't sound the same as the old ones, which many people are used to. Thanks for the comment!
