Hope you are correct that women are reconsidering their political views. After hearing the Hollywood access tape/video, I thought sure very few women would vote for Inmate 00045. Boy was I wrong.
Imagine if elections were based on platform questions, and not political parties. Do you want environmental protections? Yes or No. Do you want to allow abortion? Yes or No. I think if it were questions asked, and you lined up those votes with what various politicians are pushing for, you'd have a much different political makeup.
Those questions are asked and answered or avoided. It's up to the voter to read about and listen to the candidate. I don't think anyone can legitimately say they voted for someone not knowing what they stood for; if a voter doesn't know what a candidate supports then the voter hasn't tried to be informed. In a previous video, Beau talked about a poll where a portion of people believed women would do better under Republican power. The Republicans are not hiding what they believe, so if voters believe women will do better then I think they're either not paying attention to what's being said or know perfectly well how women will fare and are willing to give up freedoms to follow their dictator.

I dont know. Setting up a work-free election day every year and cost-free, easily done voter registration&identification system (ideally federal) alone might push US turnout massively. Dont forget the fact that large parts of the US do use a myriad of voter supression tactics. Not the least the simple fact of doing it on a normal workday. Most democracies vote on sundays for the very reason that at least the lower economic third of the population cannot afford to miss work. I always believe its better to encourage and simplify desired behaviour in people than forcing it on them. Both can be done, but the first one does not offend people or give them the feeling of being prodded. And is usually far easier to realize too.

Having our two parties so entrenched that any other party (or independent candidates) are just not really viable is hurting us in the long run. When someone in office gets fed up with their party's shenanigans they will usually join the party that is diametrically opposed to their original, rather than a smaller party or no party. Someone asked me if I supported a particular candidate and when I responded that I didn't, they assumed I supported their main opponent and agreed with all of their talking points. They got a bit confused when I explained that I didn't much like them either. I don't really fit into either party, but lean a bit more one way than the other. I don't cast my ballots along party lines. In my state I don't get to participate in our primary elections because I am not a member of a party. Having only two to pick from isn't much of a choice.
This is one of the coolest videos Beau had ever made. It makes sense whether you vote Blue, Red, any of the smaller parties, or even if you’re a swing voter or ticket-splitter. Really well done.

Do you even know how many people were killed by Stalin? Stalin was allied with Hitler until Germany attacked the USSR. Research the Holodomor.
Hahaha, what a good joke! They are so free in Cuba that there are political prisoners and you can only vote for one party! And socialism already has many genocides under its belt, maybe you should read about the Gulags in the ex Soviet Union
@@TROPtastic What do you mean by equality? economic equality? Why should there be economic equality? That everyone has the same income regardless of what they do is not fair in any way
Thank you for this message!
Hey JUne !
@@markrenfrow9873 Hey, Mark!!!
It’s because that party is only pro certain freedoms that benefit them, freedom from social responsibility, and freedom to oppress others.
This all sounds like a shoe that'll fit the GOP!!!!
"... Maybe some people will find that that party? It may not really be the Pro-Freedom Party..." 😜 Truer words have not been spoken.
Hello 👋, how are you doing today? Hope you’re having a wonderful time out there?
Glorious
The OSS psychological profile of Hitler described him thus:
"His primary rules were: never allow the public to cool off; never admit a fault or wrong; never concede that there may be some good in your enemy; never leave room for alternatives; never accept blame; concentrate on one enemy at a time and blame him for everything that goes wrong; people will believe a big lie sooner than a little one; and if you repeat it frequently enough people will sooner or later believe it."
Sound familiar?
I lean way to the left of either party.
Hey listen up! I hear DeSantis is offering free trips to Martha's Vineyard for anybody that wants to escape the hurricane!
LOL ! Wouldn't that be something !!
Well done Cuba!
Make your society more inclusive, so better and stronger.
America's voter turnout remains pathetic. I remain jealous of Australia's vote or be fined model.
I would mostly agree with all of the above. But a mandatory "suggestion "would encourage voter literacy on issues.
@@nilesbutler8638 I work for a small nationwide retail chain. The owner gives the entire company the day off to vote. He chooses democracy over profit. Wish more companies would do this or like you said hold elections on Sundays.
Hold elections on a national holiday and reduce the barriers to entry. you will have the important parts of the Australian system.
Yup. My country doesn't have mandatory voting, but we do get PAID time off to vote even though elections are always on a workday, and voter registration is automatic on the day you turn 18. We have voter turnouts between 75-85%.
The Cuban referendum tells you that they have a freer and fairer voting system than the yanks do. The Cuban government, long opposed to LGBTQIA rights, encouraged people to vote.
And encouraged them to vote yes.
Well, I guess it’s a relief to hear Americans aren’t the only people dumb enough to think voter abstinence is somehow an effective strategy… I’ve always thought it was stupid, but nothing solidified that view more than Liz Cheney, this past weekend, telling her type of Republican to still vote “lesser of 2 evils” (democrats) if trump is the nominee bc she understands not voting tells politicians to not bother trying to win you over..
"Think about the world you want to leave behind"
Now, there's a concept!
I'm shocked and pleased with that Cubans were allowed to vote and that it passed. 💙 Good people. Peaceful people.
I am starting to believe that one needs to say human rights rather than dividing it up in different groups.
Very good. I think this really needs to be a mantra up until the election.
I heard that the hurricane made a real mess of parts of Cuba.
😢
Love this message Beau . Thank You and wishing you and your family safety from the coming storm 👊🏼🇺🇸
You are so generous to give those fellows credit they clearly have not earned. Women etc are beneath them in that mindset. They will die before they change. Changing to them shows weakness.
Sago Beau thanks again.
A+ on this one Beau! It’s way past time for a lot of Americans to look in to the mirror and have a serious discussion with themselves about the Republican Party.
You are truly so good at breaking things down and spiriting a thought right up to someone who typically wouldn't ask you for the time of day! Superbly done, Justin! ✌️

