I have TMJD and malocclusion. I was told by a dental doctor that I need a maxillary osteotomy. But another dentist told me not to, because it would make my upper canines, lateral and central incisors permanently numb. What to do?
This is the problem um suffering since 3 years and from your lecture i've known that i've bilateral tmj ankylosis but doctor couldnt identity the problems. I feel my problems matching with your discussion. Sir Would you pls give me a test name which identify the bilateral tmj ankylosis problem. I've done opg and tmj xray but it shows in open mouth tmj dislocation. My right side ramus is not developing and chin is becoming short day by day and i've sleep apnea problem. And taking medicine for this problem but there is no solution and day by day my problem is increasing. Pls sir help me to get rid of this problem. Pls give me a test to identify bilateral tmj ankylosis. I'll be very very thankful to you forever. Pls sir help me. Um waiting to your kind feedback

depending on type of ankylosis we have three options : condylectomy for fibrous ankylosis, gap arthroplasty and interpositional arthroplasty for bony ankylosis... we generally follow kabans protocol..

Kindly correct that cervicomental angle is the angle btw the neck and the body of mandible !! And it increases or flattens in TMJ ankylosis!!!
