I think Michelle does have more range than Kelly, it's just in DC Michelle's voice sounded the best singing the mid and low harmonies. She can hit high belts like Letoya. Idk if you saw these performances, which are like 10 years apart, she used to sing 1st soprano in her old gospel group United Harmony:

Ppl don't realize most of the highest notes in the harmonies are done by Kelly bc she has such a full, heavy voice from young. Bey's voice (was) light and airy and got fuller with time.

In DC4, the harmony parts were consistent. Letoya sang 1st soprano, Kelly sang second soprano and/or middle, Beyonce sang the melody/middle, and Latavia sang the bottom. The awesome part is that everyone in DC3 has had an opportunity to sing different parts of the harmony. Check out my video of DC3 switching harmonies.

Just an assumption here, I think the girls were trained to sing around Beyonce for sure. That is why Kelly can literally harmonize with absolutely anything. Her voice alone is just perfection! Have you seen the video of her on The Voice where she is coaching one of her team and she on the spot found the right key and sang a perfect harmony?

@@rko32491 I agree with you. Do you like Kelly's music? See, there are a number of singers who have amazing voices, but their discography doesn't match. Keke Wyatt, Shanice Wilson and Jennifer Hudson to name a few who have powerhouse vocals but their music isn't as well received. That can play into the overall success of the artist as well. Sza has the #1 R&B album and she is a brown girl. Same for Summer Walker and K. Michelle. As good as the vocals are, the music gotta hit too.