Thanks Beau.

There will be a video about this tonight.
Wow! Can't believe my people did such a foolish thing!
I am an American first and where I have had to hold my nose when I vote sometimes.
I'd never vote against our collective interest. Never would I willingly void my vote.
A bit like Republicans voting against aid to veterans who were exposed to burn pits, and high fiving each other about it despite claiming to be the pro veteran side, just to pwn the dems. 👍🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
Just a really f'n good thought....
Yes I shall think 🤔🤔 on this
¡Viva Cuba!
Guess they're playing:
Yes, you did
No, I didn't
Yes, you did
No, I didn't
No, you didn't
Yes, I did
🤦
It is a breath of fresh air to see someone talking about Cuba without a bunch of anticommunist rhetoric and disinformation.
The Founding Fathers were adamantly opposed to having any political parties.
This is one of the coolest videos Beau had ever made. It makes sense whether you vote Blue, Red, any of the smaller parties, or even if you’re a swing voter or ticket-splitter. Really well done.
Castro, leaning back in his heavenly chair, puffing a cigar and sipping on some rum. "Bravo, Reactionaries, bravo."👏😏

The biggest opposition to the socialist government is conservative. Our version of liberals would be a silent minority, OR in favor of the socialist government.
Good on Cuba!
I will always listen to the Talking Heads. David Byrne is a treasure.
Being a sore loser is not just an American trait; It's universal.
The problem with giving people rights is that a right given can be taken away.. What we need to recognize is human rights.
Thanks for such a thoughtful video.

It's sad that the first good news I've heard in a long time comes from Cuba.
Dismantle the duopoly, problem solved.
It would be nice if the politicians actually represented their constituents instead of voting for what other politicians want.
Off subject.. Praying for you, your family, every human and animal in the path of Ian. I have never seen a storm grow so fast
There are many things to say about Cuba. Yet no one can say this change is bad.

As usual Beau, very well stated🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽. It’s what I’m constantly asking myself: Why don’t ALL AMERICANS put their political leanings aside, and take an HONEST ASSESSMENT of their morals/ethics and how they translate in a future society that our children/grandchildren will have to negotiate and thrive on???
Beau, you inspire hope and honesty with your podcasts, and I for one am extremely grateful for all you do to cut thru the bs that is trending in our news cycles these days 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
When people forget what they are for to remember what they are against, it shows the order of importance to them. And vice versa.
Can we set aside a part of the planet where people who don’t believe in democracy can reside instead of them enjoying the benefits of a system they don’t believe in?
I suspect American voters proceed less from a sense of shared allegiance as one of shared revulsion.
After the Cuban boat lift in 80 I was a guard a Camp Chaffee, Arkansas. This was were for the most part the prisoners that Castro sent was housed.
There was also families there, nicest people I met, and so glad to be in America.

Yes I understand. To say that Cuba is a shining beacon of successful Socialism is a lie. Cuba has done some truly terrible things.
On the other hand, to say Cuba has done nothing good for it's is equally disingenuous. False.
It's like saying the USA is a complete failure, when in fact it isn't. It's done terrible things and good things.
Let's learn from the good things and focus on them. Dwelling on the bad leads to a pretty miserable life.
So there!!
I'd love to see it. There are legitimate issues the conservative base are struggling with. We could address them, if they'd elect people who could represent their needs.

I know many right leaning people that voted no in kansas August 2nd. I'm glad they spoke for themselves and not their preferred party.

Next time you are in a voting booth, think about whether the one you're voting for has YOUR best interests in mind, then vote your conscience.

Never ever ever ever swear allegiance to an individual or a group of individuals , whether it is a political party or any other group. Doing so often leads to death. Only be loyal to your own principles and morals. If whom ever you're with deviates from those set of principles and morals then walk away.
