Thank you Carrie! I just watched The Bedtime story! Max was SO HOT in Season 9 , and Julie was so cute telling the story to little Annie! She seemed so maternal in that scene. Sad That she would be abandoning her child and husband shortly after!!
Max was SO CUTE in "The dentist"!! Not only did he look hot, but he was at his finest in acting!! He was so SWEET and funny!!! "I'm Tootsie Horvath, and I work for peanuts and don't mind harassment"!!! And how cute was he when he was all upset that he wanted to "Recept" but there were no recept - ies !!! His mannerisms and facial expressions were ADORABLE here!! Classic Lembeck !!! His Dad Harvey would be proud!!!! And Mark being mean to him and telling him to " Go suck an egg, Horvath"" when Max was ONLY trying to help!!!
Great Episodes! Valerie Bertinelli and Michael Lembeck are two of my favorites! It was Heartbreaking MacKenzie Phillips was let go for the 2nd time in December 1983. She couldn't stop doing drugs.
Mackenzie Phillips went to rehab and become clean. It her evil dad fault she start taking illegal drugs he hook her on drugs and sexually abuse her. She Cynthia Phillips sister from Wilson Phillips. I like Wilson Phillips girl group.
He is cute and he need to find a job that will make him alot of money to support his family. His a writer but he is not selling any of his stories. Where is their mother she isn't in any of these episodes and is she still alive?
We're Kaptain Kool and the Kongs, When we're singing, what can go wrong? Kaptain Kool and the Kongs, Gettin' it on (Gettin' it on) Singin' a song (Singin' a song!)
These return episodes involving Julie are great. The ones that I love are the Girl talk Julies protest and any one involving Grandma Kathrine...I love that lady especially when she whistles. Ooww Mrs Romano.
So sad. She had top people styling her clothes and doing her hair and make-up and that's the best they could make her look. Thank God she is alive and sober today.
Pearl Girl...I've heard that she put out a book about her life, the trials & tribulations she went thru. I also heard that it was very good. What did you think, did you enjoy the book, was it worth your time to read it? Personally I like reading biographies but usually the bios/autobios that I read are usually about music/musicians. My top 2 favorite music bios are "The Dirt" by/about Motley Crue, which my mom(VERY surprisingly!)gave me for Christmas in 05 or 06, and Don't Try This At Home by Dave Navarro former guitarist of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jane's Addiction, etc & co-host of the competition tv show called Ink Master. If you like Bio/autobiographies & rock n Roll those are 2 books I strongly recommend.
@@leniselafleur4289 Thanks! I def recommend Mackenzie’s “High on Arrival” - I couldn’t put it down and read it all in one day! I love memoirs and autobiographies too; they’re such great reads! Lots of Rock ‘n Roll stars and stories in Mack’s book.
I’m in recovery like McKenzie and love these autobiographical accounts. I got a book she signed after a twelve step meeting she spoke at and and was really disappointed and stopped reading because of the language she used in the book. It was probably a later book than her first one, I don’t remember the name. After folks have been in recovery and start to finally mature they normally let the language go. She’s a true miracle in recovering from her addictions and horrific father’s abuse though, for sure!
Do you have any of the ‘Happy New Year’ episodes they went to the retirement home on NYE three times in season 2, 4, 5. I cannot find them anywhere. They were my all time favorites.
@@LuvTadnDixie It wasn't for several episodes after that. On one show, Max said that she was in Houston, in one episode she and Max had a fight (she didn't even appear in the episode) and she broke into Sam's apartment - that kind of set it up. "Dear Max" was the episode - she wrote him a letter and it was delivered on Katherine's birthday. She said that she left to find a job in Cleveland to find herself and that she thought Max would better take care of Annie.
@@millenniumman75 OMG! Really? They wrote that she left her husband and her child? And it sounds like there was nothing really written for it to lead up to that either. Very abrupt. She wasn't even in the last episode? You mean there was no closure for her character? I loved this show, but I wasn't really watching it too much in the later seasons.
@@LuvTadnDixie Yep - this was the episode: ruclips.net/video/UuQ0Qtp1Qrk/видео.html She was done for good. Everybody was in the next-to-last show, the one that closed the storylines - Mackenzie was only in the final scene in flashback to the first episode in 1975. The only person in the final episode was Schneider - a spinoff attempt that failed.
@@millenniumman75 Thanks for the link. I really would like to read Mackenzie's book one day . . . I think it was called "High on Arrival" or something like that. I love biographies. I read Valerie's a few years back.
Hi Carrie. Is there any way you could upload "Alex's First Love" Season 7 Episode 9? I'd greatly appreciate it. If you do, please message me after you post. Thnx in advance.
I think baby Annie weighed more than mommy Julie. Poor Mack, she was deep in her disease here. But, she's clean & sober now. And now I'm deep in my addiction!😢 I so wish i could talk to Mack and get some advice ❤
I meant the first season, before Mackenzie's drug use was obvious her height made her look the 16 she was playing. When the first episode was filmed Mackenzie ,Valerie and I were all 15 years old. But like Valerie I could have passed more easily for 13 or 14 then 16. @@musicfanhawk4523
It was how extremely thin she got when she was on drugs actively. They fired her twice. In fact THIS episode was her last one on the show. I watched a documentary and they found her passed out on the couch in a drugged stupor. They all loved her so much and didn’t want her to have money from show to use for drugs. Her face looks older because she’s so very thin and haggard. You can so clearly tell when she was healthy and when she was off the wagon. I’m thrilled she is sober now and seemingly doing OK.
I don't remember these shows when Barbara was married. I did love the guy Julie married tho I thought she was too homely for him being so handsome! Enjoying the old commercials shown here! Julie was Waaay too thin! Drug use must of been rampart at this point. Not much shown of the mom who really was the central point of the show.
I don't think Bonnie wanted to do the show anymore so they tried to focus on other characters in the last year. It didn't help that Mackenzie got fired right after this.
Mark was boring. Max had alot more charisma . Im glad they let Michael Lembeck stay in the show after they had to let Mackenzie go. Felt bad for her though.
Valerie Bertinelli is a good actress. I like this show from the 70's it funny.🤣
From the 70's and 80's. It ran 9 seasons from 1975 to 1984.
Thank you Carrie! I just watched The Bedtime story! Max was SO HOT in Season 9 , and Julie was so cute telling the story to little Annie! She seemed so maternal in that scene. Sad That she would be abandoning her child and husband shortly after!!
I didn’t see the last couple of seasons. I never realized just how emaciated Mackenzie Phillips became.
The camera adds pounds...you can see how frail she is looking imagine what she looked like in person
She was on drugs
Sadly, the drugs were taking their toll. Her complexion is terrible too; even Hollywood makeup can't cover it. Thank God she came out of it in time.
I love how everyone in the series got their 'twit' moments, even the more responsible characters. It kept the show fun.

It was hardly heartbreaking, she was a weak cast member and caused chaos.

I really liked the episode when Max kisses Barbara.
Yes,he is so cute and kind of innocent that it came across as sweet.
Michael Lembech is hilarious
And cute too!!!!

Michael Lembeck is cute.

I think Max is lazy . He need to get a job at airport again . Dreams don’t put food on the table.
He was perfect as a flight attendant. Absolutely nothing else. He never should have made a career change.
Maybe not- but they make life worth living!
My goodness, by these comments you would think that this TV show was real life.
Mackensie sure changed from this to leaving Max and their daughter.....

The Bedtime Story was Mackenzie Phillips' final episode. She was fired for the second and last time after it was filmed.

Let's not forget that the guy who played Mark was Coach Brackett in Porky's.
